The restaurant week menu was a rip off with added charges and one entree choice per two people. Portions were supposed to depend on number of people, but similar amounts were at tables with two, three and four people. In addition, service was terrible. Overall, this experience was a big disappointment.
I really enjoyed my experience at china grill overall, the food was really good and I didn't at all feel rushed or forced to eat fast. however it was extremely busy and even though I had a reservation I wasn't seated until twenty minutes after. Our waitress seemed really nice and attentive at first but after she toke our order I haven't seen her until she came for the bill. They also screwed up my bill and added the tip automatically when it was only a table for two. I would not have tip her that much because she never checked up on us but I just paid it and left.
amazing food but so so expensive
I had not been to China Grill in a number of years. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the experience, The
Restaurant Week offering was generous for two and very, very fine. I'm sorry I waited to many years to return -
it won't be years hence. My guest from Cincinnati was enchanted.
My dinning experience was quite surprising. I took my friend there for lunch to celebrate her b-day and the service was outstanding. The waiter check on use multiple time and our glasses were never empty. In addition to, the service the food was also great, I've been to Asia De Cuba many times and China Grill (their sister restaurant) lived up to the hype. Overall my dinning experience was great!! I definitely plan to revisit.
I have been to China Grill many times and it never a disappointing experience. Great food, great service. The new dish was lobster pancakes and I thought they weren't as great as the rest of the food. Otherwise, an amazing time.
I arrived on time for my reservation for a party of 2 only to wait 10 minutes before having to ask a maitre'd for a table. I was notified that I would have to wait 45 minutes for my table, despite confirming my reservation earlier that day and arriving on time. There was nowhere to wait and the staff was less than helpful. We did not stay and I will never go back to that restaurant again.
Great during restaurant week, otherwise it might be quite expensive for lunch
Too loud but food was great. Kids didn't like the sound of the entrees but loved them when they came.
The food was surprisingly disappointing. The quality was no better than any corner Chinese food take-out restaurant -- which wouldn't be so bad if the tab didn't come to more than $100 for two people.
I had always wanted to dine at China Grill, particularly during Restaurant Week. I was a little put-off by the shared menu items, but had faith that the portion sizes would be suited for 2 people... Unfortunately the portion sizes were not worth the $35 dinner pre-fixe price, and the food was less than stellar. Although tasty, the choices were basically glorified mall food. I expected more...
I have been to China Grill many times. It is my favorite Asian restaurant. I was there on Monday, January 25th with six people. The food was great but the watress had an attitude - rude. I forgot that for 6 people the tip was included (see below).
My dining experience at China Grill was great. Our waiter Nick was attentive, funny and got our food very fast. We did not have to wait long for our food which was important to us because we had to see a play right after dinner. The ambiance was great, romantic, lively and simply beautiful. Last but not least the food was delicious and the price was reasonable. We spent about $300 for 4 people it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this place and I plan to go back again.
The food was good, but very expensive for what was served. Not a good value.
China Grill - always reliable and a good choice!
great for a special occasion --- price a bit high --- drinks are top shelf
Hi - I have been to China Grill before and this visit was only mediocre.
We went there for lunch for a special occasion. Food was absolutely phenomenal. Service started out great with 2 waitresses (one was trainee). During the midst of the lunch, our waitress staff changed where we were not being taken care of for half an hour. We did not mind as the ambience and food kept us busy, and we were not in a rush. Will definitely go back there again.
I liked the portions provided for easy sharing.
This is not the first or the last time I will be eating at China Grill. I was there for my birthday dinner and I was very happy with the meal, the service and the atmosphere. It has been my favorite for many years and I repeatedly go back because the food is always consistently good, the mojitos are great and the staff is very professional and accomodating. I was totally satisfied and then some. I will probably be back sooner than later to eat there again.... Great job !!! Maria
The service was terrible; the waiter was obnoxious, made a load of meaningless and annoying comments and careless. Everything from water to orders was getting mixed up. The amount of food we ordered was not enough and when we asked for more, we were told that the kitchen is already closed. The drinks were mixed poorly and were tasteless. $300.00 later we left the restaurant hungry and disappointed. Never coming back. Don’t waste the money. It has been a long time since I have been so disappointed in a restaurant.
Too expensive for what we received back.
This was the second time, my husband and I had dinner at the China Grill, in two weeks. Last week we met his cousins and then since we enjoyed it so much, we took our daughter there, this week. The food was just as delicious.
i thought that the service, food and ambiance were great as always!!!
Great restaurant with huge quantities. Price reasonnable. A little bit noisy.
I have been to China Grill many times but this time was kind of a letdown. The service was mediocre and the food was not as good as it usually is. I found a large duck bone in my duck salad, which I almost choked on which was not fun. I told the waitress and she comped us for the salad and dessert. She said Dessert included coffee and cappuccinos but when the bill came she charged us for the cappuccinos. We told her about her mistake and she quickly fixed it. It definitely was not a seamless meal but it was still romantic and a fun night out.
has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years, in South Beach as well. Great social meeting place with over the top food!
What a great experience. Every dish we tried was excellent!! Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!
Everything we ate was delicious. I was especially impressed with the wait staff.
Food was brilliant, staff excellent, we will return
Service is family style, which can be messy, and no one cleaned the table off after each course. They also opened the back door for guests to come and go, in 18 degree weather-it was totally freezing. The people at the table next to us got sorbet between two courses, but we didn't and had ordered the same food. The food was great; the service so-so.
Excellent overall experience: One slight complaint was that the lobster pancakes (excellent), were not hot enough as if prepared ahead of time.
The food is fabulous. The lobster roll appetizer was one of our favorites. For four of us we ordered three dishes and the one appetizer to share and this was plenty of food for 3 young men and one lady. Must try the crispy spinach - very unique way to eat your greens! Our waiter was a little slow and sometimes too talkative but overall the experience was great.
Had always loved China Grill from years ago so was looking forward to enjoying a delicious meal on Christmas Eve. Must have been a bad night in the kitchen. Crispy spinach was greasy. Drunkn chicken and ribs were dry..Food brought to the table piecemeal. Not told until 10 minutes after ordering dessert, had run out. For a $200 dinner. Will not return again.
We returned to China Grill with a friend, having been there last several years ago. Again we enjoyed great food and great service. We were grateful we heeded our waiter's advice and shared plates. The food is plentiful and great for sharing.
Really amazing food. I was with a party of 7 for our department holiday party and I had no doubt that China Grill will live up to my department's standards. Even the pickiest eaters loved the food. Our favorite was the banana dessert in the tower of sugar wafer.
My wife and I had the tasting menu...amazing! All the items exceeded our expectations...especially the lobster pancake! Can't wait to go back!!!
not the "china grill" of yesterday
China Grill is still popular, but for its high prices ($20-36 per dish) food and service should be much better. Can't recommend the lamb ribs at all; duck fried rice needed more seasoning, or at least salt or soy sauce on the table. We were there late as they were winding down, so wait staff kept coming by every three minutes to try and sell us more drinks.
I had heard great things but unfortunately our experience was less than great. It was cold in the dining room, the music was too loud and the food was fatty and of insufficent quantity for the price. We were less than impressed.
