We were at Chill during their opening weekend. We were cheerfully greeted and Kate, our server, was attentive and pleasant. The weather took a dramatic turn, and it was apparent bad storms were quickly moving in. We had enjoyed two delicious appetizers and asked for our dinners to be boxed to go, which was not a problem. Our dinners were also excellent! We look forward to returning on a warmer evening.
Great food. Excellent service. Fun dinner
The menu is different than typical beach fare, the staff is warm and friendly and made great suggestions. I had the cod with Brussels sprouts which was great, too bad they don't have Brussels sprouts as a side.
Because we made reservations through Open Tables they were able to call and let me know I had left my jacket.
Ratty appearance . BYOB - really?! It's a beach grill on a rooftop in stone harbor. Get a liquor license
Chill offers kids meal and casual dinner for adults.
The best in Stone Harbor! We go to Chill at least twice during our annual week-long vacation and are never disappointed. The food is delicious, the staff are wonderful and the view cannot be topped!
This is a second floor, open-air restaurant on 96th Street in Stone Harbor. It was very casual with a pleasant staff. I had the salmon that I initially thought was overdone but boy was I wrong. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, I loved it. My wife had the lobster mac & cheese that she liked very much, too. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy the evening we visited but I suspect you could see some beautiful sunsets on a nicer day. Take note that this restaurant is BYOB and there were two blackboard specials in addition to the menu selections.
This is not the type/quality of restaurant that I have come to expect to see on Open Table.
Chill is a fun, casual spot. The open air location on the 2nd floor rooftop overlooking Stone Harbor is perfect for summertime relaxation and the ambiance is like the name, Chill! The menu of coastal summer foods is nice. Our group had mixed reviews. Everyone loved the burgers. Fish and chicken were not as well prepared.
We had a wonderful dinner! There were 5 adults and a baby in our party. They were very accommodating to our needs and those of the baby. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Our server was very pleasant and solicitous. The view of the sunset was perfect! We will definitely be back!
I'm not easily impressed nor do I usually write reviews, Chill was wonderful. Delicious food, sweet professional waitress. Rooftop view. And reasonably priced for a resort. Our best Meal in Avelon.
Fun, casual outdoor dining!
We really like this restaurant! It was an open air roof top restaurant BYOB. The weather turned stormy, but we had made reservations and were in the covered area!!!!
We enjoyed the food and the service and was glad that the hostess accommodated us and sat us at a table with regular height chairs. The high top chairs don't have backs so they can get a little uncomfortable.
Very cute venue ... open rooftop with comfortable seating... had to wait about 25 minutes for our table ... very pleasant staff... it's BYOB
Been to Chill a number of times and usually impressed with the dinner but tonight's was outstanding. The blackened cod with honey roasted brussel sprouts was fantastic. I understand its a new chef and if it was any indication of what's to come I'm all in. It was a little crowded with a slight wait but the meal made it well worth the wait. Will go back the next time we're in town.
Awesome BYOB place! Great rooftop live music right at base of stone harbor waster tower. Would definitely go again!
We love Chill! Had another great meal this past weekend. Food was delicious and service was great! We love the outdoor dining experience!
Nice atmosphere. Reservations and BYOB a definite thumbs up. Food was great as was the service. Everyone friendly and helpful.
We have eaten there before. Food is always good and the servers are always very nice and they remembered us from last time.
Our group had dinners from burgers to fish and everyone's meal was excellent!! Fresh! Lobster Mac and Crab Cakes were delicious.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Nice ambiance being open.
Entrees came while we still had a least half of our appetizer to finish. Sent the food back and my medium rare Mahi Mahi came back well done. Did not enjoy.
Have been there many times the last 2 years but very disappointed our last visit
Several entrees were very good but the frittata was badly burned. Worst part was that it took almost an hour for the food to reach our table and there were only 3 other tables dining at the time. Waitress was very good and apologetic for the kitchen delays but we did not dare send the frittata back because we did not have another hour to waste.
Chill is a good shore restaurant . Everything is overpriced here in Stone Harbour during the season so for casual eats it isn't cheap but the food is good and it is a pleasant outdoor place. the service is good and it is nice to be able to make a reservation.
Chill is a Stone Harbor Gem! The view from the roof top is one of a kind! The menu is yummy and the service is outstanding. The kids love to dine here, as do my husband and I.
