"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The beef fillet is amazing! It is a wonderful place for a special evening with other adults.
Always outstanding food and service!
We celebrated our 21st anniversary and were really happy to have chosen Chicago Prime Steakhouse. Thank you for an enjoyable night.
This is my go-to restaurant for the extra special dining experience in the burbs. The food and service is second to none.
Was seated right away upon arrival for my reservation. Wonderful wine recommended by Ric. Great service by all food was delicious.
My wife and I have been coming here for years. Always great food, always great service. They treat you like family.
It was a lovely evening and everything was perfect. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and very nice. The food was delicious! I highly recommend Chicago Prime and I will definitely be going again!
Great placce for a romantic dinner. Background music, dim lights conversation friendly. The menu offers something for everybody, from tender steaks to great seafood dishes. The service is excellent and friendly. For the smoker there is an enclosed area with fireplaces.
It was Our first time there celebrating a friend’s birthday. Service was exceptional beyond words. Food was delicious. Ambience is very inviting, cozy, yet classy.
We have been to Prime many times. The food and service are always top notch. Everyone there makes you feel like they have known you forever
Absolutely wonderful steak. Try the Cajun scallops!!
Staff attention was excellent and our server was amazing. Food was okay, temp was off on both steaks with an uneven cook, mushrooms had zero seasoning, creamed spinach was good. Manager looks over the floor like a hawk at his staff. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing but it was noticeable.
a bit expensive bu steak was too good
DELICIOUS!!!! We will definitely be back!! Delicious steaks!
I would love to give this 5 stars and a yes as a recommendation but I just can't. My partner and I are huge steak lovers - we go to a steakhouse at least once a week if not twice. We happened to be out in the northwest suburbs and I found this place via google so we decided to make a reservation and give it a try. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance was perfect (the live entertainment was awesome as well). Unfortunately that's about it. The server assigned to our table was inattentive at best although very nice. I ordered a Caesar salad, the filet and crab cake meal with the soup, which was shrimp bisque. My companion ordered the baked French onion soup, a mixed salad and a porterhouse. He enjoyed the soup and steak, I only enjoyed my soup. Everything else was average at best and I just did not care for my salad at all. I was actually quite disappointed and underwhelmed given the price of the meal and the reviews that I read. Hopefully it was just an off night for them and perhaps one day in the future we will make our way back as we continue to try different steakhouses. But on Saturday, I was not impressed.
Bisque was very good. Had steak Diane medallions. 2 pieces were very tender and 2 pieces were so fatty and chewy I couldn't eat them.
My server was excellent, timely service, knowledge of menu. The manager came to the table for brief conversation, which was great. Food superbly prepared. Environment was clean and beautiful. My sons went to school with the owners at Elgin Academy. My oldest son is in heaven and this restaurant was his favorite.
The best steak house in Chicago. Awesome food, the best staff, and George is awesome. They always treat you like family.
Excellent family owned restaurant. Delicious food,
extremely pleasant staff and ambience.. Owner, management and staff are superb..
0ur favorite!! We highly recommend ChicagoPrime
Steakhouse and ChicagoPrime Italian!!!
We had early reservation (3:45) but no excuse for no servers there yet when they open at 3:00. Sat in deserted bar til some came. The delay did give us chance to order yummy stuffed mushroom appetizer.
Our server, Heather, was worth the wait though. Intelligent, fun, and attentive.
Food was good but had to send my medium-well cooked steak filets back for the medium-rare I had ordered. Took a while while my husband ate his rib eye (which was done right).
Wine reasonably priced. Overall good but for us traveling from Chicago not comparable to some of the great steak places here. But good.
Fabulous food as always. Pricy but well worth it for a special dinner. We will all be back!
Outstanding experience. We had a social gathering of 6 for business. The food was outstanding and the service was very helpful and professional. The manager/owner took a few moments to make all of the guests feel welcome, and appreciated. We will return.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner at Chicago Prime Steakhouse! Food and drinks were delicious, our server was fantastic, meal was well-paced, other waitstaff and bus staff were friendly and attentive, ambience was appropriate for a steakhouse.
