Chima Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
I typically enjoy Chima, however this was not the best trip. We waited close to an hour past our reservation time, and once we were seated the meats we got were all either cold or over cooked. The staff was very nice and towards the end of the evening we were able to get hot medium rare meats. Also, the wine list was great. It ended on a good note but overall not impressed with this Chima location.
It has been a year since we were at this Chima last. Wait staff was not attentive at all tonight. Had to flag staff down and ask for drink refills, ask to have the table cleared, ask for coffee/desert, and ask for the check. No one asked if we wanted more wine during the meal. Gauchos were all fine, though. Food was ok, not great. Lots of the same 3-4 meats being brought around... We remembered more variety last time. Disappointing this time.
This was our second dinner at Chima's. the food was good but service this time was too slow.
For the money we expect excellent service, may have been an off night, just a little disappointing. We took my daughter for her birthday dinner. We will most likely try someplace else next time we have a special occasion.
Our table was too close to the salad bar, and took a long time for meat offerings. Drinks took forever, ran out of time for coffee after our meal.
It was a great experience being a first time visit to a Brazilian Steakhouse. The salad bar was excellent with varied choices and the meats that were brought out were all very tasty. Definitely not a place to try if you are not an adventurous eater however.
Our server aliani (i can’t remember how to spell it) was absolutely amazing. It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was phenomenal and service was exceptional. Everyone went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible. I the head chef came out multiple times to check on us and was very kind and attentive. I cannot say enough good things about my night there. I will definitely be going back.
Great Thanksgiving alternative this year when I did not cook. The salad -appetizer bar is abundant, fresh and authentic. The gorgonzola mouse was delicious but there was plenty more to try. The meats were very good especially the House beef. International crowd, great service, a super fun experience. They also offered poached salmon that was quite lovely.
It was ok. Not as good as the 1st time we were here. Our server wasn't attentive at all. It seemed as though one of the others servers was taking care of us more than she was. We also had to request the specific items and temperature that we wanted. The gauchos either kept bringing stuff we didn't want or it was overcooked. Not what we're used to from a Brazilian steakhouse. We have been to Fogo de Chao & Chama Gaucha both in Atlanta and others in Florida Las vegas and other areas and the experience at this one did not come near to any if those . To top it off it was my birthday. The waiter that was taking care of us did bring me a slice of Amazing cheesecake. But other than that we weren't feeling it at all.
Excellent customer service. My husband and I have been going out here for over 3years now and the service is impeccable. The food is awesome as well. The manager's , especially the female manager is sooooo welcoming and has an outstanding consistent positive personality. Our chima rice is always provided upon our request. It's always a delight dinning at the uptown location. We referred my husband's colleagues from the hospital to this location for their get together and they were more than pleased with the service.
Came to celebrate our 4 year anniversary with our 4 year old. They treated her so nicely and friendly. The food was great, strongly seasoned which you need when roasting meats. Aline was super friendly and personable. Treated our little one to strawberries and chocolate sauce while we enjoyed a complimentary anniversary dessert. Corkage fee is high at $35. If you don't want to pay it, don't bring your own wine. Simple as that. We will be sure to stop by again when we are in Charlotte.
Went as a family and enjoyed the entire experience. The meats are quite varied and it took us a bit to narrow down our favorites. My wife stuck with the salad bar and was overwhelmed with options. Everyone who worked there was gracious and upbeat. We had a lot of fun.
I have been to this restaurant before and it was a few years ago. It was a Friday night and it was pretty much empty. I can see why ,the price for the meal was not listed anywhere just till you got the check. They have really gotten expensive and not worth the $. I could have done better going to Ruth Chris or Morton's. The main waiter checked on the table twice. How do you tip for that....You really did not do anything. We had to ask for water and drinks. The price has really gotten out of hand and is not worth the value. Also many parts of the meat served was burnt and the table finger foods were ice cold. For $250.00 I expected more
Waited more than 10 minutes to get a simple cocktail and even then it arrived incorrect....not once, but twice. Kept skipping past our table with meat service. Had to keep flagging wait staff down to be served and had to keep asking for our preferred meat options. Had salmon and sausage offered many, many times, but couldn't get them to come by with beef options. We've been to this location in the past with good service. Not sure what the issue was this particular evening.
No one eyes fine to the table with the meats. We had to ask the server twice fur then to visit the table. They never asked my daughter's age and charged us for an adult price. Service was terrible. They weren't even busy. Very disappointed. We are regular customers and have been traveling from Columbia for years.
Overall the experience was ok. I wouldnt go back due to the price/ quality of food ratio. The cold bar was nothing to write home about and most of the meats lacked any real flavor or uniqueness besides the house special. The servers never asked us how we liked our meat cooked and almost everything was medium to well even after we requested medium rare. We had a nice time and the staff was very friendly but the price was too much for ok food.
The service here is phenomenal in regard to your waiters. The gauchos cne around a lot at first but slow way down too soon. Salad bar is amazing. Most of the meats are great. But it's way way overpriced for what it is. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine and a coffee $189.. there is no way you can eat that much meat to make it worth it.
We had a great time for my boyfriend's birthday. The staff was great, food was excellent. (The ribs were dry, but everything else we had was delicious!) There was another big party at the restaurant, so it was kind of loud at times, but nothing we felt ruined the dining experience. We did not save room for dessert, but staff brought us a piece of tiramisu and we couldn't resist!
