My Boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time! Food was amazing, however I wish the salad bar was a little better, the soup was not hot.
Absolutely fabulous service from the entire staff and of course the food was outstanding. We had a really fun time and ate ourselves into a stupor. We will return.
Business dinner. The service was excellent. Food quality was also excellent with top quality cuts of beef. The buffet table had a nice variety of fresh sides. My colleagues enjoyed their cheesecake but was not fond of the Brazilian themed 3 poudings. All in all, great ambience and a worthwhile restaurant to visit.
Thanks food was great the chicken was a little over cooked and dry but everything else was very good.the staff was excellent all of them It was a great experience that everyone should try.
Muy bueno. Muy recomendable
Food & service were excellent. Many culinary delights to choose from.
The staff @ Chima treat you like royalty!
Absolutely amazing. Food was outstanding and staff was wonderful
Great service and loved the grilled vegetables.
Went on a Sunday. All the pork items were very dry and none of the meat was medium rare. All the meats just seemed to be recycled and not cooked fresh. Probably very good on a busy night, but horrible on Sunday.
The food was delicious and the waiters were amazing to deal with. Alot of the meat was being served medium rare, and I guess I mentioned it once or twice.. Then a few of the carvers had the meat cooked longer and specifically brought it back to me.. It definitely made me feel like they cared.. Great experience and I will be going back soon. They made my birthday memorable!
Salad bar is fantastic and unrivaled. Service is very efficient and cordial. Unbelievable amount of meats to choose from. Only one sirloin was slightly overcooked. The rest was delicious.
Great food! Very friendly stuff!!! Good service !!! Little bit over price😉
We came to Chima for my husband’s birthday. Our reservation was for 8 PM and we arrived at 7:30 and they seated us right away. After getting drinks, the food was immediately brought around. Through the course of the night, 4 different employees including the manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was OK and asked if we needed anything. The Brazilian rum cocktail is amazing and comes in a lot of flavors. The meat is to die for- always perfectly cooked and if you especially like one cut, you can have them bring it back around. At the end of dinner, they even brought out a little cheesecake that said Happy Birthday. My husband was blown away. Thank you Chima staff!!
Loved the salad bar, which I probably could’ve had as just my entree. The meats were amazing and the service was impeccable. Perfect spot for the special occasion we were celebrating!
Everything on the salad bar taste like it had lemon on it. Even the Waldorf salad.
We celebrated our one year anniversary here and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The lamb is DIVINE!!!! A bit pricey, but good for special occasions. Service was magnificent!
My wife and were visiting from Connecticut and took our daughter to Chimas for her 23rd Birthday. We loved the ambiance and the food. ( an there was plenty of it! 😋) Our server was very polite and mostly attentive to our service needs. We would definitely visit again when in Charlotte NC!
As usual, Chima did not disappoint. The food, ambiance, and service were impeccable. I recommend this location for special occasions, as well as general dates/dinner.
Great food & service. Never fails to amaze me!
The overall experience was great. My best advise to everyone; sit upstairs where it is less noisy. Seemed as if more families with kids where seated downstairs. Lighting upstairs was great for a romantic feel.
One word.... Amazing! We had such a great time! We had a friends night out while visiting old friends. I live in Va and love the Charlotte area!
We had a great dining experience. It is a beautiful place and the service is exceptional. We had the salad/food bar which comes with salmon and chicken served at the table. The food is exceptional with several interesting, unique dishes. We had two minor issues.
1) Being seniors the valet parking is important. The place opened at 5 PM and our reservation was for 5 PM. Unfortunately, the valet does not set up until 5 PM. We had to circle the block a few times until they were ready.
2) The salmon was a little too dry for our taste. That was not a problem as the chicken and everything else was exceptional. However, the waiter passed my comment on to the manager and she came to apologize and offer to have some prepared to our liking. Just the right way to handle this!
Celebrated my fiance 50th Birthday here. The food was delicious and our service was excellent. Will definitely be coming back here again for dinner.
Service and food was exceptional, as well as complementary valet parking.
Valet parking is provided for free, however allow extra time to get that accomplished both before and after the meal. The food was yummy with several gluten free options on the salad bar and even delicious gluten free parmesan dinner rolls. The selection on the salad bar was extensive. The meat selections were varied and most were well done. It is a steak house so we were not surprised when the chicken was dry and the salmon was bland. Everything else was fantastic, including the tiramisu for dessert. My son thoroughly enjoyed his 16th birthday celebration.
