I adore eating here, especially Sunday brunch. Great mimosas and delicious food. Learned something new from management that you should know: their appetizers (which are outstanding, from donuts to hummus to breakfast breads) should be ordered and delivered to the table before you order your main meal. That way you get to take your time enjoying them before the entree comes. This is my go-to breakfast and brunch place!
Had a great brunch! Great service and good food!
Had lunch with my daughter's in-laws while they were in town, and chose the restaurant based on location. We had a delightful and tasty lunch in a very pleasant atmosphere. Would certainly return.
The service and did were excellent. I had family in from out of town that had never experienced farm to table. They were very impressed!
Food was very good. I do wish you would consider changing up the menu...or adding new things.
This is probably my 5th or 6th time eating here & I continue to want to REALLY like this place, but the food is just average. I've tried a number of things and they're just ok, but I had to send back the pork schnitzel because it was tough. The menu reads well, but the taste doesn't deliver REALLY good upscale southern cuisine. The best thing I've had is the squash casserole which they ALWAYS seems to run out of. Today, I arrived around 12pm & they had run out.
Guys, it's time to take the food up a few levels because it's not meeting the expectations of the truly open & inviting space and a delicious sounding menu. I want to like this place, but it's just not delivering on flavor consistently.
Consistent service and food for a great value. I would highly recommend for any occasion.
Went for brunch with my family. It was a lovely restaurant and our server was very friendly and nice. I will definitely be recommending Chicken and the Egg to friends and I think we may have found our new Sunday brunch spot ourselves!
Fairly loud due to concrete floors
Nice experience overall. Modern Southern food. Will be back.
There’s a reason it’s got that name. Great eggs. Delicious chicken. Hamburger, only ok. Should have stuck with my usual favorites— biscuits, French toast, all kinds of egg dishes. Staff is always accommodating and mimosas are worth the drive from Buckhead.
The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable. I think we will definitely be back
Brunch was awesome, our table was ready and service was great! It is noisy so hard to have a conversation with a larger group but not a big deal. We will be back for sure!
The brunch was simple, yet good... the mimosas were great .. service was friendly, I only wish we didn’t feel rushed.. we were there for our anniversary and the check was brought before we were through having mimosas. She had to print another because we were not done.
Was there two weeks in a row. Week 1 was excellent - in every aspect of experience. So I returned week 2 with friends. Menu vs availability of food was horrific. Out of wine ordered. Out of beer ordered. Out of appetizer ordered. Out of 2 desserts ordered . Out of after dinner martinis ordered. Became a sad joke when the waitress would come back to explain time and again. Not sure as to why, but my guests speculated that restaurant is not doing well and was attempting to manage down inventories. Sad, as what we had was good, but troubling experience. Never experienced anything to that degree before.
It feels like you are in an old time farm. Like the experience.
Loved my visit- it was the second time I came. Each time I had egg-cellent food. You can go wrong with anything that has gravy!! Chicken Poutine was amazing. You can eat it all there easily, or take half home. For what you get, and quality, the price was fair. Btw- you can get French toast as a side (hooray for the indecisive!)
I would say to be careful of the drinks. Our server mentioned drink specials for the weekend- I didn’t realize some of our drinks were $9- each!! (Ouch!) Stick to the $3 mimosas- which were delightful!!
This was my first time eating here and I must say that I love the food, the service and the location. I had a 12:45pm EST reservation. We got out of church early, and decided to go ahead to see if we could be seat. They seated us at 12pm EST.. I have this restaurant on list my to visit again.
Went on Father's day and we we were in and out in like 40 minutes! Awesome food great value, we will be back for sure!
Went early to beat the crowds for Father’s Day. Got great service. Food was terrific and staff was friendly. Definitely recommend it!
It was Father's Day but we weren't rushed and had very good service.
The menu for brunch is extensive and provides great options. THe service was great as was the atmosphere and the restaurant itself. My biggest complaint was the food was very bland. There was little to no seasoning on everything we ordered - eggs, hashbrown casserole, omelets, chicken and biscuits etc. All of our dishes had little to no flavor and there was nothing great about the food. WIth the menu being so good and the options being so unique, I was very disappointed in the flavor of the food. I would not go back at this point.
Great casual eatery with lots of menu options, especially for breakfast and lunch.
Excellent brunch selections and relaxing atmosphere. Our server was training and she was very friendly, informative and organized.
Incredibly delicious “southern flair” food - flavors were amazing in entrees and sides. Thin mint martinis - yum! And server Tink was exceptional. Def will be back!!!
The food is always excellent! Better than most, if not all, restaurants with the same price point.
Very nice, relaxing, great service, great food, overall great!
The food and service was excellent. This is a nice restaurant to have an enjoyable brunch on the weekend.
We had a group that consisted of friends from Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia meet at Chicken and the Egg for Sunday brunch. Everything was perfect; the food was delicious, our server was knowledgeable and willing to make recommendations for each of us when asked. I really enjoyed the grapefruit mimosa as well.
I had dinner here on a Thursday when they (currently, 5/24/18) have a two for $25 deal going on. You get two mains and an appetizer to split for $25. This is an outstanding value as the portions are big to begin with, and the dishes are discounted and the appetizer is free. Even at regular prices, the value is very good, and I have never had a disappointing dish here.
This restaurant was recommended to me, based on my daughters visit during breakfast. The service was very good, but the food quality was poor and overpriced. The meat was overcooked and very tough. With Gabriels so close, I don't expect to be back.
Our server was excellent
The only complaint was that my husband's grits were not hot. It could have been the timing in taking the food to our table
Overall the food was good for all 3 dishes and I would visit again
Food and service were outstanding. But we had a 1:15 reservation and didn’t get seated til after 1:45. We understand this is a popular place on but just want folks to be aware there could be a wait even with a reservation
There is something about this restaurant I cannot put my finger on. They have good food, they have good service, but there is something lacking that I cannot specifically name. Each meal I've had there has been . . .okay. When someone suggests the restaurant, I go, but there are other restaurants in the area that draw me back more times. I want to like this restaurant more than I do. But I just can't name what it is that makes me stop at a certain place.
So delicious the country fried steak was amazing and best chicken and waffles in town for sure we will be back
Comfort foods at their best. Eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, grits, egg benedict...we've tried them all and have been more tham happy with each item. friendly servers. Good tea; even better mimosas.
Food was delicious service was quick and very good. Didn’t know it was going to be brunch as opposed to dinner though. Yet and still everything was great
Very nice Mother’s Day brunch!
Food was very good, especially the fried green tomatoes. Expected the chicken to be tastier given that’s their specialty...crispy, but needed seasoning. Was our first time (went for Mother’s Day); will definitely be back.
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I stumbled on it by accident but this was such an amazing little find. The ambiance is great, the food is wonderful and the prices are amazing! I've only gone during brunch so I can't speak to the lunch menu but the breakfast menu is very health conscience and I believe they use local ingredients. The staff is very nice, a little slow, but nice none-the-less. I would strongly suggest making reservations however, they are always so packed it might be very difficult to walk in and grab a seat.
