I don't know what they did this time, but they totally improved since few years ago. improvement on service and staff friendliness. I went here about 2-3 yrs ago and had a really bad experience. My friend and I were hungry and came in for dinner. we waited almost 45 min, then when we got seated, we ordered a lot of food. our food came then suddenly we wondered about the steam rice. they told us last minute that they "ran out of rice" after we had all ordered these salty spicy foods. that was a big mistake for the restaurant. also, this time around I think the waiters are nicer and more attentive.

La comida es excelente, pero las crepas del pato pekinés no estaban calientes. El servicio fue muy bueno.

We were there for the pekin duck and they told us that without “reservation” in advance for the duck, there was no chance to have it.
There was not any warning at the time of booking the table.

There are hundreds of Chinese restaurants in SF , but very few that are really good. . This one has excellent, innovative cuisine. One very rare item is that on two recent visits, the servers were extremely friendly and EVEN helpful. That is rare.
We especially liked the siu mai pork and shrimp dumplings, the spicy Princess Wings, the Peiking Duck and the spicy pork dumplings and the vegetable delight. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful.

food is ok。we came for peking duck that is the only purpose worth the trip. the sichuan dishes are ok but not really distinctive. we made the reservation in advance but still waited more than 30
min after the time lot to get to the table. they actually stated they can not effectively manage the workflow. also it took them more than an hour since we were seated to bring the duck out(it's pre-ordered). another evidence for lack of good management. it was like we had a second meal. Luckily the great taste duck made the day.

We went there last Friday with friends.
Food was delicious. We ordered spicy wontons, beef, duck and crabs. Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty. The waiters were super nice and professional. Best authentic Chinese restaurant in SF, no doubt !

Delicious authentic Szechuan cuisine. Only draw back is that we made reservations and still had to wait 30 min upon arrival. It’s that popular.

Busy, noisy place but with rapid seating, if you make a reservation. The food was good, specially the wonderful hot and sour soup. The other two dishes we ordered, garlic shrimp and beef in chili sauce were pretty good not great. We want to go back as the menu has lots of other items that sound appealing.

It was a good, family gathering spot for us. We made our reservation through Opentable then called to reserve an order of their famous Peking Duck. We were seated almost immediately even though there was a line. A staff came by to confirm our Peking Duck order & it was served, quickly. Food was good, service was prompt & friendly. An enjoyable meal. Will definitely return.

We came because we heard that Chili House had the best Peking Duck in SFO. I hadn’t had it since I lived in Beijing 10 years ago. We reserved a duck a few days ahead and while it was good, it wasn’t over the top amazing. However, it was one of the few places that I found, that served it the traditional style with wrappers instead of buns. They offered salt and pepper fried or soup for the remaining duck parts...we really didn’t want either. We also had some dumplings that were really yummy, delicious smashed cucumber salad, and we REALLY enjoyed the 8 treasures tea service! Good experience overall.

The food was pretty bad. The hot and sour soup tasted burnt. The peking duck was beautifully presented but tasteless. The shrimp had an usual taste...not sure . The only positive was the elaborate ceremony of pouring the tea. That was entertaining.

Fantastic food, great vibe. We had their Peking Duck (reserve in advance - they only make 20 per day!) and the best eggplant with garlic sauce we've ever experienced. Traditional accompaniments, carved table-side. The server offered soup or salt & pepper from the remaining duck bones. We couldn't believe the amount of rich, delicious soup they brought to the table. Wish we had time to go back.

Made reservation for party of 5. When we got there at reservation time, the restaurant had plenty of larger table but waitress wanted to give us a table of 4 with a seat on the side since one of the party was in a wheelchair. Told her we are uncomfortable with a small table, which she ignored. We decided to leave instead of arguing. So never was seated and didn't try the restaurant.

we had Peking Duck. Very disappointing. Duck was room temperature and the hoisin sauce was very unpleasant. A big disappointment, especially at $40+, as was a chili oil bowl with tofu. Unpleasant taste.

The only good dish was a vegetable dish sauteed with garlic.

I will not be back

Love love LOVE! Everything from service to flavor. Nothing is actually “spicy” so no fret you non-pepper tolerant folks, you can eat here too. Their chili oil is like no other! Service is always pleasant, however I have been coming here for over 8years. Never disappoint. My favorites are;
Explosive chicken, basil eggplant (we order it fried), hot n’ sour soup, beef pancake, scallion pancake, and those cold peanut noodles (I don’t eat it, I’m allergic, but my friend orders it ALL the time). We get water, bottle of wine, AND tea. I’m a bit of a wine snob and their Riesling is great; not sweet like typical Riesling wines. Love this spot. Give it a go! Xièxiè
