Disappointing night out. Our server seemed friendly and was even accommodating when I sent back a drink (I didn't ask for it to be removed from the bill, though they did so, and I ordered something different). However, on our way out, we overheard her telling a coworker everything we'd ordered (including what she saw as an off-putting drink and dessert combo) and complaining about us. The food was good (nothing was outstanding), but we definitely won't be back thanks to the weird ending.
Absolutely love Chicken and the Egg. Their brunch is a fantastic value and great way to start a Sunday morning.
Love this place! The food and the service is always excellent!
The food was not good. My guest had to send her dinner back as it was inedible. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for dinner.
Love this place
Great food and service. Very quiet on a Friday night
food wasn't seasoned well. but the mimosas were amazing !
We took our daughter for a birthday celebration brunch. Our server, Heather, was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our questions. She provided excellent service and remembered to bring a little birthday treat at the end of the meal! We will definitely be regular diners at this restaurant!!
Both of us enjoyed our brunch dishes. I loved the Fried Green Tomato Benedict.
Outstanding fried chicken. Don’t miss the pimento cheese fritters. Ask for Cal as your waiter.
This was the first visit and the food was outstanding, the omelet was the best and my friend got Eggs Benedict was was also great. I loved the bacon but not the sausage. The service was excellent all the staff was extemely friendly
Short ribs good but egg roll not to my liking. They did take it off our bill which was nice. Would have liked ice in our water. Rolls were yummy! Iceberg wedge salad ho hum. Server was nice. Restaurant was very clean. The girl that showed us to our table had on a not so clean shirt! I noticed it right off the bat. You might consider black attire!!
The food was wonderful (we ate Sunday brunch). We had great service and there were options for everyone. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the chairs we sat in were extremely uncomfortable. We had five adults of all different shapes and sizes and we were all complaining about how the chairs felt. Other than the physical discomfort, it was an excellent experience. We will definitely be back—but request a different table. :)
Even though I rated the experience high, we still had to wait up to a half an hour to be seated and we had reservations. Don’t understand why?
I thought it was fine. The fried chicken was good. I had a very simple dish. Fried chicken with eggs and hashbrowns. Oh plus biscuits. Everything was fine except the hsshbrowns. No salt was present in the hashbrowns in the one bite I had. The biscuits tasted a bit processed or too much grease? I am spoiled by homemade biscuits I eat on a regular basis made by family so my standards are higher. The service definitely could use improvement. One person at the table complained that the waffles were lukewarm at first bite. All my food was hot so not sure what happened. I would go back and get the fried chicken and eggs and try and hold the biscuits and hashbrowns.
Outstanding service and great ambiance. The food, while not bad, was just average. If ordering brunch, be sure to describe how you want your eggs cooked. My scrambled eggs were too hard.
I love everything about Chicken and The Egg. One of the main things that I love is that it's an awesome local restaurant, where we can make reservations, instead of having to always wait for a table. I've been here multiple times and Saturday's visit was the first time, I had something that wasn't good. Our grits were kind of dry and just not that good, and my daughter's waffle was cooked a bit too long, but other than that, everything was excellent! I keep saying that I'm going to get something different, but I get the French toast every time I come, no matter what time I come! It's so good! All the food is seasoned well and even the sweet tea is really good, fresh and sweet! We will continue coming back to Chicken and the Egg! They need to put one in Kennesaw! :-)
The food was okay overall. They put cheese in my eggs after I asked them not to. My biscuit was hard and dry, so I requested toast. It arrived after I finished eating. The grapefruit mimosas were good. My daughter had chicken and waffles and loved it. It was my first visit. I'll give them another shot. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to visit for weekend brunch
Made reservations for 1:15pm. Checked in at 12:55pm. Waited awhile and didn't get seated. Had to go remind the hostess that we were all here, she totally ignored me. 2nd try, the 2nd hostess sat us right away after waiting 20 mins. Everyone else that came behind us got seated before us. They didn't seem to pay attention that we were standing & waiting for awhile. Our cocktail drinks came after our brunch was brought out. Was disappointed in the customer service overall.
Heather was very attentive and provided great service.
Our meals were tasty and presented attractively. Our server was friendly and attentive. Always enjoy the craft cocktails, too.
