Our server, Hannah C., was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, and not knowing, we made our dinner reservations at the end of their serving day 4pm... (Easter Sunday), so not all the food was still available to order. All in all the food was yummy and service was great so it wasn't a total loss.
Our waitress was both rude and inattentive. Waters not refilled and I never given water even after requesting. Many items on menu not available but instead of letting us know upfront we ordered and then told “sorry we are out of that” happened with 5 items. When she delivered our beverages (not water) she slammed each glass on the table. It was a family Easter Brunch and the experience was both poor as well as embarrassing to our guests we invited. We will never return.
Easter and my birthday brunch! Great Southern food with a farm-fresh flavor.
Long wait even with a reservation but once at the table, the food and service was great (it always is).
This is my second time having brunch here. The food is delicious and well worth the wait.
This was our first time patroning this establishment and it went well! Food was great and service staff was excellent. An overall wonderful experience. We will visit again in the future.
Tina did an outstanding job taking care of our Easter brunch.
Delicious meal! Always our favorite place to entertain.
Mom loved it!!!! We will be back!!! Our service was great and the food , amazing
Upon arrival my fiancé were seated immediately (the only positive of our experience). We were approached by our wait staff rather quickly but we already had our drink orders in mind. Approximately ten minutes after putting in our drink orders our server came to apologize for the delay in our drinks due to problems putting in our order (mind you, my fiancé ordered a signature cocktail off the menu, and I a classic Manhattan; nothing spectacular). After another ten to 15 minutes our server came back to inform us the bar ran out of cherry (my fiancé’s drink was some sort of cherry Old Fashioned) and wanted to make sure we were okay with that. Sure, fine, a normal old fashioned is okay. Twenty minutes in and we finally put in our food order. Still no drinks...food order is in and we’re waiting for drinks with two empty water glasses after 25 minutes of sitting. We continue to sit and wait. After sitting for nearly 40 minutes with neither food nor drinks (nor water at this point) we decide to cycle our order. After 40+ minutes of waiting and no service, our money is better spent elsewhere. I will not return here and would not recommend this restaurant for you either.
Our service was excellent, and the food was delicious.
Country fried steak was over cooked and burnt to a crisp. Food took longer than normal to come out.
Good service and food!
Loved it. Nice atmosphere. Kid friendly
I went to the restaurant recently with my family who were visiting from out of town. A few had chicken and waffles and remarked on how succulent the chicken was. We enjoyed the mango mimosas as well. I informed the waitress that it was my cousins birthday and she came up with a clever way to find out what dessert she wanted by taking a poll of all our favorite desserts. At the end she and the other servers came and sang her happy birthday, something they dont normally do. I would definitely recommend and plan to visit again!
We happened on this outstanding Eatery through a TripAdvisor review and we were pleasantly surprised! It's tucked away in a little strip plaza, but don't let that deter you. The ambiance, food and service was outstanding. We were there during the middle of the week, so we didn't have to deal with much of a wait.
It was okay. I’ve heard past reviews and recommendations so I decided to try with a friend. The food wasn’t all that spectacular. The biscuit was good but the rest of the food was a little bland. The environment was nice but lighting a little low for me. Service was pretty good so that was what made the experience enjoyable. I didn’t get to try everything so I can’t say much but food temperature was not hot enough I know that.
We absolutely Love this restaurant! We are new to Georgia and we fell in Love since the first day we came in. We are regulars now. Whenever our friends and family come to visit we bring them to your establishment, they Love it too!
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Chicken and the Egg is a great location for Sunday brunch. They have amazing food and reasonably priced mimosas and bloody marys.
Nice eclectic, rustic restaurant. Good for breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable and menu usually stays fresh according to season.
Jordan was our server, and she made our visit worthwhile. Poached eggs were too dry, and the scrambled eggs a little runny. Natural bacon was very tasty. My biscuit was cool to the touch. Mimosas were very good. My friend enjoyed her complimentary birthday dessert (some sort of chocolate pudding/mousse). Noise level made it hard to talk during first part of lunch.
