Chicago's - Roswell Ratings and Reviews
Chicago’s dirty martinis are the best in Marietta. Everyone should serve them with blue cheese olives. I came for the special of lamb chops and they did not disappoint. My husband had his favorite which is fried shrimp and mashed sweet potatoes. He loved his entree too.
A birthday dinner was the occasion. We love Chicago's because, in addition to dining in a lovely setting, with wonderful food, there really is no noise level to consider. Friends can talk and visit without having to shout over noise. It was so nice to have Eric as our waiter again and the service was, as always, superb. I had the Osso Bucco which was fantastic!. An evening at Chicago's is special and we look forward to many more.
After several disappointing visits over the past couple of years, we returned due to more recent positive recommendations. Our waiter, Eric, was outstanding, the hostesses welcoming, friendly and professional. The food was very good, but not quite great. The large, bone-in, "cowboy" Ribeye had excellent flavor and was tender, but was much thinner than I prefer. The baked potato was good but not of the perfect variety Chicagos used to consistently offer. House salad, with house dressing and croissant was perfect. Wine prices reasonable, and the Woodford Reserve pour very generous! She Crab soup and fried shrimp were very good. There is still room to improve, but we will be back more frequently as a result of this visit.
The food was awesome!! Service was great!! Sat us at a center table which was way too close to the people at other tables around us. While other, more date-worthy tables were open the entire time we were there. I rate them well... but need hosts that know how seat patrons properly.
We had a lovely dinner with 2 other couples Fri. night. Our service was so pleasant and good. We recognize that the new owner is really there and trying to do all the things that are necessary to have a successful restaurant. We like the menu since really there is something for everyone and good price points. The food is very good and presentation excellent. We had a 7:00 reservation and they were ready for us at a nice round table. We enjoyed out total dining experience!!!
Back in July, I had written a rather awful review about Chicagos as the food had gone downhill. What a surprise it was to receive a call from Mark, the new owner, who listened and validated all of my concerns. Fast forward to this past Sunday evening and we were able to visit Chicagos again. The menu is back to the same recipes as in the past, the food was wonderful and the service was great. Mark took it upon himself to introduce himself to me (he had told me to let him know when I visited the restaurant but since I didn't leave my review for "favors" I didn't feel right to make myself known) and was so wonderful. We will definitely visit Chicagos again.
Once again, NOT DISAPPOINTED! Been visiting for many years and the food and service have always been excellent. The had specials of Porto Bella mushroom appetizer (definitely need to make this a "regular"). The crab stuffed Tilapia and Beef Wellington were excellent as well.
We had a group of 7 together for a birthday celebration and had a great time. Liz was our waiter and did an awesome job of taking care of us. We started with stuffed mushrooms and tenderloin brushetta. Both were very good. The pecan crusted fried chicken and shrimp and grits were the favorite entrees. To finish up, we shared a nice selection of desserts and coffee. Very good meal at a good price. I highly recommend.
Was given the wrong type steak tonight NY Strip when I ordered the Ribeye special...and had the manager argue with me about the steak. I know the difference between the cuts of beef that his restaurant offers. If I could only place a picture here. Everyone would understand my gripe. A Ribeye that has no eye, no fat cap and no Ribeye cap is not a Ribeye...no matter how you cut it. Our server Courtney was great however, she saved the deal. I am disappointed with my experience.
Our 4th meal after the new owner (Mark) took over. The food was delicious and the salad with croissants was reinstated and much appreciated. Service has been steadily improving with emphasis on Mark's supervision and his great memory of his client's names. He really is striving to make the diners feel at home and appreciated. Our experience started a bit wobbly when our children arranged for our 52nd anniversary dinner in June. The order was messed up with the wrong entree being brought to the table and a waiter who was clearly new and overwhelmed. But Mark rose to the occasion and comp't our meal with apologies. Since then the former chef has returned and the service has improved exponentially. Well done,Mark!
Everything on the menu is delicious especially the oysters Rockefeller. I heartily recommend Chicago's. I can't comment on the bar scene since we only go for dinner but the live music filtering through to the restaurant seems first class.
The food at Chicago's has improved greatly under the new ownership. They brought back the croissants!!! I had the Beef Bolognese and my husband had the fried shrimp. Both were quite good.
This was my second time going in a week and I have to say that both times the wait staff was not overly friendly or accommodating. The first time, I felt rushed to leave as the waitress kept walking by the table and looking, as we had already paid but were talking. While busy, not every table was full. I had to ask for a tea refill. Our latest experience was the same with the wait staff, not terribly fast or accommodating--again had to ask for tea refill.
We will go back because reasonably good food, that is not fast food, is hard to come by in this little niche of East Cobb. It would be nice to have the staff seem happy and be more accommodating.
You can count on Chicago's for consistently good food, outstanding service, and its nice to go in to restaurant and be welcomed back by the owner. This is a neighborhood gem 5 minutes from our home and our "go to" restaurant for special occasions, family celebrations, or just a nice dinner for two!
Chicago's is pretty much a neighborhood restaurant that we have been to many times, but we went last year and weren't that impressed, so we found other places. Then I read on a neighborhood website that it had a new owner and we tried it right away and loved it. (And this has nothing to do with the fact that the owner always remembers my name!) Some other people on the website had issues with it, which I brought to the owner's attention, because I had loved all my meals, but thought he would welcome the feedback. He did, I think! Then when we went Wednesday night with our friends, the owner was outside, helping another customer out of her car, and he welcomed me by name and was so excited to tell me that the former chef had returned, and we definitely could tell the difference. I had the special, founder franchaise with parmesan risotto, and the fish and the risotto was amazing. Also, it was Ladies's Night and all the martinis were $5. Sadly, I only managed to finish 2! This is a lovely place and if you should have issues, bring them up to the owner, as he really wants it to be a great place to eat.
