Wolfgang Puck's second restaurant opened in 1983. A unique blend of Chinese and French fusion explodes with flavors unheard of before. Imitated but yet never captured to this day this fusion of flavors keeps you craving and coming back for more. The food is served family style, creating a fun sharing experience that brings people together. The trend setting open kitchen where you can sit and eat while you watch the dance of the chefs working in unison. ***If you are interested in reserving our dining counter please make a request while making a reservation since seating is very limited***

Food was so-so for a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Asian food can taste better!

This is a great restaurant (both food and service are outstanding) and it’s both a relaxing and elegant stop for lunch. Come in denim, come in jeans, all will enjoy the excellent food.

After fifty years of patronage, still consider this a exceptional place to celebrate a special occasion So despite living 80 miles away, we chose Chinois to celebrate our 60 wedding anniversary, and weren't disappointed. Food as always fantastic, service attentive without being imposing, and the atmosphere lively. Truly a memorable experience.

Chinios has become a classic. I've been going there since it opened and brought some out of town guests. Service was top notch, the food delicious and even though this group had various food restrictions, the chefs were able to accommodate us and we all shared.

The food is the best in the city in my opinion. The staff is excellent and remember you even if you dine there 3x a year!
They are all friendly and helpful. We did not eat off the dine LA menu but that was very inexpensive and suggest that is a great way to get hooked on this restaurant .

It is great for business or personal , in fact I am making reservations for Valentines Day!

Chinois on Main has been a wonderful mainstay for a long time.
And WE LOVE the LA dine week specials.
I do have to say that this time, however, we were a little disappointed with the menu. We went for what we thought was our favorite whole deep friend fish and when the dish arrived it was a small piece of sea bass in what seemed more like a Mexican/ Spanish sauce with capers. This was totally wrong and did not go with the rest of the meal. We felt as if suddenly there was something very wrong with the menu, as we love the California meets Asian cuisine. We couldn't help wondering if there was a Mexican chef who snuck this in...truly out of pace and enough to almost make us wonder if we'll do this again next time.
Otherwise, the meals were great and we were glad to have ordered the Mongolian Beef...totally YUM!
Desert, too sweet and not to our liking, but in general we're not really desert people anyway.

We love Chinois. The food is exceptional. The service is wonderful. My only complaint is that it is extremely loud. We are fine with the exuberance of a terrific restaurant, but it was hard to hear each other and we were at a tiny table! I would still recommend it for all the other reasons!

Great table and seated on time. Used dineLA menu. Could not have had a better meal. The Chinese chicken salad was generous and delicious. Ordered the pork chop which should be on the menu all the time. Two breaded chops over sautéed cabbage with a drizzle of sauce to die for. So generous we had half the meal for lunch the next day along with a Chinese chicken salad I ordered to go at the end of the meal. Added the duck fried rice. Had the lemon desert and my husband had the chocolate cake. Neither one of us shared. A good bottle of Merlot at $55.00 rounded out a great evening. Can’t wait to return.

Not the Chinoise I remember. They have let the restaurant get worn looking. Even the cheap place mats were worn out. Our bus boy didn't seem to know what was going on on, but our waiter was fine and pleasant. The food there were offering for restaurant week was just so so.
Sorry.

Most of b our group hadn't been there in years. Now we all remember why thus place is iconic. The food is incredible. The Chinois salad a legend. I had the sea bass; it was perfectly cooked and amazing. Thr decor is the same as 20 years ago, brigjt and festive. I highly recommend coming here.

Very nice meal. Started with the Chinese Chicken Salad. It was a teense overdressed, but full of flavor. Next came Crispy Sea Bass with Rice and Tomato, Caper and Onion Sauce. Finished with Chocolate Lava Cake with a purple-hued ice cream. The staff is very kind.

My friend wanted to come here for Dine LA. She had been in the past and remembered it as being one of the best known restaurants on the Westside. Unfortunately, the only part of the meal that impressed us was an item that was NOT on the Dine LA menu, which was the lobster eggrolls. Needless to say, we were a bit let down after anticipating a better foodie experience.

I had not been to Chinois on Main in over 20 years and it was good as I remembered. The waitress was very helpful and her recommendations were spot on. The food was amazing, my son is still talking about the Szechuan beef and the curry lobster.

This was DineLA restaurant week, so some of the service errors are acceptable as most of the patrons needed a lot of hand-holding. That said, the service was way below normal for Chinois. Our appetizers came out at different times, same with the main courses. Water not filled unless asked. Really poor. That said, the food was excellent as always. The DineLA menu was good, but we added sides to get full. Overall, we had a slightly frustrating but wonderful time. If you haven't been, go!