The tables are pretty close together—we were at a 4-top but anyone sitting in one of those seats would have made it impossible to walk by, and it was a main walkway. Also it is not a cheap dinner! You get quality appropriate to the price, but just be aware. In my opinion, well worth it for a date night or special occasion.
Overall the experience was fair. For what we paid not so much. Steaks were over cooked. Also heard this from a couple of other tables. there are other places within this price range that are far better.
Perfect waste of a Saturday night reservation. Rude person answering the phone, had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, and when we were seated, they crammed in another table practically on top of ours - had to move two chairs from ours to fit it and felt like our elbows were literally bumping the additional table added to what was clearly a pathway. Understaffed, food took forever to order and get - tasted good when we got it, but our bottle of wine was gone long before the nearly two hours it took to get our main course. This place is about cramming as many people in as possible - no repeat customer here!
Been here for Valentine's Day dinner the last two years and am already counting down to 2020! We started off with saganaki, which came out cold. The server immediately brought us out a fresh, piping hot order. It was absolutely fantastic. We followed with the shrimp bisque. Absolutely full of rich flavor!! My fiance's salad was comped and also delicious. She got the bone-in ribeye, I got the bone-in KC strip. Both were cooked perfectly, mine melted in my mouth. I can't imagine anyone complaining about this place, though anyone can have a bad night. We highly recommend this place!
Awesome as always and parking sucks as always. Not enough spots and only one valet parking cars. Food is pricey drinks even more so (a Baileys on the rocks was $15.50!). But for special occasions, it’s worth it as the service has always been excellent!
The food was delicious !!! The Thai shrimp was amazing !
Calamari is the best we ever had ! George ,the owner, came to our table twice a very pleasant man. Our waiter was outstanding , knowledgeable and also entertaining. The steaks were great
Terrible meal. Ordered filet au poivre. Didn't come as a filet, came as 3 small medallions. First one was tough and full of grizzle. Second were better meat, but the whole of the meat had very little taste. Seemed like the sauce was out of a bottle. Wife ordered shrimp scampi which was also not good. They did take the scampi off the bill.
Used to be when you went out for a steak, this is the kind of meal that you received. Now it is a special occasion type of place.
Price of the meal is just a little high to make it a regular visit type of place.
They werent prepared on a known dinning out "holiday". Reservations set and seated 40-45min later
The food was mediocre at best. Both the steak and the sides were poorly seasoned. The worst part was not providing the customer a proper steak knife to eat the steak. They give you a butter knife for the steak. I asked the waiter for the steak knife and she told me they do not have one. Just let that sink in..... a supposedly famous steak restaurant with a steak knives. The $65 "Cowboy Cut" steak was very chewy and it had way too much fat in it.
Ambiance was pretty good and it was the only good thing that came out of the dinner. The noise level was higher than my liking because tables were packed very tightly to fit as many people as possible. We were literally angled at the table next to us, so much so that I was making almost as much eye contact with them as I was my date. However, it was a Valentine's Day dinner so it is understandable to a degree. I shouldn't be on a first name basis with the table adjacent to us.
The drinks were nothing special. They were overpriced for what they are worth.
Overall, Chicago Prime Steakhouse is a mediocre and wanna-be gourmet restaurant with unjustly inflated price tags and community style dining. Avoid at all cost.
We were there for Valentine’s Day dinner. Everything was very good, especially the desserts.
Outstanding service, very friendly, cozy atmosphere & great food
Miles behind the bar was awesome! Ric Rose our server killed it! best Prime RIb I've had in a long time.....Great night!
Classy but a little bit dated. Had the Cajun ribeye, very good. The sides are well optioned and fair to good. Service grea
we frequent this establishment about every 4-5 weeks enjoy the food and service
