My favorite restaurant in Los Angeles area. Chinois chicken salad, a classic and always hits the spot. Duck fried rice with Shanghai lobster. All my go to dishes and I'll keep coming back!
Still the best in Santa Monica, CA!!!
We have been dining at Chinois for over 30 years. It’s always been fantastic. That’s why we continue to return.
Amazing food and service. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Egg Noodles with vegetables, mushrooms, crispy spinach, egg rolls, Szechuan Beef, and warm chocolate fondant all delicious!
Never disappoints. Always worth our appreciation and applause.
Delicious food. We love the lobster and the stir fried mushrooms. A great taste treat!
Amazing food and cocktail selections! Wonderful flavour combinations; great service!
The soup was suppose to be catfish, shrimp and scallops. Turned out it was 85% calamari which I don't like unless it is fried. I had already had the calamari salad as an appetizer which was excellent. The soup didn't have much flavor. I would never order again.
Delicious, unique food. And the outside space was charming and well-distanced
It could not have been a better, more delicious, more delightful evening.
Great spot!
We always love Chinos on Main, but we ate outside. After getting over that, it was the typical excellent dining experience we’ve come to love. Waitstaff was superb and attentive. Cuisine is unparalleled and the attention to detail makes every subtle flavor so yummy. Cant wait to get back in the dining room.
Their outdoor set up is well-spaced. The ambiance is "ok". The service and food are excellent as always and the noise level is waaay down because it is all outside. We loved that ! It gets a little breezy in the late afternoon, but it dies down at sunset.
Been there many times. It is always excellent.
We have dined here for years and it just keeps getting better. Even with Covid, the kitchen is on its game and the staff makes serving outside look effortless. Bella, the manager, is so gracious and welcoming. The tables and chairs are cleaned between guests, the guests are spaced and the staff all wear masks and shields. It is so refreshing to have an excellent meal outside in our city.
Not crazy about sitting in the street on chilly night, which is why ambiance is less than perfect. The foot is exceptional and we loved the adventure away from home. Thanks!
Used to consider this place one of my favorites. Had not been there for a while. Quality of the food was definitely poor. We were 4 people. Spent $600. Definitely not worth it. Hopefully chinois will go back to what it used to be.
The service and food are exceptional here!!!
Perfectly delicious as always! Ahi tuna tempura, shanghai lobster the best! Bella and staff are wonderful!
Since we have Covid outdoor seating, the tables are on the sidewalk and in the street. However the service was excellent
The food as always sensational and Bella who has run the restaurant for Wolfgang Puck for 20 years, has a fine tuned fabulous staff and kitchen
especially appreciated now after a year of basic lockdown
Love it
Everything was just fabulous
So what if you're basically dining out on the street at the moment...it's the same great food and attentive service, but the staff have a lot further to travel, so tip generously, folks!
The food was wonderful. The service was terrible. We waited for forever for our order to be taken. It took 30 minutes to get our check. For such an expensive restaurant there should be tablecloths on the table.
As always the food was amazing the service is impeccable and the desserts delicious and one of the best restaurants in all of Los Angeles for many many many years!
always a great place for a nice dinner and celebration of birthday
From the hello as we walked in we felt welcomed. The food was exquisite and with this challenging time of eating outside they made a great dining atmosphere. Thank you
Once our server came over (Joel) he was exceptional. It was a very windy evening and they did their best to accommodate us with a table close to the buildings. The food was great. They even brought us a delicious dessert on the house for my husband's birthday. I will definitely go back as there are many more items on the menu I would like to try.
Outdoor dining was lovely
Food has gone way downhill. Dishes very sporadic in quality. Too much money for what the food has become.
We had the most amazing dinner with the BEST service ever. Everything was timely, clean, covid-friendly, and delicious.
The food was amazing. Try the stir fried lamb in lettuce cups and the miso glazed sea bass in tea leaves! Paired with lobster spring rolls and crispy spinach, this was a light heavenly meal for two hungry people. I loved the Chinois Garden cocktail, vodka with basil and cucumber! The service was excellent, attentive and they were just really kind people. We had a cozy table in the open air with a great heater, truly comfortable.
Delicious food and top notch service. They have open air tables, one heater per table and hedges to block the tables from street traffic. It was an excellent experience overall.
The Chinese chicken salad and whole catfish are amazing !
Food excellent, lovely street scape adaptation.
Fabulous food! Great service! Lots of heat lamps in the outdoor dining area.
They will probably need a tent as the weather gets cooler. Loved the duck filled pancake appetizer. Highly recommended
Just about the best food and service in town. Forget the trendy spots - this is luxury. The cuisine is still innovative and spot-on after so many years, the waiters and Bella are incredibly attentive. It's a bargain compared to the disappointing "high-end" restaurants that so many people talk about these days. A total classic.
Food at Chinois on Main was fantastic! Some of the best food in Los Angeles, and if you enjoy Asian cuisine, then I would recommend Chinois on Main. Not one bad dish on the menu.
I came here on Halloween evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. The outdoor dining was warm and welcoming with Halloween decorations strategically placed around our table. I cannot say enough about the impeccable service provided by Mario. The short rib dish I ordered was delicious. This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Chinois is now my favorite!
Chinois is consistently one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. They have done a fantastic job setting up their outdoor dining to accommodate those who feel comfortable.....
So good, so inviting, so friendly. Have you ever gone to a restaurant for the first time. And midway through the meal you told yourself, I’m coming back here. That’s Chinois!
Haven’t been to Chinois in 10 years, but we were craving their lobster and their catfish signature dishes! Tables were outside because of Covid, so a lot of street noises. But, food was as good as we remembered! Worth the trip from the OC
