Great food and service! The view is beautiful as well! I can't wait to come back again.
One of the best places for steak...period. Great views and cocktails. Noise level is a little high.
We were excited to visit the Chicago Steakhouse due to recent reviews, however, we noted they’ve dropped from 5 to 4 stars. Some of the reasons for this may be excessive noise and a manager that upon a concern sits unabashedly flat to receive your comments. We were charged an extra $145 for a bottle of wine we did not order. They refunded us this amount but only after we’d already paid the bill. I personally felt rushed through the whole dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is not pleasing. It is a large square space with tables everywhere. No places seem much better than others. There is zero privacy or coziness so if you’re looking for this I would not choose this establishment. Our food was good not great and I will not return again.
We always have excellent service and our waiter Robert lived up to our experience. Thank you for yet another great meal
In Chicago for a long weekend and chose this steakhouse...was definitely not disappointed. We had a fabulous meal. The food was excellent and the service was fabulous. A wonderful experience!
Best steakhouse in Chicago hands down!!
Run don’t walk!
My birthday dinner- food was wonderful and service was impeccable! Can’t wait for the next special occasion to celebrate here!
Great meal, great ambience and fabulous service. One of our favorites in Chicago.
We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and were looking forward to a knock your socks off meal. Unfortunately we could have spent a fraction of the cost for an equal or better meal. The steak was nothing special (porterhouse), mashed potatoes - gummy, crab legs extremely strong fishy taste. On the other hand the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. Too bad the food didn’t match. Not worth the price.
Service and ambiiance overall was fantastic were great view of the river. Lobster escargot appetizer outstanding as were the sides. Expected steaks to be jucier. Ordered marinated rib-eye steak per servers recommendation. It was a little dry even though it was served medium rare. Would like to know in advance that crust is charred.
Our experience started good but when i ordered the NY Strip steak (rare) it came out dry with a burnt taste, I had 2 bites and that's it. When your paying $60 for a steak that's sad. My mother in Law's was the same, she ordered the Land and Sea and her steak was (medium rare) dry with a burnt taste. Very disappointed in the food. Service was good, but would recommend elsewhere for the money.
This was our first trip to Chicago and someone recommended The Cut to us. So glad she did! The food was superb And I won’t mention that I’m just maybe California’s biggest Cubbies fan :) as we were leaving, we noticed Jon Lester and his family eating dinner. WAY COOL! That was so cool to see that. Made my night even better. Thanks for an amazing dinner and Go Cubbies!
Great steak house in Chicago . We were in the city on an airport stop over and wanted to check out a classy restaurant in downtown Chicago . We were not disappointed but the food wine service or general ambience . This will be definitely a special holiday meal to remember for years to come .
Amazing food and service! This restaurant also knows how to cook a great black & blue steak!
The meal earl was great but the surprise birthday cake at the end of our meal was really nice. I will be dining on that patio a lot this summer.
All 3 out of town guests said this place is better than the four seasons chicago.
Everything is great, but the noise level is way too high. I don’t know how this could be fixed, but it detracts from the experience.
Little loud - ipad for wine list too slow - service was slow due to not enough servers/table captains. Decent meal
The dover sole was delicious and the service was superb!
Halibut w ramps and tomatoes for lunch was delicious
Very good. Waiter was helpful and attentive.
We took my wife there for her birthday for Sunday breakfast/brunch. we arrived at 930 am from the suburbs and quickly found a parking on the street. we arrived as they were opening and they were gracious and welcoming from the start. we sat in the corner with great sunlight and excellent views of the river. we had a phenomenal waitress Lisa. She was great with advice and treated my wife like gold. she laughed and teased with my college aged kids. The food was tasty and plentiful with a nice amount of choices. The pace was perfect. we left with my wife on cloud nine having shared her bday with her kids. i couldn't have asked for a better experience
The steak was just meh. I've had much better steak at all the other places in Chicago. The thing that really threw me into writing a bad review was not that the steak was so so but another thing. The waiter spilled a plate of appetizers on the table, breaking a glass which got all over the food, drinks and me. When this happens, I'm very forgiving and was this time as well - that job is hard. What wasn't so great is that part of the deal with these places is that they're supposed to be top notch service, and after that happened, 6 or 7 other little "eh" service things happened, no one came to apologize, just the waiter, who I think may have been a little tipsy, and they didn't comp a single thing for spilling stuff all over us, they only corrected the double charge of replacing the food and drink they ruined.
