Chicago Prime Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Always a winner -- our go-to place is Chicago Prime. The apple purse a la mode was our dessert this time and amazing. George the owner always takes such good care of his customers and is so debbonaire. Best service and food is here. The live vocalist was especially wonderful this evening. Thank you for an amazing meal and celebration!
Went on Valentine’s Day, will never dine there again on that day. Understanding that everyone was busy but the service was really poor. The manager (who I think) was just randomly selecting people for tables even if a lot of us were waiting for the reservation time (which they were 20 minutes behind on). The server was obviously preoccupied and when taking our order was looking around at his other tables. Asked how my husband would like his prime rib cooked (what?) and just assumed I wanted my steak cooked medium. Corrected him and prayed that he actually listened. Forgot our drinks twice. Food was good. The bus people were excellent. Any other day it is good, but I suggest not going on a holiday unless you want poor service. You are paying a lot of money to eat here, I expected better service.
I’m actually surprised I’m leaving a negative experience due to all the positive reviews and I might of just had a bad server and management experience. We arrived promptly at our reservation time 6:30 and was seated immediately which was real nice considering how busy they were for Valentine’s Day. Our server Armand was pleasant and informative. It all went down hill when our food arrived and dropped off without our sever and sat on serving tray for about 10 minutes until I asked a passing server if it was our food she was very nice and served us. All of our food was room temp by that time and when my server finally arrived we had sent our food back they brought us new set of steaks but same deal not hot at all and didn’t want to make a big deal and wanted to continue with the evening . Asked for bread and water took 30 min. And when I expressed my experience with the manager he gave me a bottle of wine and aid I’m sorry what can I do I’m swamped with 50 people in the lobby waiting to be seated. Will consider giving it another try in hopes this was a special ocasión that over extended their capabilities of their services.
We wanted a romantic evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This was our 2nd visit to Chicago Prime Steakhouse, & we look forward to many more visits for special celebrations. The ambience was quiet and reserved, and with reservations, we did not have to wait to get seated.
Both the manager and server paid exceptional attention to a member of our party, who has significant food allergies.
Portions are generous in size, with the entrees including a dinner salad or cup of soup. Everything was superb, even the steamed vegetables.
The only minor issue we had was with the Valet Service. Although free and a lovely bonus in a big parking lot, the attendant had far too many cars to keep up with when we arrived. After dinner, we had our car in a minute.
We arrived a little early for our reservation they seated us right away we were there celebrating Valentine's day got a nice quiet table in the corner drinks were on point service was great food was also great a little pricey but I think it's was the same $$ as similar steakhouses we enjoyed our time together at Chicago prime
Enjoyed the exceptional service and delicious food at Chicago Prime! Everyone in our party was impressed with their meal. The atmosphere is elegant and comfortably quiet (enough to share a conversation). The only downsides are: it was a bit cold and costly (but worth it).
We had a wonderful evening. We had drinks at the bar before dinner, and found out there is live music most evenings in the bar area. That might be something we try another night.
Our waiter was excellent and did not rush us.
We both had beef of some type and it melted in your mouth! Even the reheated leftovers tasted great.
We'll go back, but for the price, it will have to be for a special occasion.
Reservation was for 7:15 got there at 7:10, did not get seated till 7:45 which was pretty annoying since my wife and I where hosting family. Had to ask a few times when our table would be available. I was asked if we wanted to eat at a high top in the bar instead which was pretty insulting. Once past the lack of personality and urgency at the hostess stand everything was very good. Food was very good and so was the rest of the staff.
My wife and I had a reservation for 8:30 pm on Saturday, Jan. 20th. Our table was ready upon our arrival at 8:20 pm.
What we have found in the past when dining at a steak house is that a party of 2 doesn't get the attention that the parties of 5 or more get.
However, this was not the case at Chicago Prime Steakhouse. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs the entire time. Food and drink were delivered in a timely manner. Food was outstanding!
We plan to dine at Chicago Prime Steakhouse the next time we are in the Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates market areas. We highly recommend this restaurant.
We had reservations and were seated in the bar. We kept smelling cigarette smoke. They must have had some kind of smoking area near the bar area where we were eating. Asked for prime rib on a Friday and they said they were already out of it at 6:45. The Filet we had was a great cut of meat and perfectly done. The escargot was salty. The spinach salad was so-so. The waitress would come by and say your appetizer isn’t here yet, salad not here, entree still not here? Clearly communication breakdown between kitchen & wait staff. Bernaisse sauce was cold. Told that was normal. For the price point, just not that outstanding. Doubt we’ll go back.
One of the best restaurants around. Superb steaks and all the extras. Better than all the rest. Excellent staff extremely helpful and perfectly attentive.
Comfortable and a great fit for romance, family dinners, special occasions, business, etc.. The steaks are absolutely EXCELLENT. Top notch chefs.
It is a bit pricey but so worth it. Have had our Christmas family dinners there and it is the perfect choice. Will be back soon. We love it!
I ordered the shrimp dejonge. It was soupy. I couldn't really taste the shrimp...it was more like a sea of liquid with mush in it. I was very disappointed. The only fish option was salmon... that was disappointing too. I had hoped to have any white fish for New Years. My