Service was great, food was excellent with generous portions. Love going there when we are at the Shore!
Not your standard fare but exceptionally good. On my list of favorites when in the area. Much better than the well know seafood restaurant in the area.
Generally I have a decent meal and service at Chill but this time our entrees arrived as we were halfway through our appetizers. We told our server we were clearly not ready for them so she took them back to the kitchen. When we were ready for our entrées my husband's wahoo dinner was terribly dry and he really should have sent it back.
More care really needs to be given to proper staff training in timing between courses.
We really like this restaurant. However each time I have issue with the service. this past occasion was equally as bad. It was not very crowded in the restaurant. it was about half full.
It was an exceptionally long time for the food to arrive. both the appetizers and the main course.
each time I visit, I have the same experience. Monday was even worse.
FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT CHILL AND I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. GLAD I WAS ABLE TO GET THERE EARLY IN THE SEASON.
There were two large parties in the center of the resturant. They were extremely loud and the sound took over the entire place.I would suggest larger parties not smack dab in the middle of everything.
Beside the noise level Food was good- a bit cold when presented but to be expected at an outside dining establishment. I would return & recommend.
Surprisingly good food. Adult entree prices are comparable to other stone harbor restaurants but $10 for a kids pasta is a bit high. We had a great time but the kitchen was notably slow. Which is fine as it's byob and the open air is great. I would recommend the owners take their name to heart and posistion the restaurant as a laid back slow place to get a meal and enjoy your own beverages on a rooftop. As an observer the hostess looked frazzled and that she was working to get back on track with little results.
The food, lobster Mac and cheese was good but no surprise lobster from anywhere else other than the tiny legs. Burger while good was not at parity with other burgers among the new gourmet burger war of 96th street. Fried green tomatoes were excellent. Fries were very good and perfectly crisp not greasy. (But early season oil is always better)
Lastly I found it humorous that for the past year we thought the restaurant had a handful of fun games for kids to enjoy while parents ate as corn hole is visible from below. This is the only game. It worked out but if the 4-6 kids who enjoyed playing together had been boxed out by one set of adults looking to play a real game the mood and usefulness of the restaurant would have been impacted. People expect it, maybe add a few more games and work on turning around tables faster. Also suggest making your presence on open table known. The service level was top notch. Every comment was read. But with every open slot available it's not the best advertisement. And since no one can see how full your tables are from the street it might result in people trying something else. Plus tell people you have an elevator. Those stairs might immediately remove from consideration.
Good food and a nice location to byob in downtown stone harbor. Advice to fellow diners would be to ensure the weather / bugs are perfect. There is no where to hide, and no true foul weather seating options.
It's a nice place. Food was ok. Also open table menu did not match their menu. I only went there for the lobster roll and they discontinued it. It is a really cool rooftop setting.
We love Chill! Great food, excellent service and the outdoor summer
We had never been to Stone Harbor, so we didn't know where to eat. My daughter, who has food allergies started looking up restaurants. She found Chill and I called to make sure it would be safe. Lynn, was great-calling me back twice to double check things. When we got there, Lynn, sat us at a table where the waitress has food allergies, so she would understand our needs. My daughter can never eat a whole meal, but she was able to get a burger with caramelized onions, bacon and a side of sweet potatoes. It was delicious and she was thrilled. I had a burger with avocado. I loved it. Hubby had the scallops. We had the loaded fries as an app. They were so good, but so filling and my burger came with fries. Oh well. It was a great family dinner. Thank you Chill!!
pleasant outdoor dining, great place to relax with a favorite byob ...chicken spammy was yum
love gardening so I appreciated their hanging baskets, wandering vines🌺🌼🌱
Really enjoyed the experience. Food very good. Service excellent!
Don't come for the food. So, I returned for dinner to see if last time was just a bad day for Chill but honestly, the food is basically low quality cooked/fried frozen food. The wedge salad (which I thought surely can't be bad) was almost nothing but lettuce w/sprinkle of bacon bits and few cherry tomatoe halves & almost no blue cheese crumbles. The shrimp app was like a fast food offering. Not sure what happened, thought it was better but it has been since summer 2014 since I ate there. And after 2nd time this season being a complete disappointment, I'll never return.
Excellent food! And I love the outdoor dining experience! And Fred's delivers in case you forget to BYOB!
