Ordered the steak and crab cake ($44). The steak was good, but the crab cake was not made with lump crab. It was made with the cheaper pieces and a lot of filler. It was almost a muddy flavor. Wife ordered the sea bass ($45). They took a beautiful piece of fish and battered it and dumped teriyaki sauce on it. For the price paid, the quality was very disappointing.
Great food and staff. Proprietor and management checked in on our dining experience. Very friendly and made sure everything was satisfactory. Would definitely return when back in the area.
Very poor food flavor and presentation. Waited more than 20 minutes to be asked for a drink. Food tasted awful.
Very Good, Steaks & Chops & Best Prime Rib & friendly staff.
Food and service were excellent! A little pricey but we knew that going in. The table next to us was very loud but we knew we couldn't say anything because it looked like they were friends of the owner, but he should have sat them in a different section. Other than that a very nice time!
I was going to order the surf and turf, then I asked if the shrimp was fried, and the waitress indicated the menu said so. It did not. She insisted on looking at the meno. I have a grad degree. Since I haven't eaten fried food in years, I switched to bacon wrapped sirloin. It arrived on two pieces of bread. I've never had a steak served to me this way in any high end restaurant in NY or Chicago. If you want to step back a few decades, this is your place.
VERY ATTENTIVE STAFF. GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE. CUTE PLACE, NEEDS A LITTLE UPDATING, BUT STILL COZY. EASY LOCATION TO GET TO, PLENTY OF PARKING.
Very over priced. Ordered a filet which was mostly flavorless. Got it served Oscar style and for some reason, they also served it in a bed of red wine sauce which clashed with the bearnaise sauce. We wanted to like it, but the food just wasn’t that good, especially for the price.
A little dated, was expecting more . Food was good . People are friendly, just needs a little more up keeping.
When we made the reservation, we did not specify that it was a birthday celebration, so I do not know if anything would have been done differently if the staff knew. The food was excellent, and the selection of wine was ample. My husband said the Manhattan was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were surprised that the owner stopped at each table to say hello and have a short conversation. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Managers checked to make sure that everything was going well, which it was. I only wish that there was more time in between the course servings.
hard to find better beef selections and the spinach au gratin is amazing. Absolutely delicious.
I live in Northwest Indiana some 90 miles from Chicago Prime Steakhouse. The trip is always worth it. I love how George (The Owner) is always visible and interactive. He visits every table to check out your dining experience and makes sure your food and drinks are the most perfect he could possibly make it. All aspects of Chicago Prime Steakhouse is excellent and second to none. Thanks again for a great time.
If you want a good steak in the burbs, this is the place.
It was fabulous wine and food. We love Chicago Prime
16 oz strip steak was perfect, service, bar, staff all wonderful, not much else you can say.
Thanks to George for making it a great evening.
Can’t go wrong at Chicago Prime. Great food and an amazing staff. Service is exceptional. They do a great job top to bottom. Highly encourage CP over the alternative options in the area.
The chefs recommended filet trio is outstanding! Great opportunity to try multiple topping....My son loved the NY strip, hubby loved his steak Diane.
Food was delicious, everything came out fast and hot. This place is the pure definition of you get what you pay for.
Very nice first experience, overall food was worth the price. Only downside was waiters attitude. When ordering dessert, we asked if they had hot chocolate. He said “no, go to McDonald’s”. We were definitely not in the same age bracket as their usual clientele but definitely unprofessional.
Good food and service. Wine bu the bottle list was very good, however the wine by the glass options were very poor.
My steak was more like rare than the medium rare I ordered but it was still delicious. But everything else was fantastic and great service. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone.
our favorite high-end restaurant. If it was less expensive we would go there a lot more but we do reserve it for special occasions.
Wonderful old school style American beef! I loved it but my cardiologist not so much..but you only live once. Great attentive but not overbearing service. Could use an atmosphere facelift perhaps but maybe not--its part of the decades old vibe
Beautiful atmosphere our waiter was excellent made it more enjoyable!
The atmosphere and service were exceptional. We really felt welcomed and like they wanted to serve us well. Our server, Monica, was especially friendly and helpful. I give this review 4 stars because, while the meal was good, I don't feel the quality was up to the caliber of the price paid for it. I splurged for our anniversary and ordered a "Cowboy Cut" bone-on Ribeye steak that was unseasoned and contained more gristle than a steak of this caliber should have. It was tough to chew on pieces of it. I ordered an Oscar topping that was delicious and it provided the steak the only seasoning it had. It lacked salt which would have enhanced the flavor quite a bit. Everything else about our meal was great. The place is called "Chicago Prime Steakhouse" so, of all things that should be top-notch, it should be the steaks. It was overpriced for what we received.
After years of badgering my son to go here we went for restaurant week. He was very impressed and liked it better than Morton's. The chopped salad was fresh and attractive, the waiter accommodated my request for the cheese on the side. The only thing we liked better at Morton's was the mashed potatoes. They were nothing special. The Tiramisu was some of the best I've ever had. Our waiter was great, I think his name was George.
took advantage of the restaurant week pricing to visit Chicago Prime. The service was outstanding. the steaks were soft and full of flavor. The desert tasty. It is a good place to visit.
our reason for attending was to see and listen to tony ocean. our experience was enjoyable, and on this occasion it was to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the show and mingling with friends. our only concern was the limited dance floor: but we managed. Our server Jessica was very efficient and courteous. All considering it was an enjoyable evening. fyi: I ordered a cake to be served to us and guest but i could not believe that it cost with taxes 61.00. if i had known the cost i would have passed on it.
The food is great and the ambiance is even better!
The wait staff was outstanding and the food was great.
There are few places where you can always depend on excellent beef cooked to perfection. The spinach a gratin is outstanding as well
Birthday dinners for my wife and her side of the family. Several of the staff came over to make sure we were enjoying our experience. Cowboy cut stood out, but all the food was incredible. Overall, perfect experience!
I always love going to Chicago Prime Steak House. The only thing that disappointed me this time was that I went to experience the deal for restaurant week and it was not offered to me. I ended up spending twice as much as I had planned. However, as always, the food was outstanding.
For first time diners 2 of 4 had never been. he took or dinner order but did not ask for sides, we had to request. Also they were out of apple purse dessert . Odd on such a busy night to be out. Didn’t ask if we were celebrating Birthday even tho I noted in reservation. Wouldn’t go back.
We had never been to Chicago Prime but saw them on Restaurant week listing so thought we would try. Sat in bar area which was fine. Our waitress was great. Food portions were large and food was delicious. Would go back again and would recommend.
Bacon on the bacon wrapped steak was burnt so made the steak taste like burnt bacon
Everything was very good. Sat in the bar with live music which wasn’t too loud.
good but over-priced xxxxxxxxxxx
Friday night dinner at Chicago Prime was amazing! Not only were the drinks and dinner prepared to perfection, but the service and the ambiance were on point.
Unlike other steakhouses, Chicago Prime is quite unique. Chicago Prime prides itself on personal approach with family touch; it's easy when the George is present to greet and work the room like a master.
Thank you, George, for spoiling us with such an amazing staff and taste!
