About Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast". Chicago Cut's expansive surroundings feature a lively bar area framed by dramatic wine display cases; vibrant red velvet banquettes and spacious dining tables; and sweeping views of the Chicago River. A sprawling outdoor patio lining the riverside attracts diners throughout the day and well into the evening. Special touches abound, such as the restaurant's global wine list, which is presented to the guest via an interactive iPad program.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Chicago Cut is one of the premier Steakhouses in the city. The food, wine and cocktails are all top-notch. I was recently there with my girlfriend on a date and there were about 6 retired Cub Greats. I expected the quality of service to be under par for CC, but we were treated the same and the service was still fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful meal and experience.
I also recommend CC for breakfast/brunch. By far the best in the city and a great value for the quality of food you get. There is usually no wait, though I have not been on a Sunday. If the dinner menu is too pricey, this is the most cost effective way to get the CC experience.
Service from bartenders and staff was impeccable. My only gripe is not being able to talk to my husband over the small overcrowded tables without screaming across at him. The lobster cargot maybe one of the best things I have ever eaten! Overall great experience.
Steaks were good, but sides were just average. Not sure the food is worth the price - I expected outstanding food and got "okay" food. People watching was fun...lots of celebs. Service was outstanding - waitstaff, bar staff and hosts couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. CC's strengths are most definitely in their people and clientele. I'm more of a foodie, so I was a bit disappointed in the food.
Overall, we were not impressed with our experience. We felt rushed the entire time. We were in and out in 45 minutes. We ordered appetizers, but were asked by the waiter twice if we wanted to order our entree as well. We felt pressured so we did. Our entrees came out before we even had a chance to finish our appetizers. The food itself was nothing special. The sides were bland, the steaks were not anything amazing either. I ordered the 10 ounce filet and my wife the 6 ounce, there wasn't much size difference between the two. At almost $300 for two people, it is not a place I would recommend going. There are much better steakhouses in the city that are worth spending that much money at.
I loved the meal I had at Chicago Cut Steakhouse. Not only was the service outstanding and the ambience delightful, I found the steak and ala cart side dishes all to be superb. The wine list was also very extensive and made for a very enjoyable evening there. The bill was much less than I expected for the quality of the meal. I highly recommend it.
Chicago Cut is hands down the BEST restaurant in Chicago. Stunning dining room with views that are incredible. The service at Cut is top notch. Food delicious. Known more for its' steaks.... I also have to say it's fish items are great. I am not a steak eater and I had oysters followed by Ahi Tuna. Foie Gras appetizer is to die for. Special occasion spot. Wine list on iPads. Everything amazing about Chicago Cut.
Been a life long Chicagoan and to many iconic classic steak restaurants yet Chicago Cut blew me away. The service from all, the food preparation, presentation and quality as well as the setting made for a truly wonderful experience all around. I raved about it to all my family and friends and look forward to a time when I can return.
Prices on online menu were significantly less than those on the menu presented us upon arrival. $40 more spent on steaks alone than anticipated from what was advertised online. An establishment of their caliber shouldn’t surprise guests in this fashion. Otherwise, everything was excellent as expected at this top notch establishment.
We ate there for NYE and the waiter was blatantly trying to push us out. Didn’t appreciate it. Our reservation was at 8:30 - can’t imagine them having many reservations after us. Further, there were a lot of open tables around us.
My boyfriend and I went to Chicago Cut for New Years Eve to celebrate the new year. I have been to Chicago Cut many times before and have never had any issues. After this visit, I don’t know how likely I am to return. Understandably it was a busy night- tables were turning quickly and there were a lot of people in there. However, at a restaurant where I know I will be spending at least $250 for a meal I expect the best service (especially on New Years Eve). We started with a bottle of wine and then ordered the lamb chop lollipops as an appetizer and even ordered an additional one as there are only 3 that come with the dish. We waited for our appetizer to come to the table and as we waited about 35 minutes, our server took our order for our meals not mentioning our appetizer. 20 minutes later go by and our steaks arrive. Our server had completely forgotten about our appetizer. He sent over the manager and the manager was apologetic and said “this is a special night we will make sure it will be special.” We planned on getting more cocktails and dessert but was upset by the service and decided to get our bill. The manager brought us back our check and only comped our bottle of wine ($45). I felt that wasn’t enough considering our server completely forgot about our appetizer and each steak was $70. I think from now on I will stick with Maple and Ash.
We came here on New Years Eve as a party of 2. The tables are quite close to one another, but we were lucky enough to get a table in the corner so we only had one other table next to us. The food was AMAZING. Best prime rib I've ever had. It's a pricey joint, but the food is totally worth it. Our waiter was even nice enough to throw in a complimentary slice of cheesecake to finish the night. Would highly recommend. I will definitely be back!
Our server was fantastic. The GM of the restaurant came over to our table to talk with us and gave us his business card. We went for a NYE Brunch. Filet eggs Benedict and lobster bisque were both out of this world. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back again for the dinner menu!
Delicious! Usually filet mignon is tender but lacks flavor. Not at Chicago Cut! It was tender and quite tasty! Our server was personable and made excellent recommendations. The truffled scalloped potatoes are delicious but very rich, be warned. Definitely recommend Chicago Cut!
Chicago Cut was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The service was impeccable without being overwhelming. We went for lunch prior to theater matinee. Split pea is always good. We had some new items today - Dover sole, crab Louie salad, crab tacos and steak salad. All were delicious! Enjoy a special treat here.
