About Chino Chinatown at Trinity Groves
Chino is inspired by Chinese immigrants that came to South America from the southern province of Guangdong and Macau in the late 19th century. Due to lack of Asian ingredients, the Chinese adapted their cuisine with items available in the area, creating unique blends of Chinese cooking with Latin ingredients. They established “barrio Chinos” which translates to “Chinatown” in Latin American cities. Chino will transport people to this era of mystery and adventure.
Inspired by “barrio Chinos,” Uno Immanivong created Chino Chinatown, a destination for Chinese and Latin-influenced cuisine. The bar menu is motivated by the cocktail movement and features classic, hand-crafted drinks. The menu is a collaboration of Asian & Latin cooking styles and techniques.

Chino Chinatown at Trinity Groves Ratings and Reviews
I went on a double date here. I am from out of town and enjoyed to view and the setting of the establishment stood out. It was a busy Saturday night so it was a bit loud there, but there's not much anyone can do about that. The food was excellent and the price was at a good value for volume and quality. We enjoyed the service and did not have to wait long for our food. I would definitely eat here again.
Note* Parking for the Trinity Grove area fills up really quickly - so valet parking may be an only option if you choose a boomin' night there.
Great visit as usual! For some reason the lights went out and the owners were on it quickly. Before we knew it, all patrons had candles on each table, which was a very nice touch to correct what could have been worse. Thank you chino Chinatown for another great meal and social outing!
I wish I could give 50 stars!!! We had a party of 10, I was the only one that had been there before. My 9 guests were very impressed by food, ambiance, and waitstaff. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and they all appreciate how special they were made to feel. Jade is amazing!!! I am giving 5 stars from each of us!!!
Food was great, when the order was right. Service was awful, we had three different servers, never knowing who to ask for and some just seemed like they left the building without saying anything. They brought out food missing ingredients (like the meat) from two of the entrees and then brought it out 15 minutes later. Should have just waited until all the food was prepared properly and brought it out at the same time. Friends joined for drinks and were given menus but no one came back for 30 minutes to take their drink order which by that time we were leaving and the checks were messed up and had to be redone. We have been coming here for awhile now because we love the food but the service just keeps getting worse, may have to say goodbye, which is a shame.
Used to be one of my favorites but their sanitation has gone WAY down. Our napkins, plates, and rim of our glasses were very dirty. We requested 3 different changes due to their uncleanliness and finally just requested the check for the drink we had and decided to leave. I couldn’t bear the thought of what I was going to eat knowing how dirty everything was. The manager comped the check which was nice, but hard to imagine going back knowing how dirty everything was.
I have eaten here several times and the food and service have always been good until this visit. The wait staff were not friendly at all. Our order was wrong and no one apologized for the mistake. My daughter is allergic to eggs and asked for white rice. Her meal had fried rice so she had to send it back. Instead of making it fresh, they just scraped the toppings off and put it on white rice. The bill had to be corrected because they still tried to charge me extra for the fried rice which was their mistake. There are lots of choices in Trinity Groves to eat. I might have eaten for the last time at Chinos.
Overall, our experience was good. The bar was backed-up several times and we had to wait for drinks. The one big issue we had was that my Gluten-Free spouse was served a non-GF item even after he asked for clarification on the item. The server came back a minute later, after he'd already taken a bite, to tell him that no, the item (dessert) was NOT GF. Frustratingly, this caused digestive issues for my husband as he is allergic to wheat.
I really enjoyed the food and service from ChinoChinatown. I wish that I would have known ahead of time that the reservations could be indoors or out on the patio. I didn't mind eating outside, but I would have preferred to be indoor being as though I am 9 months pregnant. I just wanted to be a little cooler. The drunken noodles and duck fat fried rice were awesome! The shrimp cocktail was good I just wish it had more sauce and flavor. I will be going back :).
This was my second time at Chino and it didn't disappoint! Our app's and entrees were delish! We had the beef skewars, drunken noodles, layered salad, chicken&broccoli. Drinks were good, I had the mule, very tasty, and my friends had the chinorita, they loved. Marcus, our waiter, was helpful and nice. Free dessert for the birthday girl was a plus.
We saw reviews were mixed, but we tend to agree with the folks that enjoyed the restaurant. It is in the middle of Trinity Groves, so it will be busy and a touch loud, but we thought the overall setting was good. Solid bar drinks, limited beer selection. We had the Duck Fat Fried Rice which was excellent, and the other dishes we saw looked very good too.
Services was a little slow because it was a packed Friday night, but super friendly and got everything right. We'd go again.
I have always enjoyed Chino Chinatown. The food is wonderful, the duck fact fried rice is exceptional. The service is attentive, without being hovering. However, the number of flies has turned me off of the place. It was so bad that I had to cover my food with a napkin in order to talk or take a drink of my cocktail. I cannot ask my friends to dine there until that issue has been resolved. But, getting take-out is always an option.
The second time here, and my last. From the hostess, to the bar tender, simply poor. Training is required. Now I know why this place was empty while all the other places had full tables. Let me add the dish I had (drunken noddle w/ beef) was soaked in soy sauce was terrible.
