Food was great. Live music was a nice touch. Bathrooms were FOUL!!! What a difference in atmosphere between eating area and restrooms- felt like I was in a dive bar. Made me question cleanliness of everything.
Disappointing. Server was super friendly. There was some problem with the kitchen or computer system and food was slow. Not the end of the world but the food was only mediocre. Things were overcooked. Rice Pilaf was completely uninspired. By the end of the meal, it felt like they were rushing customers out to close for the night after we waited so long for food. Would not go back. Beautiful setting but just not worth it when there are other much better places for the money in Stone Harbor/Avalon.
Food is just ok. Service is a real problem that needs to be addressed. The rooftop outdoor ambience is great plus being a BYOB makes it even better and this is the driver for their good rating. I hope they can get their act together.
In the thick of the summertime on weekends there an be a wait for food to come out to the table. While they were apologetic that ours took a while, the same thing has happened the past couple of times I've been there. It gets busy in the summer so I recommend reservations. Food is consistently good.
Food was tasty but service was slow.
We always loved this place before. Kid friendly. But this time the survice was abysmally slow, for us anyway. Very frustrating. My husband got all mad.
Shrimp appetizer was great 👍
Excellent food lovely setting , great service . Highly recommend it.
The food and atmosphere were great. We loved the fact that the entire restaurant is designed for eating outside. The live music was a nice touch. We're definitely looking forward to our next visit.
pulled pork was very good but had a kick to it. wouldn’t recommend for young picky eaters.
I was decent meal. Waitress was a little slow and didn't come by very often. French onion soup was not that good
We come to Stone Harbor every year from Baltimore. We have been to Chill 3 times. The first time was two years ago and we loved it. Last year, I hate to say but we didnt love it, the food was sub-par and the service was worse. We decided to try again this year and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful and the service was perfect. We left Chill feeling full and happy. We are already looking forward to next year.
Reserved a high table for 3 adults . Seated in low table amidst larger family groups all at high tables. We could not talk due to noise level. Server was pleasant apps served timely but our dinner order arrived very late (seemed it was forgotten) and taste was average-fair. $80 for 3 - excluding bottle of local wine. Had a great experience last season. Will likely not return. Great rooftop location but ends there.
We were a group of 8 with a reservation. The restaurant was busy but we were seated pretty soon after arriving. We were greeted by our waitress and placed order in a timely manner. Unfortunately our food took a really long time to come out- I am not certain what the problem was but the hostess came over and apologized for the wait (about an hour) and offered us free desserts. When food finally came out it was in bits and pieces which was a little frustrating. Some people were served food and others still waiting. Finally we all got our food (which by the way was all burgers and chicken sandwiches and salads- nothing fancy or complex). Food was fine. The waitress was pleasant and apologetic for the very long wait but once food was out kind of forget about us. We had to ask for refills of water/drinks more than once. On a positive note, we love the location!
The kids meals were fine, but adult entrees left much to be desired. 2 adult entrees we tried were lobster mac and cheese - which had zero flavor. Sea scallops dish came with polenta that was completely overcooked with no flavor. Was ashame because it was a great location - fun vibe. Nice outdoor seating options with high & low tops. But would not return unless the food quality significantly improved.
One of our favorite places to eat in Stone Harbor. Great food, atmosphere and BYOB.
So fun to sit outside on a rooftop and eat. Great service. Very good food. Had a delicious pulled pork sandwich and good caprese salad. Husband had great crab legs. 5 year old was happy too. Fun ambiance. Recommend!
The setting was ok -- in one direction it was a decent view of buildings, homes, etc. in a beach town which was fine but in the other direction it was the town water tower and power lines. Elevator was available but there is no button to signal the restaurant to open the door -- you either need to call them or climb the stairs to the restaurant and tell them that some needs the elevator. The rooftop setting was nice but the movement of chairs on the surface was EXTREMELY noisy and irritated my guests very badly. The waitstaff should lift the chairs rather than dragging them which is very, very loud. The food was good, but average to be honest. Salmon overcooked, "Light BBQ" on smoked chicken was actually fairly heavy, etc.. Overall was ok-to-minimally good experience.
Awesome spot! I came with a group of 7 people, ages 17-53 and everyone enjoyed it. I would highly recommend for families, couples, groups of friends. Very friendly servers who gave us flexibility in choosing our table. I will definitely go back.
Really enjoyed dinner at chill...great environment, great singer, food was very good!
