The waitress was rude in taking our order, as our party of 16 wanted to order drinks and decide on what to order for the main courses. The waitress was impatient and rushed us to order. The 2 Peking Ducks which we ordered in advance was good and the 2 Crabs was also good. The rest of the food was not and we've had much better for less $$$. This was our first time at Chili House and will be our last.
Good is amazing. The show on Saturday night will blow your ear drums out. No joke.
Such a fun experience! A dinner show on Saturday! 😀
Food was awesome
Such a great restaurant to have an amazing date night!
Great place with delicious food. Service is swift and wait staff handles the high volume of orders well.
Family meal Chinese New Year
Great food! I called a few days earlier and ordered a duck. I didn’t call back to confirm but they did have it for us ready to go. Very pl
Even with reservations, we waited an ADDITIONAL 50 minutes until we were seated.
Great food. Will be going there again soon
The duck was delicious
Great service, really nice with our kids
You can only get their most popular dish (Peking Duck) by pre ordering it 24 hours before the reservation. Open Table should notify it’s users about this important detail.
Delicious and all the food is top quality.
Top of my list
I was unaware we needed to request the Peaking duck when making the reservation. Location did not have a hostess station which made things confusing given the small space. Food was ok not that best I've had but not bad. Would not recommend or go back.
I have been to Chili House about 4 times within the last 16 months and was never disappointed. I had requested a duck for our out of town guests only to be told when we were sitting down that they did not have one for us. Although the food was good the missed duck made the experience disappointing
Simply one of the best Chinese restaurants anywhere, with a wide variety of dishes, all wonderful.
Restaurant did not honor the reservation.
Best noodles and duck!
Even though we ordered a Peking Duck for a certain time at our reservation, we had to wait for half an hour before the duck was served. The service was slow and not particularly attentive. Some presentations of the dishes were incorrect, perhaps due to language issues. The waitress tried to pressured us to order more food, much more than we could finish.
The Peking Duck was good but not outstanding.
Will recommend this restaurant with some reservation.
Great authentic food
Even though I had a reservation and arrive a few minutes before the time, it still took them 25min for getting a seat.
The front door was absolutely in chaos, the girl who wrote down everyone’s name also need to serve tea and chopsticks. Can’t you (Chili House) just hire one more person to do this? Since your food is not cheap and food quality is decent.
Food is very good particularly if one favors spicy dishes. Hot and sour soup is more flavorful and has more ingredients than other Chinese restaurants. Cumin lamb is tender and comes with abundance of onions but beware of the very hot peppers. Princess chicken fried wings are savory and meaty and covered with a tasty sweetened sauce. We have eaten here several times and enjoyed each meal and will try other dishes each visit.
The service was really slow and terrible. The dim sum were not very good. The beef was ok.
Food and service are excellent. The carpet in the restaurant is very dirty and gives the impression that restaurant is not as clean as one would hope for.
The Peking Duck was fantastic!...and then they asked if we wanted soup made from the bones, or fried. We opted for fried. When it arrived we were too full to eat anymore. Took them home and reheat them the next day. Amazingly yummy!!
This place is a total mess. The waiting area is small and people crowded. We have a reservation for 7:30 and we kindly asked for seat when we arrive. They check us in and send us to wait outside for 15 minutes. I questioned why to have reservation if we still need to wait. The waitress reply me in a wireld manner” open up your eyes, we have a small space and it’s the truth that there is no seat for you even with reservation.”
Apart from the drama of checking in, the food is good . But just good for too much salty and spicy. In general I would not recommend if you coming for Szechuan food. Not order the Peking duck but I guess it will be better than the spicy dishes.
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been outside of China. Authentic, with a variety of different dishes from accross the country.
Always great. Very helpful and attentive staff and it’s such a fun and family friendly environment. You can tell that Chili House has a special place in almost everyone’s family who’s dining there. I try to try different things when we go and they’re always great.
Good ambiance
Amazing food and a show, we were in for a great surprise. The menu is not a typical restaurant, there are a lot of items that we have never tried before. Everything tasted great. I highly recommend ordering Peking Duck but do that in advance, when you make a reservation, as it takes an hour to prepare. Its amazing.
This is your typical looking San Francisco Chinese restaurant - small and not a lot of ambience. But that's not why you to Chili House. It's all about the food. This is not your typical Americanized Chinese food. It's the real deal. Everything on the menu is very authentic - bursting with spicy flavors and goodness. The chicken with exploding peppers is a favorite if you love heat. Highly recommended.
Great dining experience
We went for brunch and tried many of the dim sum options. Both of us loved the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). The Chili dumplings were delicious too. The sauce of la jiao jiang + ginger and broth is rich and nuanced without being overpowering or too spicy. The service was also excellent, especially for dim sum. The only thing that was disappointing was that the website shows beautiful photos of many kinds of dim sum - rabbit shaped dumplings, chick dumplings, etc. These must be ordered in advance and cannot be ordered off the menu.
Spicy fish, crab, and pea shoots were amazing. Cumin lamb was very good. Scallion pancakes were OK. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving Sichuan food.
Peking duck is great, good selection of teas as well
