Chima Steakhouse - Philadelphia
Everything was fine until i was lied to stating that when they comp meals that automatically add the tip! That would of been fine if i wasn’t there 2 days ago with the same type of situation due to the fact that the first time i was there on my birthday we had a bad experience and returned on the 16th, provided the comps, no tip was forced on us and even tipped above the suggested amount!
Server short handed himself because i was going to tip him 30% but since he wanted to lie and say it’s automatically included he just got his standard 18% here is proof of both situations!
Not sure if because i was black and got my meal comped he felt as if i wasn’t going to tip. But the server on the 16th didn’t force a tip on us and it was again the same situation!
I will prob never return to this restaurant again!!!! And it’s amazing because I’m a contributing writer to a few publications in this city as well as a contributing writer for a few major blogs that i may report on!
It was my anniversary. Our server gave us a complimentary dessert in addition to the one we ordered. Both were delicious. The only gripe was the corn didn’t make its way to us but everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the leg of lamb.
This was our first time dining at Chima Brazilian steakhouse. We were a party of 6 and the service was awesome. The food was delicious and the atmosphere felt festive and not at all stuffy. I can't wait to go back! Great price for all the food offered.
My husband and I went for our 2 year Anniversary. I wanted the night to be perfect and it was! The staff was great. The ambiance was good and the food, OMG the food! Let just say I fell asleep in the car on the way home. Total food coma! We will be back, Thanks Chima!
Booked this for my husband’s bachelor party dinner. We have been here before and always a great time. Only complaint I have is, I booked a table for 10 guys and asked for a round table to be off to the side. The guys arrived and they put them in the center of the room without a round table.
Finally one man said something and they were told they could be moved but would have to squeeze. I know it’s sounds stupid, although it’s a party of 10 larger men for a bachelor party! They don’t want to squeeze together, especially when spending $1,600. I am little annoyed that I took the time to call not once but twice and still wasn’t accommodated what was asked.
Best meat I ever had gentle on the stomach which shows its quality.

I was celebrating my birthday with my husband and it was nice I was served a complimentary dessert at the end of my meal. I felt that our waiter was rushing us a bit. I think he was assigned too many tables. Also, there was a bit of a language barrier because the waiter had an accent and spoke very fast making his english not clear. The food was good but the various meats did not have the same quality as our visit many years ago. In addition, the salad bar used to be better with more of a selection.
Loved it! Our server was very nice and checked on us often. The gauchos were fun to watch, they didn't miss a table, almost as if it were a choreographed dance. The food was delicious and plentiful.
It was amazing. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. I introduced my 17 daughter to fine dining and she was very surprised and enjoyed every moment.

Service 2 (we had 2 drinks filled to the rim from the bar and the server offered coke - twice., perhaps it was just an oversight on her end. The 2 stars was given because we were just a party of 2 she added a 18% tip., while we tip 20% plus., we felt awkward by her comment of “I added the tip to your bill already” as if we were not going to tip.
Overall, we will be back next month.

Service is usually good but on this day the Gaucho service (particularly the lobster one) was bad. I would have expected the restaurant to anticipate a higher number of patrons coming just for the final day of the Lobster Mondays promotion. Those patrons who did not sit close to the kitchen area where the Gauchos come out from were subject to long wait time for the lobster. It is understandable that the lobster takes awhile to prepare but the Gauchos should have had different routes out of the kitchen as those who were seated around that area got served first all the time while those who seated further had to wait.
We had party of 6, we were sitting right in front of the kitchen. When we were just sat down the food came right after which was great, however after an hour no one came to our table to serve us with food. 6 of us had the cards on all the time and only the same person with top sirloin came 2 times in an hour, no one else did. At the end we asked the server for check since no one wanted to serve us anymore and told her about the situation, she thought we wanted the lobsters since it’s lobster Monday, but that it’s not about the lobsters we were asking it’s about they meat! How can they walked right pass us without serving us with food when we had the cards on ALL the time? Can they tell that our plates are empty? Worst experience ever spent $75/person and left with empty stomachs.

Gabby was great and for a meat-eater, it is surely heaven. The salad bar is extensive and quite good. Its a large venue but we went on a rainy Monday, so it was quiet. I am already planning a trip back.
Great food and even better service. Definitely making that place my go to for any occasion.

This time around the service was great, as it normally is. Everything was in order and perfect. Thanks to the GM for the complimentary rodizios to offset the "not up to par" service we experienced during our visit during restaurant week.

This is my 3rd times eating here. I love the cheese bread with turkey spread and mash potatoes. There are variety selection for the salad bar.

The staff is always very accommodating and professional. My dessert wasn't up to par and they removed it from the bill and offered me a replacement, which I declined, but the thought was very nice. The grilled pineapple was amazing! Everything af usual was very good!
Chimas is a pretty cool restaurant but my fiancee and I were very disappointed that they no longer have pork ribs... That's why we went! The ribs were excellent and the sauce is amazing. But no more rib so we won't be back.
Always happy when I come here! Everything was on point tonight, the food, the service, the ambiance! Tonight, the waitress was especially kind and accommodating, and the food was extra delicious tonight! Will always find a reason to come back!
Service was very poor I paid for lobster Monday got only two lobster had to wait hours to get service I spent damn near 200 dollars and that was a waist of my money it was like we where not at a table
My reservation was for 7PM. We got there at 655 and were not seated until 740. This was after complaining to the manager who was receiving complaints from several patrons. We even watched a few parties walk out due to the lack of urgency from the host staff. Once seated our server was quick to greet us and get us drinks. About 2/3 of the way through dinner the manager came over and asked us of there was anything he could get for us. We asked if he could have 3 lobster tails sent to the table as this is a special they run on mondays. About 15 minutes went by and they still hadn't come so our server put in the order two more times of the next half hour. Finally we gave up and just asked for the check. Would you believe they had the nerve to add an 18% gratuity on a party of 3!!!!! I was so irritated but the pace they move at would have resulted in another half hour wait to speak to the manager and get this adjusted. We just paid the bill. We will never dine here again.

Before this experience yes, me family and I where celebrating my birthday. We understood it was restaurant week but we opted out and got the full menu per normal. It was all you can eat lobster night. The server who was bring the lobster to the table disappeared for almost 45 minutes. When we asked what was going on we where told the server believed that everyone was eating to much lobster he only served it to the people he believed should have it. We also waited and waited for so many items after our waiters had told us they had requested them multiple times. It was really disheartening and frustrating because my family and I love Chimas. We where treated poorly and most likely would never return
I visited with my daughters and the service and food were both great. I really enjoy the modern feel of the restaurant and the service is executed very well. This is a moderately priced restaurant with a great deal of choices to accommodate most diners.
It always took them so long to bring the cuts we wanted.
I waited once more than 25 minutes for them to bring the filet mignon.
Not all the things coming out of the kitchen made it to all the tables.

One waiter was making fun of us and making faces, because we didn't know that Picanha is the same as Top Sirloin, which in fact is not exactly the same.
I will definitely not go again, service is poor and even rude. So, there is better places were to spend the money to get similar or even better quality of food.
The reservation was for 9:45 but we got in early. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The level of service was great and the Gorgonzola mousse is to die for!
