Excellent dinner and drinks. Super service and they are very true to their menu.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The cocktails were very good, the food was excellent, and the service was excellent as well. I was impressed with how accommodating the waiter was. We asked to share a caesar salad- they served it plated on 2 plates without us asking. Excellent attention to detail.
The food was good, but the service was a bit slow. The waiter spilled coffee from the cup into the sauce. He said he would get a napkin to clean it up but did not. The waiter asked if my wife would like her lobster cut out of the tail. She replied that she would like that, but when he didn't return to do so she cut it out herself. A second glass of wine was ordered and took quite a while to arrive. Great historic building and pretty good food, I just wish that the service had been a bit better.
We loved our dinner. The food was fantastic and our waiter was wonderful. Ordered the crab cake app. It was delicious. Can not wait to go back and have a steak!
Steak over cooked, waiter tuning to one of our guest with the water pitcher when she was sitting down. Waiter also spill cream on to one of my guest jacket
Place is too noise, food was very average
Delicious dinner and wine. Friendly and attentive service. Great atmosphere and A+ overall dining experience. Can't wait to eat at the Firehouse again.
Wait staff exellent. Had salmon entree that was overcooked but a nice portion. Thought coffee price at $4.00 was high.
Returned for anniversary dinner after getting married there ten years ago. Great remodel following the fire. Excellent service and great food.
I think another reviewer said this is a great find that hasn't been discovered by everyone yet. I agree, this was great food at not a bad price (250 for 4 people) for fine dining. The service was excellent and the decor was perfect for a Chicago Steakhouse. We all enjoyed it and spent about an hour and a half there. We felt no pressure to leave after we ate so we sat there and talked for about 30 minutes.
The food and service was great!
Service was outstanding, being attentive, helpful and friendly. Crab cakes were outstanding. Steaks were very good, but expensive. I was disappointed with the sautéed mushroom side. The busperson asked if I wanted them boxed, I declined saying I wasn't impressed. The manager came over to let me know they took them off our tab and wanted to know why I didn't particularly didn't care for them. All professional, top grade. I would definitely go back.
Our waiter was excellent, the bartender made a fabulous cocktail and the hosts were wonderful! Thank you so much for helping to make our friends’ birthday celebration great!
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and decided to have dinner here. The staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive to us. My wife has dietary restrictions, and they were more than accommodating.
We were there after concert at CSO, welcomed at door and service was impeccable. Wait staff attended to our needs in very professional manner. Noise level was at Minnimum .Food was delicious, carrot cake delightfully fresh.
We went for brunch. The place was pretty empty yet we hardly ever saw our server. I had to ask repeatedly for coffee. I ordered a side of fresh fruit but got dried out, wrinkly blueberries.
We were there for brunch. The French toast was a bit of a joke for $13 (it was more like just toast), but the crab cake Benedict was good, as were the lox and bagel. The ambience is nice, and I could see the place being ideal for a reception or private party. I would imagine the dinner menu is a bit more elaborate.
The experience was terrible. The food was sub par and came out cold multiple times. Although at the time we were the only ones in the restaurant for brunch they would not remake the food and instead proceeded to bring us microwaved food that was horrible.
Longtime neighbor, first time patron. Of all the items we ordered, the only disappointment was the prime rib. I would certainly recommend the octopus & crab cake apps, lobster bisque bowl with puff pastry, scallops, sea bass, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, & key lime pie. Of our drinks, the smoked Japanese whiskey with bourbon cocktail and the red Tuscan blend wine were our absolute faves.
Angela, our server, had a very fun personality, which obviously added to a great overall experience.
I must add: I live only a few blocks away and just adore macaroni and cheese.... Next time the craving hits, I will absolutely be getting carryout here. The noodles were al dente perfect and the cheese was rich and creamy. If you are also m&c connoisseur, you must check this great neighborhood spot out!
This is the first time I have dined at Chicago Firehouse since their renovation and it was beautiful. The bar area is cozy and vibrant. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and the ambiance was fabulous. Soft colors and comfortable tables. I wish that I remembered our waiter's name because he was terrific. Each couple shared a meal but he did not bat an eye. When my husband was not drinking his cocktail he immediately asked if he could get him another one because he realized the he did not like it. The pacing of the meal was perfect.
We had the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were delicious. My favorite was the key lime pie with oreo crust! What a great combination. A terrific meal at a beautiful location.
we went for our anniversary and were treated like the most important people there! the manager wished us a happy anniversary and our waiter surprised us with a free dessert!
We went for my wife’s birthday.
