China Poblano - The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
The hostess was very rude and unfriendly! However, once we spoke to the manager, all got straightened out and the remainder of the experience was great! The food and waitress service were great. Tip: when making a reservation, specifically state you want a table “inside” the restaurant, not outside in the walkway. You’ll have a totally different and better experience inside. The ceviche without the tostada was amazing! The rest of the food played a very close second.
Service was really beyond neglectful. Food was just ok. We didn't receive plates to eat from for one course. On the next one we received the plates but no silverware. Finally gave up after asking for our waitress for 10 minutes as then the steak was cold. Asked for the bill at that point and didn't take the final course or dessert. No offer to reduce the bill for the food we never received or apologize for not actually providing utensils to eat. What we did eat was just average Mexican and Chinese food. With so many good restaurants at this hotel and surrounding hotels you should try someplace else.
Food was very good, fusion cuisine works in this place, unlike some others that try but don't meld the flavors as nicely. Portions decent sized, was able to share the dumplings and not feel like I shouldn't have! Service was efficient and friendly. Ambiance fun, would have preferred real chairs instead of the backless cubes we sat on but that's because I'm an old guy...
Once again, this place never disappoints. I love this place for some many reasons. The only thing I would change is to have more comfortable chairs/seating. I had the pleasure of meeting Edgar the manager this trip and he was a delight. He is so customer attentive, professional and easy to talk to. What a great menu this place has with fresh ingredients and innovative and vibrant cocktails. Don't miss this place in the beautiful Cosmopolitan. The staff here is some of the best I have experienced. Can't wait to go back!
We had our New Year’s Eve dinner here. I’m glad we made reservations, because the hostess was turning away those without reservations. We are from Texas, so we are accustomed to Tex-Mex cuisine. The restaurant’s salsa did not disappoint! It was smoky and delicious! We also enjoyed the Dim Sum. Friendly waitstaff and good value considering good prices in Vegas.
I wanted to like this place more than I did because the fusion of Asian and Latin food sounds great. But the items aren’t at all creative. They are standard Mexican or Chinese and not particularly well executed, at that.
I had chips and salsa, which were fine (its hard to mess that up). My dinner companion and I both ordered the ala carte tacos. They were tiny (seriously, the size of the palm of your hand) and not spectacular given the $6-$8 *per taco* pricetag.
It was crowded and loud and the vast majority of the seating is on ottoman-like stools that give you no place to hang a purse or lean back and relax.
For the money, there are plenty of other places that are better. Skip this place.
We chose Chinese dishes rather than Mexican. They were smaller tasting plates and they were delivered in the sequence we requested and at a sensible pace. The food was good if less well seasoned than in a traditional Chinese restaurant. The server was helpful and we enjoyed our meal. Its a noisy place and not suitable for all occasions but overall good value and I a happy to recommend it.
I know it's Vegas but $20 for the small bowl of rice was just too much. The ambiance is what you pay for. The food was tasty and the presentation was very nice. Just really over priced. I was still hungry when I left and ate almost $100 worth of food? The service was also very good.
We had a reservation for 7pm and couldn't make it at that time, I called and they were so accommodating. We got in, for a later time. I had also made some allergy requests at the time I made the reservations, and again the waitress was aware and made us feel taken care of and that our request were no problem. We had a great meal, had lots of options to choose from and left full and sooo happy!