Everything was awesome, but one thing. We had asked for a table to be reserved for us right by the window facing the river a week ahead of time. We had an excellent dinner and good drinks. It was very nice of Cut to give us free cheese cake.
Our dinner at Chicago Cut was absolutely fantastic! We sat right at the window overlooking the river. The bone-in filet was cooked (medium-rare) perfectly, and the three lobster tails we ordered were amazing as well. The waitstaff was excellent... overall a fantastic dining experience.
Went for my boyfriend’s birthday. Great food and even better service
Excellent!! We got the prime rib and New York strip and the meat was great, I don't think you'll find a more impressive prime rib. The service is amazing. The food is great. The sides tasted great. Nice view of downtown Chicago buildings on the river. We came earlier than our reservation but were seated right away. The restaurant was busy giving it good energy but not too loud. My teenage kids thought that was their best restaurant meal ever. This restaurant runs on excellence.
My daughter wanted to go to a nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday. She’s 5. I made reservations for 2 people when we arrived we were immediately brought over to a lovely booth where we had an amazing view. No wait. I enjoyed a Cajun Ribeye she enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service and hospitality at this restaurant is always one step above. When I want to go eat a great tasting dry aged steak I know This is the restaurant to go to. My server brought over apples and carrots for my little girl while she waited for her entree. The buzzers move with urgency. The servers are friendly and hospitable. David and Matt have created an upscale dining experience and have great hard working people working at Chicago Cut. I’m never disappointed! Thank you guys
Will probably not be back. We had a reservation for 7 people, but we were seated at a small table that fits 5 while other bigger tables were open. Their own staff even had a hard time filling our glasses with water bec there's just no room for them to squeeze through. We timed it from the time we were seated, server took 30 minutes to take our order. In the meantime, all 7 of us were sharing 1 bread bowl, the same size they'd serve 2 pills. At the end of the meal, no dessert menu was offered, and I also specifically mentioned at the time of reservation that we're celebrating someone's birthday. We didn't even bother asking anymore, we just wanted to leave. Food was good but everyone in our party was turned off by the rest of the experience. What a shame.
Fantastic, been here 3 times and each time it was better! It’s not a quiet place and the tables are very close together so if you space and quiet this is not for you. But if you want one of the best meals you’ll ever have go!
This is the third high-end steakhouse that I've been to in Chicago, and let me tell you that the texture of my filet mignon steak was unbelievably tender! My boyfriend agreed, even his medium-well porterhouse was very soft. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with this being our first time here, he let us know which appetizers were too big and which weren't very tasty in his opinion. They honored my request to be seated at a table facing the river (a month in advance). I will say the lobster mac and cheese was good, not incredible. Excellent overall though, this is a very solid restaurant.
Delicious steaks, exceptional service and unforgettable views. Magnificent dining experience!
must go restaurant. food is outstanding and drinks are exceptional
We’ll be back
My husband, daughter and I were in Chicago for a long weekend. This was our best meal of the three steakhouses we ate at. The service was impeccable and very professional We will definitely be back on our next trip. Thank you to Marco for the fantastic service and evening.
Chicago Cut is one of the best places in dine in the country. They combine all of the best parts or fine dining in a manner that is warm and comforting. The food is absolutely fantastic and the well appointed bar and bartenders do not get enough praise. This is my family's go to restaurant for special occasions. We have been to Chicago Cut a few times and each time the service has been beyond compare. They really take good care of those that dine with them. A shout out to our waiter Matt who was thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive. We are already planning our next visit.
We went there for Easter Brunch and the food was fantastic. They had many choices of food and the seafood table was off the chain.
