At Chili House Chinese Restaurant, we prepare delicious Chinese cuisine that is full of flavor. We consider ourselves to be the best Chinese food restaurant around and with one bite from our amazing menu, we are confident you will feel the same. We invite you to come in and become a new loyal customer.
This place is a total mess. The waiting area is small and people crowded. We have a reservation for 7:30 and we kindly asked for seat when we arrive. They check us in and send us to wait outside for 15 minutes. I questioned why to have reservation if we still need to wait. The waitress reply me in a wireld manner” open up your eyes, we have a small space and it’s the truth that there is no seat for you even with reservation.”
Apart from the drama of checking in, the food is good . But just good for too much salty and spicy. In general I would not recommend if you coming for Szechuan food. Not order the Peking duck but I guess it will be better than the spicy dishes.
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been outside of China. Authentic, with a variety of different dishes from accross the country.
Always great. Very helpful and attentive staff and it’s such a fun and family friendly environment. You can tell that Chili House has a special place in almost everyone’s family who’s dining there. I try to try different things when we go and they’re always great.
Amazing food and a show, we were in for a great surprise. The menu is not a typical restaurant, there are a lot of items that we have never tried before. Everything tasted great. I highly recommend ordering Peking Duck but do that in advance, when you make a reservation, as it takes an hour to prepare. Its amazing.
This is your typical looking San Francisco Chinese restaurant - small and not a lot of ambience. But that's not why you to Chili House. It's all about the food. This is not your typical Americanized Chinese food. It's the real deal. Everything on the menu is very authentic - bursting with spicy flavors and goodness. The chicken with exploding peppers is a favorite if you love heat. Highly recommended.
Great dining experience
We went for brunch and tried many of the dim sum options. Both of us loved the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). The Chili dumplings were delicious too. The sauce of la jiao jiang + ginger and broth is rich and nuanced without being overpowering or too spicy. The service was also excellent, especially for dim sum. The only thing that was disappointing was that the website shows beautiful photos of many kinds of dim sum - rabbit shaped dumplings, chick dumplings, etc. These must be ordered in advance and cannot be ordered off the menu.
Spicy fish, crab, and pea shoots were amazing. Cumin lamb was very good. Scallion pancakes were OK. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving Sichuan food.
Peking duck is great, good selection of teas as well
We love the chili house
The service is efficient and friendly
The food is consistently excellent
Location is convenient and parking usually available
A bit noisy
I love this place I wish I knew about this place before I’m tell all of my friends abut this place👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
That bomb duckety
we had table after one hours our reservation. the duck isnot good as you think. also becareful the bill That not pay double tips. they charged 18% And say nothing to you. ...
The Peking Duck is such a treat - delicious, perfectly tender-roasted and expertly served. A very nice "Date Dinner"! The rest of the menu was pretty average for Outer Richmond Chinese, where the local Chinese restaurants are all better than elsewhere. The spicier dishes really shine, though - definitely would recommend to others
We were a party of 7 for dinner. Young and Old. Got a round table and each dish was delicious! Dumplings of flounder and chives so great. Chicken, eggplant, mushroom, tofu dishes ALL wonderful. Can't wait to return.
This was my first time dining at Chili House and it lived up to the hype. The Peking Duck was the best I've ever had. Xiao long bao were very good as well. I will be back!
Always good food!
Great service. Authentic Szechuan food. Try the unexpected. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We enjoyed our spicy dumplings, fresh steamed pea shoots, and the killer tan tan noodles.
The service was warm and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the Kung Fu style Tea ceremony with a very entertaining display of tea acrobatics while serving tea!
Don't miss the spicy crab or the spicy garlic prawns! And of course the peking duck- crispy and delicious, which is sliced and prepared in front of you!
If you love spicy good food, this is the place for you.
Chili House is always great. Friendly, delicious and helpful with ordering. Never a bad meal!
We were disappointed that the restaurant was completely out of one of the most popular items in the menu: THE CRAB! My husband & I are pescatarian so that left us basically with the option of shrimp.
The customer service wasn’t great: slow service, menu items unavailable & all the dishes came out separately with extended wait times which interfered with our dining experience.
I ordered the Peking duck since only 20 are available each day. Within five minutes of my party’s arrival, the chef brought out the duck and started carving, at which time I have not even been served tea or water. The food was good but the service (with the exception of one server) was chaotic at best.
One server was argumentative when my mom did not wish to sit next to the door while other servers walk about but do not pick up empty dishes when delivering food to the table. There needs to be some proper training of the wait staff. I felt so rushed to finish my meal and run.
It was perfect for our large group. We brought some special bottles of wine and enjoyed it with their fantastic food. Great night was had by all!
Overall experience was good. The Peking duck was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere. We will definitely go again.
Loved the duck!
I don't know what they did this time, but they totally improved since few years ago. improvement on service and staff friendliness. I went here about 2-3 yrs ago and had a really bad experience. My friend and I were hungry and came in for dinner. we waited almost 45 min, then when we got seated, we ordered a lot of food. our food came then suddenly we wondered about the steam rice. they told us last minute that they "ran out of rice" after we had all ordered these salty spicy foods. that was a big mistake for the restaurant. also, this time around I think the waiters are nicer and more attentive.
La comida es excelente, pero las crepas del pato pekinés no estaban calientes. El servicio fue muy bueno.
We were there for the pekin duck and they told us that without “reservation” in advance for the duck, there was no chance to have it.
There was not any warning at the time of booking the table.
Excellent Peking Duck and Beijing potstickers. Entertaining tea service
if you like spicy food then this is your place. Non-spicy items include excellent Peking duck among others.
There are hundreds of Chinese restaurants in SF , but very few that are really good. . This one has excellent, innovative cuisine. One very rare item is that on two recent visits, the servers were extremely friendly and EVEN helpful. That is rare.
We especially liked the siu mai pork and shrimp dumplings, the spicy Princess Wings, the Peiking Duck and the spicy pork dumplings and the vegetable delight. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful.
food is ok。we came for peking duck that is the only purpose worth the trip. the sichuan dishes are ok but not really distinctive. we made the reservation in advance but still waited more than 30
min after the time lot to get to the table. they actually stated they can not effectively manage the workflow. also it took them more than an hour since we were seated to bring the duck out(it's pre-ordered). another evidence for lack of good management. it was like we had a second meal. Luckily the great taste duck made the day.
Food is fantastic- Roast duck amazing; dumplings and pot stickers amazing. Everything really well done. Warm and friendly service. Highly recommend!
We went there last Friday with friends.
Food was delicious. We ordered spicy wontons, beef, duck and crabs. Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty. The waiters were super nice and professional. Best authentic Chinese restaurant in SF, no doubt !
Fantastic food, great presentation. It does get busy so I recommend going early and making a reservation for groups bigger than 5
Delicious authentic Szechuan cuisine. Only draw back is that we made reservations and still had to wait 30 min upon arrival. It’s that popular.
Food was great. But the environment is not as good as the pictures showed