Lovely outdoor rooftop restaurant with live music and nice view of the setting sun. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
This is a nice setting for a shore restaurant. It is on the roof and the view is nice. On a very windy day it can be challenging as the seating is totally in the open air. Partial roofing is provided and umbrellas but also the sun can be an issue. One can expect that though - it is the shore!
We had a very pleasant evening - there is a bean bag toss in one corner for antsy kids - both big and little. The restaurant is also BYOB or sells Cape May wine by the bottle. If you forgot a bottle or don't want the Cape May wine, you can call Fred's Tavern up the street and they will send a runner with your choice of wine.
There is also entertainment - on the night we were there ( a Friday) it was a steel drum player - very good and not at all intrusive.
Will go back and recommend.
Service very attentive, food good - stuffed shrimp were great. Awesome atmosphere. Perfect place for an outdoor evening with friends.
Service and food was good although nothing was very hot
Our waitress, Season, was super accommodating and our party of 8 tried everything from nachos to crab legs and everyone was pleased. The atmosphere of rooftop dining on a summer night is unbeatable, and it's always cool when you can BYOB. We were provided with a big tub of ice for our beer and wine bottles and had a really fun, relaxing evening. Would def recommend, will def go back!
The food at Chill was mediocre at best. They were out of clam chowder. French fries were awful. Fish & chips were bad. Hamburger was fine. It would be good for kids and large groups.
This has a very cool vibe and I love the idea of live music it’s just a small place and we were seated in front of the person singing so it was kind of loud. He was good though!
Basic menu- but good . The Mexican corn appetizer is good-not sure why they changed serving it on the cob vs cut off the cob...too messy. Wait stDf was very attentive.
Our experience was just ok due to several reasons. Our appetizer came fairly quickly, but our meals took over an hour to arrive to our table for half our party. And then another 5 minutes for the remainder of the meals to arrive. We all got the Dungeness crab legs which included fries and corn on cob. They were out of corn so they just eliminated it without mentioning it or offering a substitution. In addition, the fries were few. We had to ask for a bowl to discard all the shells. On a positive, the live music was very good and provided a nice ambiance.
First visit here. Love the spot. However, this evening the kitchen was struggling. The manager and server were up front about it, the kitchen opportunity, which we appreciated. Food was slow and not very good. Server was super friendly. However, table maintenance was not good. The roof top needed some fans to move the air around. The music was so low, you could hear any music. So just dead air all night. 2+ hours to dine. Not sure I’d go again. Maybe it was just an off night, but food and value was not good. Sorry.
The food was good, the staff was very friendly and the view was great at sunset
3 out of 4 of us had fish that was overcooked. The clam pasta was bland. The service and atmosphere was very nice. only visit the shore once a summer. Might try it again next year.
Mistakes with our order and music was too loud. Food tasted good!
Excellent food and great service. Nice ambiance. Fun outside dining.
Such a fun little place to take th kids but still have a great meal!
Having food allergies, the waitress, chef and manager did everything possible to accomodate our needs. Chill is a great place for family dinners. Very relaxing and food is excellent!
One of our favorites down the shore.
Service was excellent. Hostess was friendly and welcoming. Rooftop tables near street are best imo. Megan was a great server and focused on us enjoying our evening. Clam chowder is great and best on the island. Fried green tomatoes ok. Calamari was excellent but the broccolini was over cooked and bitter. Scallops and stuffed shrimp were good. Cape May Pinot Grigio was too sweet for us. BYOB next time.
Excellent atmosphere. The live music was great! Service was incredible. Love the manager. The food wasn’t great. Cold nachos and fried crab cake. The fish was good, but need some more options on the menu. Would only go back because of the atmosphere.
Great location - awful food. Could have been a great place to get together with friends and family but the menu is without imagination and the execution is even worse. Severely overpriced for what is served. Sadly will not go back.
We went to Chill with a party of 6 on a Saturday evening to celebrate a number of birthdays. When we arrived we were seated at a table close to the live music which made conversation difficult, but we were moved to a table a little further away which was much better. The server was attentive and our appetizers came out quickly. As our dinners arrived, the fire alarm went off in the restaurant and we had to evacuate. We waited outside for about 10-15 minutes before returning to our table. The manager could not have been more attentive - she had the kitchen remake the dinners that had already come out instead of just reheating everything. She also gave us free dessert for our troubles. Overall, the food was very good and the service was excellent - we will definitely be back.
Food was terrible!
