We love this place but we only have been there for brunch. We are hoping to come back for dinner but brunch is definitely worth trying!! I do have to say that service was good but not excellent. In that department, they need to work on but it wasn’t horrible. Food was your incredible and mimosas were great!
Amazing food outstanding service!
We got seated within 5 minutes of our arrival time for brunch. Party of 6. Our server was nice & attentive. They were out of the fish dip and fried green tomatoes, but we found some other yummy options. The featured bread was lemon pound cake with blueberry compote. Delicious. Spinach Benedict, Nap time breakfast, skillet meal were all delicious. (I am improvising the entree names...) I would definitely have brunch here again!
Delicious food and awesome service! The blue plate breakfast is so yummy!
drove here from Alpharetta to meet daughter at KSU and because it was in the Dining Pass book. We all loved the service and our meals....loved the german potatoes!
Food was kinda cold and came out wrong at first. No apology from manager. I would suggest you go elsewhere for brunch. Not worth the price they charged.
We usually go here for dinner but decided to try for Saturday brunch. The menu offers a large brunch variety which we loved! The only downside was a fatty/inedible piece of meat on omelet.
Excellent food and perfect service! Much too loud however. The restaurant could benefit from noise reducing walls and ceilings and a curtain or two. Overall, however, a good experience!
Great new years meal but too noisy. Will try another time when not so busy.
We made a reservation, but we were still simply added to an already long wait upon arrival. If you offer reservations, why out me in the wait list? My first Bloody Mary was weak and bland. The food was delicious, the portions were generous.
First off, we had a reservation for 12:15, but were not seated until 12:45. It then took forever for our server to take our drink order. (However, she was very pleasant...just not very attentive.) My friend and I split the fried green tomatoes as our starter. They had no taste. Not good at all. For my entree, I ordered the fried chicken and French toast. The French Toast was dry and tasteless and the hashbrown casserole wasn't seasoned at all. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles. Her waffles came out cold and tasted terrible (she made me try a bite to confirm). Terrible food for such a high price. I don't see myself going back to Chicken and the Egg any time soon.
food wAS LUKE WARM ALSO COFFEE
Wonderful to find a restaurant like this that sources from local farmers so everything is very fresh, AND that they have chefs, not just "cooks." Would have given this 5-stars except the waiter wrote down prime rib for my husband's order instead of the filet he ordered so I was done with most of my meal before my husband's correct order was brought to the table; however, the quiet atmosphere was good for conversation and we were not in a hurry so the overall experience was still very good. We will definitely go again.
The service was a bit slow, but the food is always good.
Waitress (sorry I can't remember her name) was lovely. :)
My husband ordered shrimp and grits and has had this before. He was disappointed in the amount of sauce they put on it. He wasnt able to enjoy his meal. There wasnt enough grits either.
Good. Coffee was amazing and my Benedict was incredible
We used to dine here frequently and enjoyed it very much. Lately it has suffered greatly in the overall service and quality of experience. We stopped coming for several months and decided to try again this evening. Sadly, it was a disaster.
Very poor experience all around. Drinks were slow to be delivered and nothing special (no garnishments, etc). Server was not familiar with the menu. She said it was all new, but it was the same items on a new layout.
Biscuits were brought with no plates. Entrees were served barely room temperature. Steak knives were not offered until asked for and the delivered blade first. Completely unacceptable at any price, let alone $32 for a tough filet.
The glass of wine ordered with dinner was forgotten by the server until reminded when she eventually found her way back to check on us.
Server did not ask if we wanted desert, how our meal was, etc. as expected, close out of the check was unacceptably slow.
It’s unfortunate...this use to be a fantastic restaurant and we enjoyed many great meals. No more...we will not be returning. If management would like, I will gladly discuss the experiences of late.
It was good with creative crafted dishes but, if you like creative vegetarian options, C&E has none. It's creative southern cuisine.
This place is great each and every time we go! Excellent food wait staff very friendly and meal choices are wonderful. Highly recommend
Server didn’t seem that into us.. I came out to brunch with my coworkers, after finally all getting the same day off and it seemed like we were judged from how young we looked. I think we were maybe put in the stereotype that young people don’t tip well, we all work at a fine dining restaurant and pretty much expect the same type of service and hospitality, which we didn’t receive. We felt like the server was doing the bare minimum because she expected us not to tip well which was frustrating because we do tip well but we were receiving service that wasn’t worth a great tip, so if we didn’t tip well we would have proved her stereotype correct so we just tried to ignore her negative energy and enjoy ourselves! That was the only bad thing about that day.
Nice restaurant. Good food. Great drinks.
Always a great place to eat!
The food was not very good the evening I dined there. I was a little surprised and disappointed.
I often visit The Chicken and the Egg for personal and business dinners. It is the perfect location with the perfect menu for a business lunch during the week... and the breakfast on the weekends in fantastic!
The food was delicious and Ariel was wonderful with our dining service.
Fantastic experience for wife's birthday. Service was attentive and the waitress took time to listen to us. Food was perfect, best fried chicken I have eaten! I put this place off several times thinking no way it would be what I wanted now I feel like I will be eating here regularly!
Always love brunch here. It never disappoints.
We went to The Chicken & The Egg for Thanksgiving expecting a delicious celebration southern style. The food was very disappointing, & the portions were small and over priced. We actually left the restaurant hungry, but the food was so awful we didn't mind. served like we were in an institution ( heard a guest say "for institution food it wasnt bad!").
we could go on & on, but what's the point. hopefully, the servers made a nice amount of income that day & that the owners didn't ( of course they're probably only paying the servers $2.50/hr, but that's a topic for another day).
for a "Southern " restaurant to serve like this on this day is disrespectful to the entire community!
The price was reasonable considering we are from out of town and had to find a place to have a Thanksgiving meal. The food was mediocre. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Thanksgiving: Everything (turkey, creamed corn, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoe casserole) was great except the pumpkin pie which was ok. Service was fast.
We were seated on time. Our waiter provided excellent service. The turkey dinner was delicious. We were very satisfied!
Great food & good family atmosphere. The staff is amazing.
Regular menu is outstanding. Thanksgiving food was cold, it all looked the same- mushy in a gravy or sauce. Turkey was bland, ham was ok. I have had better presentation of a Thanksgiving meal in a school cafeteria and the food tasted better at my parents assisted living Thanksgiving dinner. Small servings for the price. Extremely Disappointed. Service was outstanding shame the food wasn’t. Will go back again for regular menu but not a holiday. Comfortable ambiance.
My only complaint is that there was no ice in our water and it was never refilled.
Occasion was Thanksgiving lunch. Asked for a little extra gravy and was told it would cost extra. Dressing was a bit dry and had no gravy on it. Turkey had very little gravy over it. For the fixed price, I would have expected a little extra gravy would not require an up charge.
Good food and good service. Nice place for Sunday brunch.
Had a nice brunch meal. Only recommendation from me, bigger coffee cups
Thursday night they have 2 for $25. You get an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Food is always good.