Our experience was good.. very good. Nothing went wrong... it just wasn’t anything special. Food was fine, drinks were fine. Service was fine.
Too expensive for the quality of the food.
You have way better options uptown with half the price they charge
We had an excellent experience from the time we were seated until the time we left. Our servers were exceptional and the food came frequently. The food was excellent as well. To end the evening, my daughter left her purse on her chair and they chased us down to return it to us. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Dined at Chima's on March 17th. We were entertaining out of town guests and they requested we go to Chima's for dinner during their stay, as this is their favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Everything was great.
Very, very good food! Seasoned well, cooked superbly, served with a smile. A must go to place for that special night.
I have been here several times and I'm never disappointed. The lamb is always my favorite! The servers are always friendly, food is always hot and delicious.
Chima's Restaurant was great in all respects. I have eaten same style restaurants in Brazil, San Francisco and other cities. Chima's restaurant ranked at top in terms of service, food and ambiance.
My boyfriend and I brought in my parents for their first Chima experience and the entire night was simply perfect. From the food to the service my parents loved absolutely everything. Their only issue was the noise level. My father is hard of hearing so it was sometimes difficult for him to here, but other than that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. But, servers were hard to get a hold of after they gave you your drinks and instructions.
This was our 28th Anniversary dinner. The meat selection was great. The Lamb Chops and the Filet Mignon were excellent. The service was great. The only thing that ruined it was a young lady that was celebrating her birthday with too much to drink accompanied with a very loud personality. Sitting at the table in front of us with her in that seat facing our table. She left and there was a moderate amount of crowd noise that seemed like silence. Otherwise a 5 star rating.
Good but food did not move around room quick
Me and my parents ate here for my dad's birthday last night, but we should've gone down the street to Ruth's Chris or The Capital Grille to get much better food at a cheaper price. I have no idea how this place is rated a 4.4. I expected for this place to be upscale and provide us with a nice dining experience, but it was far from that.
First of all, the "salad" bar is absolutely terrible. There was literally two types of salad and the rest of the bar was filled with a bunch of random crap that they want you to fill up on.
When they started bringing around the meats, it was another letdown. When you're paying $60 a person, everything should be of the highest quality. That was not the case here. To be honest, I said no to most of the meats they brought around because they just didn't look good. I don't want to pay that much money to eat pork loin and beef pork ribs. I only saw them take the filet around two times the entire time we were there. They brought the filet to our table once, and it was not impressive at all. All of the steaks they brought out were extremely undercooked. They only offer it to you medium or medium rare. I typically get my steak cooked medium, but their version of medium is medium rare at the most. The "sides" that they bring out to you are disgusting as well. The "creamy mashed potatoes" were like a gravy. The two best things I had the entire night were the fried banana and the grilled pineapple.
Besides the food being terrible, the noise level was out of control. So many people eating there brought their kids and just let them run around the place like wild hyena's. I don't care if people bring their kids to a restaurant, but when you are paying that much to eat somewhere that is supposed to be nice it shouldn't feel like an upscale Chuck E. Cheese.
If you care more about quantity than quality, then this is the place for you. Needless to say, after getting ripped off and paying $275 including tip... I won't be back!!
The food was great ! However the overall experience not so much. I came all the way from Greensboro NC (1 hr 40 mins away from Chimas) We wasted 20 minutes trying to find complimentary parking provided by Chimas. Finally we pulled up out front and told the Valet guy that we aren't going to be able to eat if we don't go in because the last seating is at 9:30 and it was 9:22 ! He acted as is he couldn't walk a few steps to get my car and park it. The way you have to get to the valet area is complicated. Luckily it was an open parking spot across the street. Finally we go in and get seated and immediately go to the salad bar. As soon as we sat down the meats started coming non stop and it was confusing because none of or cards were flipped on the orange side. So a manager came and asked how was everything and I told him it's our first time and that we don't understand why they keep coming when our chips say no thank you. They stopped for awhile then they kept coming. Come to find out the kitchen was closing and we were being rushed. I don't care what time you close if I'm paying nearly $100 for a meal I expect it to be everything from the service to the food ETC. They got at least $250+ from my table. Although this happened I will definitely go again because the food was delicious but I'll never go that late again because I wasn't able to fully enjoy it with all that happened.
