In January 2000, The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant opened and became an integral part of the changing South Loop neighborhood. On December 10, 2014, a devastating fire started at the restaurant. Thankfully, all employees and firefighters were safe. Matthew O’Malley immediately vowed to rebuild. Over the course of two years, the restaurant was redesigned and rebuilt. The redesign includes a larger bar area, the addition of a solarium with floor to ceiling windows for increased seating, enhanced private dine rooms and a beautiful 2nd floor veranda. Guests will now enter through the Firehouse’s original entrance on 14th Street.
