The menu is a mixture of classically authentic Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura, noodles and small hot and cold plates.
Served izakaya style we recommend customers order a variety of dishes and share them on the table.
Tables can be booked in the main restaurant or at the sushi counter in front of the chef.
The restaurant is warm and inviting, the staff happy to help explain the food on the menu and select sakes and wines to accompany the meal.
Another outstanding meal at Chisou! It's the first time we've visited the new location and we're really impressed: it feels lighter and more airy than the previous Mayfair location. Service as ever was outstanding and the food itself was absolutely delicious. Very highly recommended.
Food was good but the entire service was extremely slow.
Nice interior with decent sushis but the extremely poor service is what puts me off. We waited ages for somebody to take an order and again waited very long before we could pay. The restaurant was nit crowded at all. Given prices, I would have expected better service.
Great place for family
The best sushi place in town, will come back for sure next time when I visit london
Great Japanese restaurant hidden in a back street near Bond Street station. Excellent service and wow the food is first rate
Thx for the wonderful time
Superb sashimi and grilled eel. High quality food with good unobtrusive service. Not ridiculously expensive for the quality. A winner.
The food was fine, however the service is poor, food waiting time is too long and waiter forgot our requests. Not satisfied at all for the service
Head sushi chef’s attitude is unpleasant and even our order did not come after 40mins. It was not recommended to anyone!!!
we sat outside, interior looks very pleasant and original.
Beautiful food and ambience recreated at their new location. A wonderful experience.
The Welcome and service was fantastic. From the Manager to the waiters all excellent.
The ambience is nothing great. Tables are too close to each other that you can hear all the conversations on the table next door.
Asked for a Large bottle of water and was told they had run out!! You can imagine how shocked I was to hear a resturant out of water. The food arrived and asked for chilli Sauce. And Yes, you guessed it right. “Sorry sir we do not have any chilli sauce but you can use the powder!!” I just didn’t have any words. This is meant to be a high end Japanese resturant and you don’t even keep large Water bottles and chilli sauce?
At the prices they charge you are better of going to Nobu.
The restaurant has closed down and is being relocated. This would have been helpful to have been notified about in advance. Our booking had been moved to the sushi counter next door without notifying us, and it meant we had a much more limited menu and different ambience. Some communication about the closure would have been preferable.
Was lovely. Nice service. Everything tasted great.
Great Japanese food and always good service
Great food and friendly service. It’s a pleasure to dine there as always.
A pleasant, small restaurant. The food was high quality and enjoyable. Tables are fairly close together, so privacy is a little tricky. That said, I sat outside which was fine.
Very high quality Japanese food made in the premises.
excellent service! we were seated outside in the sun and I expected that they would have forgotten about us but they kept coming to check that we had everything we wanted. Good quality food so worth the price, but stay away from the small plates and chocolate fondant - they were overpriced and overcooked
We had some trouble finding the right door at first. We arrived just to look at the closed door for the wrong part of the restaurant. Take the left door instead!! The staff was lovely and took good care of us 4! The ambience was nice and noise level low although we may had a bit too much fun and interrupted the otherwise quiet atmosphere! We tried many various options including the smoked fish. We loved all of it. I would go back again next time I am in the area!
I have been to the resturant a number of times and it has never disappointed me
Food is excellent, as is service. We had sashimi and sushi, as well as miso cod and few other accompaniments. Everything was very fresh, well made and service was attentive but not overbearing. Would definitely come back and looking forward to the new location. David - thank you for making our dinner so lovely.
Great quality Sushi. Good for business lunch or just taking a break from shopping!
Top quality food,
Very friendly staff!
Will be back
Great service but it all stopped there. Food below average, standards have dropped here
My wife and I had dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was good and tasty and the house red wine was decent.
The Japanese beer was also good but a little pricey for the bottle. Overall, we had a good dinner experience and would like to recommend this place.
The food was brilliant but i needed two mains to fill me up. The prices were a bit silly considering a beef steak and a chicken katsu was the same size and the steak cost almost double the Katsu.
We have been to this restaurant about 5 times in 13 years.! The food has always been superb, massive menu of all different types of Japanese cuisine. We will be back again in the near future.
Very tasty food, very interesting ingredient combos, but portions were not very big and at the end you pay a lot and still being hungry. Good for going once but that’s all.
Great sushi in authentic restaurant! Bot cheap, but very high quality food.
We enjoyed the food at Chisou quite a lot; however the service was uneven and at times confused. When we were arrived for our 7pm booking we were told we'd been booked for 8, but were seated anyway. We then waited a while to be offered drinks, which only arrived after our first starters were delivered. The restaurant was not full, and yet also the table next to us was waiting on 4 dishes to be delivered. Once we had ordered, however, everything arrived in good time. We enjoyed the age tofu, eggplant, cucumber salad, sushi, and tempura udon. The price was a bit high, especially the udon at over £15/bowl, but everything was very tasty.
Totally fine but nothing special. I have eaten at one of their other restaurants, Sushi Atelier, morning refer that experience.
Excellent real Japanese food. My wife is Japanese and thought the food was very good. Quite expensive but probably understandable given the location. The same food in Japan would cost a fraction but most Japanese food in London isnt very authentic whereas this is. If you want/need authentic Japanese food in London and don’t mind the price then definitely worth a visit.
I loved having dinner at Chisou and have already been back for a second time! The food was very fresh and tasty. I especially enjoyed the warm sake afterwards. Definitely recommended.
I am a regular. Consistently great food.
As excellent as it always has been. Sashimi superb, soft shell crab delicious, tuna tartare better than ever, tempura prawns amazing and chicken dumplings mouth watering. Another memorable meal!
Food knowledge was a little poor.
Maitre’d was not attentive enough and failed to check on customers during service/dinner.
Food was fantastic.
Superb food, authentic flavours, great service.
SHAME ON CHISOU AT MAYFAIR!
I booked a table one month ago at 8.30 p.m. for a dinner with friends, when we arrived the table wasn't ready! It was occupied by other people! The manager doesn't do any apologize. After my complaint, he offered a table downstairs in a room near toilet, it was smelly and cold! We refused it. We had to wait for 30 minutes to have our table...
Also the food wasn't so good.
For me, it was first and last time at Chisou Mayfair!!!