I came in for a visit from Ohio and chose this restaurant to have lunch with friends. Service was below par, asked more than 4 times for a simple dipping sauce and when I told the waitress my fruit cup,was spoiled ( watermelon shouldn’t fizz in your mouth), she simply said she couldn’t control what came out of the kitchen. Well,ok. I can control where I eat.
My first time at restaurant, food was good, kind of loud, but overall it was good
Great brunch place with delicious takes on southern dishes. The fried green tomatoes are amazing. Love this place and atmosphere and it's my go to for a nice brunch.
We have been coming to Chicken and Egg for brunch for the past year. Each time I leave, I feel as if I've paid some good money to eat here, but the overall food quality just didn't live up to the promise. For instance: I ordered the Bayou Omelette. It arrived as a flat disk of scrambled egg with the accompaniments on top. It was fine - but not what I expected as an omelette. It seemed that getting something on the table was more important than spending time cooking and presenting the omelette. Clearly, the scrambled egg disks were created ahead of time and then customized for each type of omelette. I can get that at an all-you-can-eat buffet at a hotel. The toppings were okay - but I've had other omelettes bursting with toppings. The biscuits were small and cold. The butters and jams were a little small in quantity for our table. Our server was wonderful, however. It's just that - well, everything is okay - and to be honest, I'll be fine coming here, but it's not a favorite and it's not a place I would recommend. I'll go here if someone else really wants to. That's the crux: good in idea, but meh in execution.
A not so well known gem located in Marietta. Chicken and the Egg is an eatery where you can expect quality product that is prepared tastefully. Food is always consistent. One of our 'go to' places when we are in the area and are looking for a fine dining experience. Price point is spot on and maybe less than what you would expect to pay for comparable product.
This was not my first time at Chicken and the Egg its actually a place I love and frequent, first time bringing someone for their birthday! My family and I brought my Mom there for her 54th birthday and she loved it. And who doesn’t appreciate farm to table 😌
First time visit and it was great! Didn’t wait too long for the food. The chicken is amazing!
This was my second-time at Chicken and the Egg. I don't remember what I had the first time, but obviously, it merited me coming a second time. This time I had the braised short ribs and grits. I enjoyed it, however, the meat was tender and quite tasty, but did not have enough of the gravy to keep it from getting dry. The grits were cold and hard, but surprisingly they were tasty. My friends had a slightly different reaction to their meals. They thoroughly enjoyed them, or so they said to me and the manager when he came to our table.
First they were out of the crab and crawfish. Then I had to ask the waitress 3 times for a fruit side item that I ordered. I eventually cancelled it.
The brunch menu items were delicious and really helped having a reservation. The busier they are, the louder the room gets. But this wouldn't prevent me for going again.
Service was great. Food was delicious. Only issue we had is our fries and hash casserole were cold when we received them. Our waiter rectified that issue by bringing us out fresh steaming hot replacements.
Good food, unique place. Our server Kaitlin was great....funny, helpful and professional. Great experience!
Our second time here. Our server was fantastic! She was honest about all the menu questions we had.
Downside: what’s up with the biscuits?? Hard as rocks. Not tasty at all. For hitting the mark on all other food aspects you would think this basic would be awesome. Not the case
Inca was the best server ever! Kept our mimosas full, never rushed us & was super sweet! Will come back because of her amazing service!!!
I thought I’d try the house special of fried chicken tenders with French toast. The toast was too soggy for my liking and there was an ice cream sized scoop of butter on each half of toast - making it too sickly. The chicken was nice but a very heavy coating which was a shame as there was more coating than chicken in some places. I have never had a bad meal here before so I will come again - I’m glad it wasn’t my first time as this would have put me off coming again. I won’t be choosing this meal next time.
Great place! Cute inside. Deceiving from the outside!! Service was tops, so was the food!! Will definitely go back again when we are visiting!
Food was great service even better We were in a hurry and they were quick
If you have a reservation for 12 pm then you kind of expect to be seated at 12 pm. We still had more than a 15 minute wait with reservations. If you can’t accomodate the time frame then don’t offer reservations.
I absolutely love Chicken and the Egg. I discovered it about 2 years ago and is now one of my favorite brunch spots. The staff is friendly and provides quality service. The food is delicious, satisfying and accommodates a variety of dietary restrictions.
