Fabulous. Food was great service was great and ambience was great
Great food. Fun Vibe!
What a fabulous meal! We did the tasting menu AND drink tasting menu. Everything was special and delicious. The menu offers a blend of vibrant flavors and it's absolutely worth visiting again (and again, I'm sure). We added on the When Pigs Fly BBQ pork steamed buns and the freshly made tableside guacamole to the tasting menu. Each dish was served and explained fully by the staff, no matter who it was to deliver. That's not something that happens everywhere, as often a dish is simply dropped off with no information. In the end, we had just a bit too much food, but it was worth it to have such an adventure in cuisine. Jose Andres, PLEASE open more China Poblano locations, preferably near Orlando. We're already looking forward to Jaleo opening here soon. Thank you amazing staff for a great night!
We decided to do the chef's tasting experience- ended up being one of the most creative ones I have ever had, with inventive cocktail pairing, but also one of the greatest deals based on a totally reasonable price. Definitely add on the guacamole and sticky buns - well worth it! The pairing of the desert - a light take on mango sticky rice with a mezcal Negroni- is easily one of the best pairings I have ever had.
Highly recommend and can’t wait to return - especially since on top of spectacular food, they gave us stellar service - a must in my book for a place to become a favorite.
My customers, as well as myself - 2 lunches in two days - enjoyed the 'different' atmosphere and offerings. We enjoyed it very much. The drink samplers were great as well.
Not very tasty. Very bland tacos. The chicken soup was good. Very expensive for such flavorless items. Would not recommend.
The food was ok, nothing really special about it. We shared Spring rolls, dumplings, noodles with shrimp and lettuce cups. The service was not good, ignored mostly. Not a cheap place, cool menu but not a lot of food given
China Poblano made our last night in Vegas and my birthday dinner spectacular.
It is hard to say anything bad as the service was exception. I don’t just mean prompt, I mean warm, caring, attentive, hospitable. That aside, really the food was not good, the seats were uncomfortable and the menu was not well balanced. So much for a two star Michelin chef.
Service was almost non-existent. I think we were bothering the server as they really did not seem to want to be working. As for the food it was extremely hit and miss with more miss. Fish tacos way over cooked. Guacamole was good as was the carnits tacos. The Sui Mie was not good. It was cold. The Dan Dan noodles took forever to come out. We had to ask twice. Then they were cold.
So much potential but there seemed to be a lack of focus on both food and service.
Some things were great some only ok. I expected better from a Michelin star chef!
The little stools are backless and uncomfortable for a long meal
Unique menu and good management. Reasonable prices. I eat there regularly
One of our favorite restaurants in Vegas! The food is life changing and the staff is very professional and helpful!
We were lucky to have a friend recommend this restaurant while we were in town for CaterSource. We asked the group near us what they liked and they said EVERYTHING. Food was awesome and we will be back.
Might have been the best lunch my wife have ever had. Great last meal at the cosmopolitan
We spent thousands of dollars eating at the nicest places in Vegas, and wouldn’t you know...this affordable little spot ended up being our favorite. Wonderful food, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, interesting menu. Do the chef’s tasting menu with the cocktail tasting. It’s worth it.
Interesting menu. Tasty food. Good service. Uncomfortable seating. Glad to have gone, wouldn't repeat.
We started with ordering cocktails off the special menu, the hair of the dog was tasty and savory as described. I ordered the “lucky” lamb off the special menu. It was described as an entree and when it arrived (it took a really long time, I understand there are two kitchens but we both ordered from the Asian menu and my friend had already eaten his by the time mine arrived). The dish I ordered was lamb skewers with oat noodles. There were three small bites of lamb and about 12 gemelli pasta sized noodles in broth. I rarely complain about portions (and if I do, it’s because they’re ridiculously huge!) but this was not an entree portion. My friend ordered the Dan Dan Mian noodles that came in a huge bowl that was 1/4 full. I think the flavors at the restaurant were ok, but not stellar enough to warrant the minuscule portions. When the server asked how it was - I stated that it wasn’t what I expected - I received a shrug and the check. Hate to be negative but this is why locals don’t venture to the strip...the food is underwhelming and not worth the drive and paying to park.
Unfortunately we were disappointed this trip, was a favorite for our family but other then the good guac, everything we ordered was less then we had come to expect... Jaleo was a far better experience.
It was our 20th wedding anniversary my husband and I chose to spend it in Vegas. As we were staying at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and seeing a show there that night, we chose to stay close. The decor was nice, my Mexican gin and tonic was great...and the service was prompt, attentive and very friendly.
So great! Loved every bite!!! Only downside was no vodka ;)
We were not sure if this Chinese/ Mexican mash works, but it actually does. Excellent quality of food, tasty and not necessarily the usual suspects on the menu. The only point of slight critique is portion size: Some dishes are massive, some rather small.
Service was attentive, ambience unspectacular. seating on the stools slightly uncomfy for a taller person.
Their signature Margaritas are delicious! Tableside guacamole with homemade tortillas are amazing! Great atmosphere, great food, definitely going back
Great service. Server was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly.
tasty food and beverages
This was our first time here and I have to say, that food was outstanding!
We received excellent service from the hostess to our wait staff. We ordered the table side Guacamole, it was delicious. The ceviche was more like a poke dish, still tasty, just not the typical ceviche expected . We shared the assorted Sui Mei (came with 6 pieces) dish with a dipping sauce Over all we enjoyed the food, presentation..
Very unique combination of Asian and Mexican food. The desert rice selection outstanding and different. I’ll do it again next trip
We enjoyed this restaurant very much. The menu choices were very fun. Our waitress did a good job of explaining the there were three kitchens and how the food would come out. The decor was very nice.
Really look at the menu prior to making a reservation. The music was too loud, a lot of the chairs do no have backs on them they are more like a padded stool.
Average at best.
We did the chef’s tasting menu, with drink pairing. The food is tasty, but way over priced for what you get. Atmosphere is neat, and the drinks are very good.
Ugh! Worst meal of our trip. Indifferent waiter. Really, really lousy food: chips greasy, salsa passable, hand rolled dim sum utterly forgettable, ceviche looked like raw chicken...with none of the flavor. Avoid the flat gin cocktail! The second of two Vegas restaurants that made us feel like tourists stuck in a tourist trap. While the salt foam margaritas were excellent, after all that, who cares?
Just a great all around place
Long wait for service. No refill on water or ice tea
Long wait to receive check.
This was our second time choosing China Poblano for our date night. Considering all of the options in Vegas, we rarely go to the same place twice! The salt foam margarita is literally craveable. The first time we did the chef’s tasting menu and everything was perfect. This time we decided to be a little more adventurous. Unfortunately, not everything on the menu is equal. It was 50/50. Half of our choices were 10/10 for taste, presentation and creativity. The other half was disappointing, and not what we’ve come to expect from Jose Andres. Favorite items of the night were the nopales taco and the golden pigs. Most disappointing was the Mongolian beef. The jury is still out on the XO noodles. My husband described them as interesting and ended up finishing them. I took two bites and did not want to go back for more.
Friendliest waitstaff and incredible management
My wife and I had our favorite shared meal again here--When Pigs Fly dumplings, 20 vegetable fried rice with chicken and shrimp added, and classic margaritas. Everything was superb, as it has been in the past. We get extra soy sauce and hot sauce to spice things up. China Poblano is on our must-visit list for our annual week visit to Las Vegas.
Great service and the quality of the food was outstanding. Our waiter was very professional and took care of all our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Chinese or Mexican dishes of any kind.