We made a 9:30 reservation (and noticed that there was also a 9:45 reservation available). We arrived on time and were being taken to our table when a gentleman who we believe was the manager approached us as we were walking and said, “You DO know we close at 10, right?” Our whole party was shocked and immediately made to feel very unwelcome. It really ruined the mood for our friends. Why have reservations available after 9 if you are going to tell customers that their presence is inconvenient? We sat down and had a delightful waitress who took our orders quickly. The drinks took a surprisingly long time to come out given that the restaurant was not busy and they had been very clear they wanted us gone quickly. The food was good, however I will not be returning based on the behavior of the manager and his attitude towards guests who used Open Table to book a reservation and were then treated like we were bothering them. If you don’t want customers coming in late, don’t allow reservations to be booked up to 9:45 at night.
Went on Friday for the first time. Great cocktails delicious food and very nice ambiance. Go you’ll be happy you did
The food and service at Chicken and Egg are always outstanding. The food is freshly cooked. We especially enjoy the chicken, salmon and short ribs for the main entree. The collard greens are delicious, and the pimiento cheese is an excellent choice for an appetizer.
The servers are cordial and prompt with their service. They seem committed to meet the needs of the customer.
We are regular patrons and have never been disappointed.
I've only been here for brunch and they've never disappointed. Their mimosas are a great ratio of orange juice to champagne/sparkling white wine. Their food is amazing, from their burger, chicken and waffles, grits, to their homemade doughnuts. Not to mention the preserves they make for your biscuit. All the servers and bartenders give exceptional service.
Always a great breakfast and brunch! We are never disappointed with this little gem. Everything cooked from scratch and the best ingredients! Service is always top notch! Love the Chicken and the Egg!!
We love this place. The food is consistently good. Don't understand why it's not busier on weekend nights. It's about the only place near the Marietta Square where you can actually hear your dinner mates and don't have to scream over everyone. Try the salmon and quinoa dish. It's excellent!
One of our favorite visits to this restaurant. Our server was really on the ball and the food was delicious
I love the ambiance of this restaurant. The decor is my style. The waitress was super friendly and all her recommendations were spot on. It was fairly quite for a Friday night but we dinned early so the noise level was very low which we like because we were able to catch up we each other the food was fabulous, the chicken fried steak just melts in your mouth and the pork with the mushrooms over German potatoes was very very good.
Definitely go here again! I almost forgot we had the pimento cheese balls for an appetizer, oh my I could have eaten a plate of those!!!
Great service/great food. Strong wine/liquor choices made it even better.
I adore eating here, especially Sunday brunch. Great mimosas and delicious food. Learned something new from management that you should know: their appetizers (which are outstanding, from donuts to hummus to breakfast breads) should be ordered and delivered to the table before you order your main meal. That way you get to take your time enjoying them before the entree comes. This is my go-to breakfast and brunch place!
Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Eggs were not good and had to be egg substitute. Small portions, overpriced. We won’t be back as this happens before and we gave them one more try since it’s so convenient.
Had a great brunch! Great service and good food!
Had lunch with my daughter's in-laws while they were in town, and chose the restaurant based on location. We had a delightful and tasty lunch in a very pleasant atmosphere. Would certainly return.
The service and did were excellent. I had family in from out of town that had never experienced farm to table. They were very impressed!
Food was very good. I do wish you would consider changing up the menu...or adding new things.
This is probably my 5th or 6th time eating here & I continue to want to REALLY like this place, but the food is just average. I've tried a number of things and they're just ok, but I had to send back the pork schnitzel because it was tough. The menu reads well, but the taste doesn't deliver REALLY good upscale southern cuisine. The best thing I've had is the squash casserole which they ALWAYS seems to run out of. Today, I arrived around 12pm & they had run out.
Guys, it's time to take the food up a few levels because it's not meeting the expectations of the truly open & inviting space and a delicious sounding menu. I want to like this place, but it's just not delivering on flavor consistently.
Consistent service and food for a great value. I would highly recommend for any occasion.
Went for brunch with my family. It was a lovely restaurant and our server was very friendly and nice. I will definitely be recommending Chicken and the Egg to friends and I think we may have found our new Sunday brunch spot ourselves!
