Chickie's & Pete's - Audubon PA
Restaurant seemed run down and dirty. Our chairs rocked they were so loose and the tables were worn. Food all over the floor. Food was ok. Which meals came with the fries for what you pay its not worth going back.
The food was pretty good, but not being from the area and hearing of the restaurant only from co-workers, I did not realize it wasn't very family friendly. No kids menus or anything and while the staff tried to accommodate, it would not be a place I would recommend taking your family.
Sierra (so?) was our waiter And she was awesome. Entire experience was very pleasant.
I was told that Chickie and Pete's was one of the local semi-franchise places that you need to check out when going to the Philly area. It was average in my opinion, but over priced. The cheese steak wasn't what you will get in downtown area and was just the basic restaurant version. They don't have a kids menu, either, and both my boys (8 + 4) just wanted cheese sandwiches, which the waitress offered, but ended up being cooked on an inverted hamburger bun (which the kids pushed back on eating.) The crab fries were good but really are just over-seasoned with Old Bay, however, I like the syrup dip served with the sweet potato fries. The one thing that I really didn't like- I ordered a hot shrimp appetizer that sounded really good- a dozen shrimp served with a hot seasoning in crab juice- and they were served still in the shell and not de-veined. I had to manually clean every shrimp to eat it, which, in the process, I was ripping off all of the seasoning from each shrimp. That was disappointing. Cool sports atmosphere but quite loud. In the end- not a great place for kids, but probably a good place to drink beer, eat appetizers, and watch an Eagles game with your buddies.
Muscles in Red were covered in parmesan cheese.Very strong taste. Not great service either.
Very nice dinner, pretty quiet when we first sat down which was nice. The food was warm not hot for two of the entrees but the manager warmed one up (the other was just eaten warm). The crab fries were great as usual 🙂
Mussels in red sauce was good as always as was the hot shrimp
New Years Eve
Service was excellent! However, the Petza cheesesteak was awful, too much sauce an full ringlets of peppers. Terrible sandwich! The ice cream sandwich desert was completely frozen, very difficult to dig your spoon into. Had it not been frozen solid it would have been a delicious desert.
Had Saturday evening reservations with my wife and kids. It was my wife’s birthday. Ordered fries to start, then clams for the table, and then the entree course for everyone. Drinks came out quickly, as did the fries, but as soon as we literally began eating the fries appetizer, the food runners brought EVERYTHING out all at once. There wasn’t even enough room to put everything on the table. I didn’t go out to eat to be rushed. When entrees are dropped with apps, you never even get a chance finish anything because you feel rushed. My daughters mussels were good, but not my wife’s and sons burgers, which were ordered med rare, came out as raw as tartar. I mistakenly ordered the lobster cheesesteak, which was a cheesesteak with a few pieces of over cooked (lobster?) on top covered with their cheese sauce. It was so salty, I took maybe 2 or 3 bites and left it on the table. If you want to go out and are in a hurry, by all means, stop here, but it was not a great birthday dinner out for us
Great place to watch the Eagles game and grab some good bar food.
If you want seafood. This is the place.
Good food, priced right... nice menu variety
First time ever there. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Kids were happy too. Will definitely return.
The crab fries were good as usual.
Excellent service and food. I grew up in Maryland so felt at home here with the crab fries and seafood.
My family and I have been to many a Chickies. Something must have been wrong with the speakers that day. The music was either too loud or too low and would change every 2 minutes. I have been to Chickies during a game and the music stops when the game announcers are on but that was not the case. The first batch of fries brought to us was half the usual portion size.
Great food and atmosphere on a college football Saturday. Gotta get the crab fries!
Great sports bar!
Eagles 1st game!
Love the crab & sweet potato fries combo & the lobster roll
I said to my server Danielle that I would do the buy one get one free fried seafood. She said fine. I and she did not realize it was not Monday. So when my bill came I was surprised to see the Mac and cheese bits still on the menu. She took the bill back returned and said its taco Tuesday. Ok on me. Paid the bill and tipped. The major problem was that she smelled of ciggeratte smoke. I will return I will not let Danielle wait on me.
Crab fries were very good but the rest of the food was subpar. There was a stale/musty smell to the restraunt. Maybe the carpet should be removed?
My family and I eat here a lot and usually leave full and satisfied. This last trip was no different except for our server who seemed to forget us. After taking our drink orders it was another 20 minutes before we saw her again, but luckily our meal was very enjoyable (crabbie fries and dungeons crabs) and we plan to be back in the near future!
Food was average as was the service. The chicken on all 3 salads ordered was dry and rubbery. Burger was average, nothing special.
Service was good, food was fair. I had a chicken sandwich and the sandwich was dry. Chicken was well done. We had to send back the toco salad and was replaced with another one which was much better.
Slow service. Snow crabs were over cooked. Had to wait a long time for water and napkins. My husband didn't get the hot sauce he asked for. The worst part was the extremely loud night club dance music. Totally inappropriate for dinner ambiance. Also advertised as a sports bar and we couldn't hear the footfall hall of fame inductions. We were bummed.
Went there for a nice late lunch in the bar area. I like this restaurant, however, don't understand why I can't get a Pinot noir that is house brand and therefore house priced. They only offer $9.50 glass of Pinot noir...seems very high for a sports bar when other wines are $5.75-6.50. Wish they would rethink their pricing. Also no happy hour deals on wine😩...seems unfair to us wine drinkers.
This place just has the best food :) Those fries, oh my! Loved the service, the seating location, and the food.
I am always very satisfied with this location of Chickies & Pete's, because the staff is just so welcoming. We've come back here several time just for that reason. And the food is always amazing. O had a chicken cheese steak, and it was sooo delicious with all that gooey liquid american cheese. wow! and the crabbie fries seasoning? It's so addictive, also with the dipping bowls of yummy liquid american cheese. Man; just thinking about it makes me want to go back! holy moly! yummmmm
Crab legs were awesome. Just needed more napkins available without asking all the time.
As always, an excellent family dining experience. It functions as both the perfect sports bar, and restaurant, American style. Yes, we Americans have a style, all our own, and Chickie & Pete's embodies it. And don't forget the Crab Fries!
Mentioned allergies, food did not accommodate
Went with a group of friends for my husbands birthday. The food was great and the staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly, fun, patient and knowledgeable.
Very good as usual...we usually visit chickies and petes once a month
I absolutely loved this restaurant. The waitress was so sweet and so great I enjoyed everything. Wonderful time and highly recommend.
Everything was great! Table was ready when we arrived and service was fast. No complaints. We’ll definitely be back.
Food portions were small for the crab legs and they brought them in one huge bowl to share. When you're paying for something by the pound, you want to make sure you've been given that pound and not have to compete with others in a "trough". Also need more options for sides to go with meals like this (i.e. corn, broccoli, potato, something)
We love chickie n Pete’s! Love love the fries. 👍🏻😊 favorite spot.
Dry rub wings were good. Buffalo chicken cutlet was soggy. Would mention it to our server if we ever saw her. When we finally did we were over it, we did order crab fries which never came!! We waited 15 minutes asked our server about them she said oops let me go get them. She came back out a few minutes later with another tables drinks and no fries! 20 minutes now we hunted her down and asked for the bill and to cancel the fries, she seemed shocked!! The kicker was when we got our bill another server came over saying “don’t worry about the fries I took care of them for you”! Seriously?!! When I told him he did nothing because we never received them, he literally went OH and walked away! Worst service experience for a Chickies!
Found out the booths around the bar Are wider than the ones around the windows. And the manager Rocco was super nice.
