Chima Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Didnt see the server but every 15-20 minutes. The meat took at least 30 minutes from us going to the salad bar to come out. And since when do they charge for a refill Brazilian limeade. I used to work there 4 years ago and it seems that their service standards have dwindled. There used to be two servers per table but we only saw one and he didn’t even pay attention to us.
4/5 stars because valet was backed up and we went for my fiance's birthday, and they forgot/ didn't do anything. Our server was Caleb and it really felt like he didn't care, BUT Sean and Trey (who weren't even on his team) took amazing care of us, Trey was the best server I've ever had. The food was amazing, great variety, great pacing of the meats going around. Thought I loved steak (and still do!) but their lamb made me reevaluate my entire life. It was the absolute best. And Trey asked us if we had any special meat requests and when they came back out with the lamb the gentleman gave me extra servings. Would highly recommend. Ask for Trey and Sean.
The food is great. The variety of meats they bring to the table is delicious. I didn’t like the salmon. One of the meat selection was very salty. I love the lamb with the mint jelly. It was great. It was my birthday and the staff was awesome they came out with a cheesecake with a candle. I thought was nice. Only thing I hate about this place was as much you spent here you can’t take nothing home. I barely ate my food and a lot was left. For as much you spend you deserve to take it home!
I was disappointed because I was waiting for my table for 40 min. I went to reception and they didn't call my name. When we asked for an order it took a while to arrive. The women's restroom was a mess. While walking around the salad bar I almost slipped on a napkin. Despite the rest the food was very good in taste and variety.
Took my family for New Years Eve. As Brazilian Steakhouses go Chima is good. My opinion is that it is an experience after you’ve been to one Brazilian steakhouse you’ve been to them all. If you want a high end dining experience with amazing food go elsewhere.
Everything was decent. Some of the steak was a little fatty and one of the servers after I asked him a question got impatient and in Spanish said ay dios mio. Little did he know my wife is cuban and I knew what that meant showing his impatience. Didn’t like getting up to serve my own salad for that price they should serve me.
Food and service was great. I had a coupon for $20 off and the I was charged 22% tip and was not by choice. I used a $100 gift card which I received it that day from my job and they only where able to get $50 from that card but when I call the card they told me that Chima took $57.50. So at the end I was charged $27.50 for tip and my total bill was $125. I won’t go back after having my money stolen in front of me.
It was Christmas Day and it seemed they were having a hard time seating people with reservations. THEN, a high school football team comes in - 240 people. About 40 minutes later, we were seated in a corner by the water service area. The meats didn't come around as frequently as I had hoped. I missed my chance on a filet and it only came around that one time. It was expensive but we were with family so it would have been nice regardless of the restaurant.
This was our first Christmas that we have gone to a restaurant for dinner. We were very impressed with the atmosphere, the food and the service. We have now decided to adopt a new Christmas tradition of going to a steakhouse for our family dinner to celebrate.
I recently had Christmas dinner. I expected it to be busy, and knew patience would be needed. And it was, the service was slow, entrees (not meat) served at the table were cold and the salmon was cold, dry and unflavorable (my daughter does not eat meat therefore she did not enjoy the experience)
Chimes Brazilian Steakhouse has the meat! Wonderful grilled lamb chops, leg of lamp, pork, sirloin, filet mignon, chicken -- and also grilled pineapple -- all brought to you however often you desire. The meat was top quality, delicious, and although we liked ours rare (and got it rare), they have it all the way to well-done. The "salad bar" that was 30 feet long really is something much more than a salad bar. Smoked salmon of the highest quality with creme creche and tiny-diced red onion, beef carpaccio with capers, hearts of palm, freshly grilled peppers, all sorts of salads and soups, and rice and beans, too. Delicious food. Great wine list. Attentive and charming waiters. Tables far enough apart so that conversations can be had without shouting. Just a really fun place to eat much too much wonderful food. Special time!
Had Christmas dinner here with my wife. It was a nice experience. The rodizio selection was great. Salad bar had a nice selection of veggies and cheeses. Service was mostly good. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rodizio meats came frequently. Service lagged toward the end of the meal. We had to ask a manager to run out our dessert and the check was a little delayed. However, it was overall a great experience. Expensive but worth the price for a special occasion.
We went Christmas Day for the first time. My mother and husband and I. We have been to lots of high class 5 star eating establishments.. your establishment was fabulous ... We want to come back sooo bad .. But it's pricy. So it may be awhile ... But so enjoyable ......
Unfortunately this was not our best experience at Chima. Service was VERY slow. Had to ask for water numerous times. Plates were piling up. Our table was so close to the table next to us I was bumped every time a server walked past. We brought our entire family and bought wine for the table. Our bill was extremely high and we did not feel that for that price we received a memorable Christmas experience. Sad!
a regular customer for holidays but was very disappointed with our Christmas Eve dinner. Service was downright terrible. Never received side items like mashed potatoes, wine did not arrive until we were well into dinner. Zero attetiveness from wait staff. We did express our dissatisfation to the manager and did get an apology but it's very disappointing to spend that kind of money and get no service.
Chima's was another goid experience. Had reservations st 5pm. Was seated promptly at that time. It did take several minutes for waitress to take our drink orders, but after that, our waitress was on you of everything. Tea glasses were never emoty, she was not intrusive nor hovering and had great sense of humor.
Fried plantains were exquisite, salad bar massive with great selection.
The meats that were serves were well flavored and served right at table at proper temp. Lamb was cooked perfectly with a slight mint flavor. Steaks were massive cuts sliced to just the amount that you ask for. Gauchos were very informative on the cuts types snd flavoring of the meats.
This was defiantly a good dining experience that I look forward to again.
The only draw back was as n unruly child seated at next table. This is NOT a dining experience for unruly children, or to be ruined by young children. My advice to any with small children, get a baby sitter. My advice yo Chima's, do not have s child's menu, charge sane as other diners. Next time, I will request a seat in area with no screamers.
This was by far the absolute BEST service we have had. From the moment we pulled our car up to the valet until the time we left, every employee was extremely attentive and made it their mission that we were taken care of! Pricey date- but well worth it since our service was second to none!
I was overall happy with the food. Unfortunately my server was not the best. I do however understand that they were busy. But I do not understand how much she attended the needs of the other table and continuously asked them if they were ok and needed anything which were a group of men and only asked us one time. We spent our money the exact same and would have loved to be treated fairly. Our server also was very attentive to the table on the other side of us which almost looked to be a group of business people. The manager had to get our steak sauce our water was constantly filled by other servers another server even got our check and gave us our check back not our server. That was my first time there and I am not happy to have spent the money that I spent and not get the proper service when I have experience as a server this was not met as expected. Especially hearing the great reviews and not having a great experience.
Though it was a Saturday night, the valet was extremely slammed. We were asked to circle the block twice. When we arrived @ 8:15pm for our 8:30pm reservation, we informed them that we had one less member of our party than we originally thought. The hostess informed me that we would now have to wait since we had 4, not 5. I asked why this was an issue and she stated that the tables reserved for 5 or 6 are different tables than those reserved for 4. We tried to be accommodating to that, we did change the number of people, but it seemed a bit rude to imply that the restaurant couldn't possibly miss out on the revenue from 1 chair. We didn't understand why we couldn't just have the 5 person table already slated for us.
They also told us they had 'no idea,' when we'd be seated, and that was frustrating. We were there for a graduation celebration. They did seat us by 8:45pm, but our good moods had been a bit dashed by that. It's not a place we will go again.
