About Chili U
The special chorizo eggrolls are just one of many unique items on the menu at Chili U. The food menu alone is reason is enough to pay homage to this restaurant, but the drink list is quite spectacular as well. Come here early to enjoy drinks after work with friends or colleagues, and stay to have a hearty meal cooked to order.
If you want something different, just order the poutine. This Chili U original contains waffle fries, gravy and melted white cheddar cheese curds. Beyond that, Chili U does great seafood platters, including the ever-popular fried shrimp and peppercorn tuna.

Chili U Ratings and Reviews
First time here and we loved everything about this bar/restaurant! I loved the bar! Everything was clean and beautiful. We came to meet friends for the Cubs game and for dinner. We all had Chili and it was AMAZING- SO delicious! Loved the concept. WE will definitely be back! If you're looking for something new this is the spot!
Enjoyed our experience. Loved the décor, albeit a tad noisy. Fish tacos were great, my wife's hamburger was overdone though. Our waitress was very accommodating and provided great effort even though it was her first night on the job. Seemed a little young to be serving drinks though. Definitely will go back .
The name of the establishment can throw many diners off because it would seem to have a targeted appeal to chili lovers. On the contrary, the menu offers expansive choices in the comfort/bar food category. Atmosphere is pleasant, and food was executed well. We would definitely return.
Although very busy when we arrived, we were greeted & waited on promptly. The server gave good food recommendations. So far we have not tried anything that wasn't good. The drink menu is superb with unique wines & good beer. The restaurant is good for both lunch with family to dinner or drinks out on the town!
The Chorizo egg rolls are excellent. Lots of flavor and interesting combination. The Lamb tacos were kind of bland. Not much flavor from the lamb, but the accouterments with it were good. The African Chili wasn't as good as remembered in the past. Kind of bland and not as spicy as I remember. Overall good, but not great this trip.
We met up with old friends there that we have not seen for years. The server was patient with us, allowing us to catch up. Service was outstanding and polite. Food here is really good. It is not your mom's chili. They have many different options plus the option to customize your own chili.
I've been here several times and each time I've had a delicious meal with great drinks. I highly recommend the organic vodka American Harvest on the rocks or with any other drink. It's so smooth and doesn't ever give a hint of a hangover the next day. I recommend the shrimp appetizer, it's delicous!
I had a really good time at this establishment. The first thing I was struck by was the decor of the place. It is well designed and a lot bigger than you initially think. There is a bar w/ dinning area and an entirely separate dinning area that is very comfy and w/ a subtle view of the kitchen. The food was good and I believe our server was very attentive. I had the African chicken which wasn't what I thought it would be but it was tasty none the less. I would have enjoyed more bold flavoring but given the neighborhood, I understand. The bread pudding dessert is definitely a plus! I really loved the peanut butter sauce that was drizzled over it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a bar to watch the game and have good food or an above average casual dinning restaurant!
Despite the name, this place has a lot of non-chili items, and several very flavorfull vegetarian choices. We love the idea of "build your own" chili dinner (you choose the extra ingredients for the base and toppings to be added to 4 choices of chili) and the unique chili recipes in the "we make" part of the menu, especially the Thai Shrimp Chili. The mix and match sliders are great too, my favorites, pulled pork with mango salsa and the chili joe slider topped with Fritos chips.
