Chima Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Came to celebrate our 4 year anniversary with our 4 year old. They treated her so nicely and friendly. The food was great, strongly seasoned which you need when roasting meats. Aline was super friendly and personable. Treated our little one to strawberries and chocolate sauce while we enjoyed a complimentary anniversary dessert. Corkage fee is high at $35. If you don't want to pay it, don't bring your own wine. Simple as that. We will be sure to stop by again when we are in Charlotte.
Went as a family and enjoyed the entire experience. The meats are quite varied and it took us a bit to narrow down our favorites. My wife stuck with the salad bar and was overwhelmed with options. Everyone who worked there was gracious and upbeat. We had a lot of fun.
I have been to this restaurant before and it was a few years ago. It was a Friday night and it was pretty much empty. I can see why ,the price for the meal was not listed anywhere just till you got the check. They have really gotten expensive and not worth the $. I could have done better going to Ruth Chris or Morton's. The main waiter checked on the table twice. How do you tip for that....You really did not do anything. We had to ask for water and drinks. The price has really gotten out of hand and is not worth the value. Also many parts of the meat served was burnt and the table finger foods were ice cold. For $250.00 I expected more
Waited more than 10 minutes to get a simple cocktail and even then it arrived incorrect....not once, but twice. Kept skipping past our table with meat service. Had to keep flagging wait staff down to be served and had to keep asking for our preferred meat options. Had salmon and sausage offered many, many times, but couldn't get them to come by with beef options. We've been to this location in the past with good service. Not sure what the issue was this particular evening.
No one eyes fine to the table with the meats. We had to ask the server twice fur then to visit the table. They never asked my daughter's age and charged us for an adult price. Service was terrible. They weren't even busy. Very disappointed. We are regular customers and have been traveling from Columbia for years.
Overall the experience was ok. I wouldnt go back due to the price/ quality of food ratio. The cold bar was nothing to write home about and most of the meats lacked any real flavor or uniqueness besides the house special. The servers never asked us how we liked our meat cooked and almost everything was medium to well even after we requested medium rare. We had a nice time and the staff was very friendly but the price was too much for ok food.
The service here is phenomenal in regard to your waiters. The gauchos cne around a lot at first but slow way down too soon. Salad bar is amazing. Most of the meats are great. But it's way way overpriced for what it is. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine and a coffee $189.. there is no way you can eat that much meat to make it worth it.
We had a great time for my boyfriend's birthday. The staff was great, food was excellent. (The ribs were dry, but everything else we had was delicious!) There was another big party at the restaurant, so it was kind of loud at times, but nothing we felt ruined the dining experience. We did not save room for dessert, but staff brought us a piece of tiramisu and we couldn't resist!
Never disappointing, meats are incredibly juicy, served hot and they slice the cut you prefer (medium rare, etc.) at your table. Only two complaints...we've been going for years but this time, our bill was over $200 for two people. We had three cocktails, possibly the reason but wow...we've usually gotten out for about $150. We will be more careful next time. Also, the cocktails took a long time to arrive each time we ordered. Otherwise, top of the line service, wait on you hand and foot...a taste of what it must be like to dine like royalty for a night!
We were in town for a special event. And this restaurant came recommended to us. WOW!!!!! I'm speechless when it comes to describing our experience! Hospitality was over the top, the food was ahhhhmazing, and our overall experience was nothing short of FABULOUS!!!!
Food and service were very good. Overall a great value compared to most steakhouses. Fun to try to different meats.
Patrons are constantly roaming around the floor on their way to the salad bar, which can be quite annoying. Sit as far away from the salad bar as possible!
In my opinion, this is a very expensive cold salad buffet with a fantastic meat selection brought directly to your table. The filet and lamb are wonderful (The other meats are pretty standard restaurant quality), all of the salad bar items are very fresh and there are a ton of options. The sides they serve to the table are good but probably come from the freezer. The drinks are decently standard as well, little alcohol and lots of mixer with an OKish wine list. All in all, I definitely think it's worth going at least once. But only if you're going to consume copious amounts of meat
Went for the first time for our Anniversary and loved it! Everyone was very nice, food was delicious, tea glass never got empty and we also received a complimentary photo to take home and a slice of cheesecake to celebrate our Anniversary!!
Went here while visiting charlotte, had a wonderful time with my wife. I run restaurants for a living and I must say the service was top notch. We had multiple people wait on us and feed you and they all were fabulous however our main server Alvaro, Rick was on his name tag, was by far one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Attentive and personable.
Thank you Chima team for an amazing night out
We made a reservation and when we got there we had to wait 10 mins for a table. It was 6 of us and the table was small and in addition the dining area was cramped packed. The meat rotation was slow. We were their for 1.5 hours and the waitress checked on us twice after greeting us.