Quiet Sunday evening, restaurant was about 1/3 filled. Great food and generous portions. The NY strip was perfectly prepared and flavorful, as were our other courses. Waiter was nice but very forgetful. Forgot 2nd glass of wine for both my wife and me (we reminded him and it arrived 20mins later). Forgot side dish (never arrived). It wasn’t busy, so no reason there. We’d try it again, and hope for a waiter who had his Wheaties that day.
We had a wonderful dinner with great service from our server Hector.
Great Food, Drinks,Ambience was amazing!!!
Food was excellent except for the lobster Mac & cheese. They should try a baked recipe. We indicated on open table that we were there for a birthday celebration but there was no recognition. The decor and environment was excellent. The wine was great.
I could not rate the food because we never received it. Arrived early and was seated by 7:00 pm per our reservation. The waiter took the drink order and we had to remind him that we wanted appetizers as well. Thirty minutes later our drinks arrived. Twenty minutes after that the oyster Rockefeller and shrimp cocktail showed up. The problem is my wife ordered shrimp de Jonghe. The waiter apologized and put in a new order for the correct item. The time is now 8:00 pm. Our main entree was ordered at the time we ordered the appetizers. At 8:15 we questioned the waiter about or main coarse he stated he would check on it. Note the family sitting in the booth next to us had received their meal while we continued to wait. By this time its 8:20pm we had no meal and requested the manager. The manager said she would personally check to find out what was the hold up. We couldn't wait any longer because of the 9:00pm concert we purchased tickets for. Out of all the upscale steakhouses we've visited.Chicago Firehouse was the worst. Will not patronize again.
Food was excellent. The service was a tad slow but otherwise an outstanding meal and experience!
Friends treated me for My Birthday. The remodel of this Restaurant is Awesome.
Wait staff Awesome, Very Professional, Attentive and Friendly.
The Maitre d asked if we were celebrating a Special occasion, said Yes My Birthday I received an extra dessert ICE CREAM. Ice Cream very Good.
I will return with other friends to celebrate their special occasion.
Our waiter awesome sorry I don't remember his name.
Great high end place to impress your lady
It’s a steakhouse, so it’s more expensive that we’d like to pay for date night, but we had a beautiful meal and enjoyed great service. I had the filet and my fiancé had the prime rib. Both were delicious. The french fries were perfect, and the lobster Mac and cheese and asparagus were also well prepared
I'll first say that the food was good. However, if I'm paying $250, with reservations, I would expect a better table than one in the bar with a view of the dining room. Plenty of places in the city with much better ambiance.
My husband and I were thrilled to realize this gem had finally opened since the fire! The building is historic, the ambience inside with the decor and especially the murals is unmatched and the food is to die for...Husband had filet mignon with au gratin potatoes, oysters rockefeller and carrot cake for dessert. I had prime rib, baked potato, crab cakes and key lime pie. We were extremely pleased. Our server, Matthew, was warm friendly and very attentive. The hostess enouraged us to look around at the new solarium and the upstairs rooms for private parties. A couple different managers came to ask us how things were and they were genuinely friendly..not just "doing their job". It is worth the money and we WILL be going back
Pricy pricy pricy, and the strip steak wasn't that good.
We ate there at 1800 on a snowy Saturday during the Auto Show. By the time we left, the restaurant was getting full but the noise level was well under control. The filets were excellent. We had a well-intentioned waiter who was probably new to the job. We hope he gets a better feeling for what's expected of him.
Our first visit since the rebuild and we won't wait as long to return. Delicious meal, warm atmosphere, exceptional service.
Restaurant week was great! The food was excellent but I’m not sure the staff enjoys serving it. Our waiter was not the friendliest or the most attentive, ignoring us several times throughout the meal. The restaurant is beautiful and worth checking out. I will go back when it’s not restaurant week.
Everything was great. This may become our new annual Restaurant week place to go.
My wife and I have been to the newly reopened FIREHOUSE restaurant 3 times now, we were not really impressed the first 2 times with the quality of the meals, yet decided to give it another try during Chicago's Restaurant Week. The service was good, and my wife's scallop dish was good, but the strip steak selection I picked was very small and fatty. Even arriving sliced with the steak presented in a "fanned" cut couldn't really compensate for what I believed was a small steak cut for the money. Service was very good, however 3 strikes and your out
One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. Exceptional service and personable staff.
Allowed us to try several wines from their menu in order to get the one we would be the most satisfied with.
The Burning Landmark was the most unique cocktail I've ever had, served in a smoke filled glass.
Pretty pricey with reserved portion sizes. Did not leave hungry, but definitely no left overs.
Every dish was perfectly cooked to order and delicious. Worth it, for an occasional date night or special occasion.
Service was amazing and very prompt. Food was fresh and hot. The crab cake appetizer is a must try!
