Chicago Firehouse Restaurant
Over the course of two years, the restaurant was redesigned and rebuilt. The redesign includes a larger bar area, the addition of a solarium with floor to ceiling windows for increased seating, enhanced private dine rooms and a beautiful 2nd floor veranda. Guests will now enter through the Firehouse’s original entrance on 14th Street.

Had a wonderful dinner here. The Christmas Tree was beautiful and the food and service excellent!
Came in for a celebration dinner and it was perfect
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly Staff! Highly recommend
We were here for brunch on a recent Sunday early afternoon. The brunch menu is a bit limited and quirky. The food was alright but there were fewer selections than at other restaurants we have frequented for brunch. We have been here for dinner and would highly recommend for dinner.
Brunch before the theater. Delicious short rib Benedict and avocado toast that we shared. The surf and turf Bloody Mary was excellent too. Service was attentive and everyone was very friendly. Enjoyed and will be back.
Great atmosphere, great service. Definitely a find in this location.
Great food. Waiter was a dud!
Service was excellent. Food was average.
Great Steak! The service that Becky provided made it a wonderful evening.
Good food/ great service.
But, way too loud.
Literally couldn’t have a conversation at a table for 2.
Not conducive to conversation unless you’re in a large loud group.
Doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be:
Kind of elegant but not really and really casual standards - seems odd.
Gone from a Chicago classic to neighborhood restaurant.
Wonderful experience. All dishes were perfect!
Excellent food and service. The Chicago Firehouse is one of the best restaurants in the city!
There for the Thanksgiving buffet and it was excellent food. I am not a buffet lover, but even I was surprised!
The meal in question was their Thanksgiving buffet. The options were sufficient without being overwhelming, and everything we ate was excellent. Even though the restaurant was full, we didn't run into a line at the buffet. We may well try this again in 2019. I don't know how long they've offered a Thanksgiving buffet, but this was not the first time.
We went for Thanksigiving brunch. Could have been better due to the noise and the food selection wasn't all that good. Their regular menu is exceptional though. It's more of a steak place than a thanksgiving place.
The Thanksgiving buffet was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. My son and i loved it. We will go back to try the steak.
Wonderful Thanksgiving experience with Chicago Firehouse! My family and I reside in a "foodie town" so we're a bit spoiled by great food and comparable service. Traveling to Chicago for Thanksgiving and sought quality restaurant that was family friendly but not at the expense of fine dining and great atmosphere. The Firehouse surpassed expectations. The buffet selections were ideal - items one would expect for a seasonal meal but each perfectly cooked and presented. Excellent array for all preferences and tastes. Very good cocktails and desserts too. Staff members were conscientious, friendly, and prompt. An owner and chef were easily accessible for conversation. My party of four (2 adults, 2 teens) were so very pleased and we hope to someday return.
Great Thanksgiving buffet. Pleasant and efficient staff made us feel at home. Classic menu with something for everyone.
Our favorite place when in Chicago! The Thanksgiving buffet was outstanding!
Great meal and service
It took 10-15 minutes to get a glass of wine. About 20-30 minutes to get our order taken. I think they were understaffed. The sever was doing the best he could.
Excellent cocktails, great food, wide selection of great wines. Place is great!
Very very poor service. Not attentive waiter/ had to ask for everything without offering to bring ( like menus, children’s menu, specials, ketchup) Brought 2 rounds of other people’s drinks and food to our table. Burgers were less than average in taste, size and presentation and meat was broken into smaller pieces under some of our buns. Messed up a few of our orders and waited too long for them to be corrected. Very loud room- tough to hear conversation at our table. Best part was the valet- they were timely and professional. Will not return- too many other good restaurants in the city.
Great Food and even better service. Ordered my steak medium rare and it came out medium to well. They were right on it and delivered a medium rare cut within minutes. Wish I could remember our server's name, she was fantastic. We sat in the bar with a group of 8 before the Bear Game. Perfect spot to hit.
It was ok. My wife and I are regulars. We were really disappointed that the only menu that was available was the brunch menu. No seafood option and items you could get in any diner.
This past saturday was myself & 5 others very 1st time dining with The Chicago Firehouse. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Food was fresh, flavorful, and portioned perfectly. I will tell everyone about my experience with hopes of them coming on there own!!
Speacial dinner with dear friends
Food was excellent. Service was attentive to special dietary needs.
Food was excellent; drink selection is also very good. Nice evening, good service, good menu. Thank you.
Excellent all around! The special was to die for...great ambiance and service.
Food was very good, as was service. Unfortunately one of our orders was wrong ( ribs became something else) , but we decided not to fuss and enjoyed the mistake as much as the ribs.
Wonderful food with excellent service. Very nice atmosphere. It is expensive, but it is worth it.
It was obvious they were not happy that I was dining alone. Tried to force me to sit at the bar, even though I made reservations weeks in advance. Then, they put me at a table in the bar, which I objected....so they then put at a table right to the entrance of the kitchen. The restaurant was entirely too noisy to enjoy the meal.
The food was excellent and the service the same, noise level a little high but well with it!
First time experience for colleagues not from the Chicago area. They loved it
They've definitely slipped lately. Went for a dinner with my wife and literally everything was sub-par. Burnt calamari appetizer, first thing we ordered the kitchen "ran out of" (mind you, we showed up at 8:00 on a Saturday night) and then our next order took 75 minutes to even arrive at the table. Steak was 75% gristle and fat, waiter was non existent or just didn't care about anything.
It's sad, not just because a $250 meal was worse than what I could get at Chili's or TGI Fridays (literally), but because this place used to be pretty legit. They've fallen very far in terms of service, especially food and everything else. If the restaurant was crowded I could understand some of this, but it was far from being filled. One mistake here or there? Fine - but when literally everything is messed up and the wait staff doesn't care, the other tables are saying the same thing..."this place sucks now".
We went before a concert. Had prime rib which was good. Everything is ala cart. Didn’t care for the creamed spinach. Ambiance was cozy. This is not a steakhouse if you’re comparing to Joe’s, but it’s still worth a visit if you’re looking for a new place to go.
We come to the firehouse often and are usually very satisfied on all levels. This last visit was a great disappointment because brunch had been discontinued and no attempt was made to communicate this information. The food selections were sparse, the tables small and in general, it was very, very ordinary. What a shame and a disappointment. Let’s hope this improves soon and dramatically.
Went for my daughters birthday..I am a 'frugal' diner but she enjoys upscale. This was awesome and well worth the price!!( I will return if someone else paid for it:)) I ordered the beef and she ordered the pork with scallops..YUMMY to both!!! I only wish they brought us some more bread (without asking). The portions appeared small but we both were incredibly satisfied. Lovely Place. The bathroom was up two flights and pass the kitchen, down the hall, on the left..a long way but I was able to walk off some of that bread. A place for a special occasion but since I am being sustained on a teachers salary, this will not be a place to visit often. OH...I found FREE street parking AND they gave my grown baby a cookie and ice cream with a candle to celebrate her DAY....can NOT beat FREE!!!
First time here. Everything was great -atmosphere, service, food. Had a wonderful evening.
Excellent ambience, good service. The food quality is average for a restaurant of this level and the menu is pricey. This is definitely not a value type restaurant. It is good for a special occasion or romantic evening
