Chima Steakhouse - Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
It is very overpriced , we expected much more . My husband and I were there for our anniversary. The pork loin was very dry and the ribs were ok . I had a lemon drop martini that cost $17 . My husband had a ice tea and my check was $180 . The salad bar was ok , the waiter was attentive . And you still have to pay for vallet parking . Not a meal that i am going to remember or recommend.
Have been to Chima before, but only to sit outside for drinks and appetizers. If it's not a humid south Florida evening it's okay. If you want to "pig out" and spend $56 this is the place. Service is okay , but it's very noisy and when I am spending a lot, for me it was too much. The salad bar is good, has many choices. If I were to go again, would probably get the salad bar only for $36. Chicken and fish are available with the salad bar. Tried most of the meat choices, most are too salty for my taste.
We haven't been to Chima for a number of years. We decided to put a fun group together and go. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed. We had to continually ask for everything....sirloin, veggies, lamb chops, etc. Everything. They did bring flank steak by several times without being asked and unfortunately that wasn't good. It was over-salted.
It wasn't very busy the night we went, yet we were sat in a corner, near a bussing station. It was tight and very busy. Sadly, this will be the last time we eat at Chima for quite a while.
My daughter and I went to Chima for New Year's Eve dinner. We usually go for her birthday, as she is quite the meat eater. It didn't disappoint. Food is always right on point. Fantastic and varied salad bar. Great accompaniments to the meal. We enjoyed a variety of the meats and LOVED the addition of grilled pineapple - it tasted just like apple pie actually. We were too full for dessert, but the dessert options are usually quite good as well. Pretty place to eat, family friendly, tourist friendly and special occasion friendly. We will be back and highly recommend, but you must love meat!
Our server did an excellent job and the whole staff was very attentive. The manager came to see us which is always a plus. We had a package NYE price that included a glass of champagne. We don’t drink so our waiter suggested a couple of Virgin Pina Coladas which were great!
Whenever my family is in Ft. Lauderdale, we ALWAYS visit Chima. The feast starts before you even enter the restaurant, as you take in the beautifully appointed patio with its overstuffed chairs and torch centered tables, perfect for cocktails and conversation before beginning your meal.
Once inside you'll be seated and greeted, and if you are new to Chima, your waiter will acquaint you with the subtleties of Brazilian Rodizio dining. Pay attention: the meats and other grilled fare move about the floor quickly, and a slow turn of your card indicating you're ready for your next serving could see the Filet or Sirloin whisked away before you could raise your tongs to grab the next succulent bite.
But first order a drink. A range of wines and beers are available to pair with the meats, and then move to the salad bar with its decadent assortment of fresh vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, fruits and seafood.
As you finish your salad, your waiter will come to replace your plate for the main course: tender grilled cuts of beef, pork and beef ribs, lamb, chicken, sausage and salmon, along with two wonderful new offerings, grilled vegetables and grilled pineapple. Sample any and all that you please, along with creamy mashed potatoes, fried polenta and plantains and the light and airy cheese rolls. In no time you will be well versed in eyeing the servers as they approach your table and turning your card to signal a stop and a slice or two of what's on their skewer.
And when you have finally satisfied your inner carnivore, treat your sweet tooth to one of the delicious dessert options, where chocolate and creams are well represented, along with several other fruit infused offerings. Pair it with a coffee or after dinner drink to cap off a truly remarkable dining experience.
Admittedly, Chima is pricey, but for that special occasion or just to treat yourself and family and friends to an extraordinary night out, in Ft. Lauderdale there's no better place than Chima.
We have visited Chima many times. We celebrated my sister's Christmas birthday (on Christmas) and the service was extraordinary (it always is), but especially since it was Christmas! Our main server Kevin was a total gem. Super attentive in every way! All the other servers were super lovely (especially since I have a very demanding German mother)....they treated her with kindness and got her whatever she asked for. An absolutely lovely experience!
The dining experience at Chima was positively memorable. The quality of the salad bar was excellent. The servers were very friendly and helpful. The selection of fine quality cuts of meats was outstanding. The homemade apple strudel and ice cream is for desert is worth tasting! Definitely would dine here again!
All of the meats had an off flavor. I noticed a lot of the meats were just reheated and over done. The salad bar was nothing to rave about. I’ve had much better experiences at other Brazilian steakhouses in South Florida. This was my first and will be my last time dining there.
The food is good, the authentic Brazilian Barbecue, but you have to be very careful with the waiter questions, despite I request still water at the beginning of our lunch, he asked to my son before refill if he’d like MORE “bottle water”. It was clear for me that it was a trick question, as my son just answer yes for more water, they started to bring a BOTLE water without even asking which brand we’d like, it was a shame for a restaurant like that, the food is over average and I think they don’t need to make this kind of trick question for a CHILD just to get $7 more per bottle when your bill will be over $300 for 4 anyway.
I do not leave the restaurant just because it was our Christmas lunch.
