Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast". We went for my fiancé’s birthday. The service was phenomenal. The entrees and soups were fantastic. I got the butternut squash soup and the sea bass, and my fiancé got the French onion soup and the filet minion. I would say that the sides were a little heavy, but that was our own fault for ordering the scalloped potatoes with pancetta and cheese (which was delicious). The waiter came and checked on us regularly and even attempted a pleasant conversation with us. He also brought out a free dessert for us when he heard we were celebrating a birthday. We had a wonderful time. The only complaint we had was it was quite loud, to the point we sometimes could not hear each other across the table. Overall, though, it was a wonderful dinner!
The food and service were exceptional... the only buts we have wee are the drinks-but it’s just minor. They carry Pepsi products, we’re Coca Cola fans and when we ordered a Manhattan cocktail, they put ice! Ouch! Still drank it though, but not what we were expecting. Overall we loved every dish that we had, and the service was great. The food came out quickly too, that’s important to us when dining out with a toddler! Can’t wait to go back!
Service was excellent and the place is very nice. Drinks were nicely done, kudos for the bartender. We ordered 2 filets, mine was “medium “ but felt not too juicy so I was disappointed. I believe it was over cooked a little, and the manager offered to change it, but it was late so I rejected his offer. In summary, very nice people but the food didn’t impress me.
Ambiance perfect! Service excellent! Food fair. Experienced many eateries, Chicago Cut food fair. Filet mignon on bone not much flavor, steak diamonico half of portion good other half not so much. Sides just okay. Wish we walked away feeling glad for our choice and would return,but we will not.
Overrated. Do not waste your money. Tables packed tightly together, too many personnel milling around tables, noise level extremely loud to the point where I was shouting to be heard , felt VERY rushed, food came out ridiculously fast and was subpar, constant platters of other people’s dinner orders or dirty dishes set up right on top of our table. A complete disappointment, other than pretty Christmas decorations and a nice view of city. Will not be returning.
Our waiter Rodney was extremely knowledgeable and very cordial. The recommended lobster appetizer was outstanding. Would definitely order again. Our steaks were properly cooked to our preference. Loved the truffled scalloped potatoes. The martinis were excellent. Johnathan, the manager, came to our table to see if everything was up to par. It was.
I was reeeeeeeally disappointed in this place. It was loud, which didn't bother me as much as the fact that the food was not impressive at all. I got the bone-in ribeye which was average at best--underseasoned and flavorless. My wife had the filet + scallops--both were very much below average. I will never eat there again... there are too many other good steakhouses around. I honestly can't believe that this place is popular. We are from out of town, and went here on vacation based on review websites/food blogs. Very very disappointed. Our server was good, roberto.
Chicago Cut never disappoints. The food is fantastic and the service is amazing.
They go out of their way to make you feel special. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and provided the right balance of space and service. Without a doubt, my favorite restaurant in the city.
Everything was perfect except for our waiter. He was clearly rushing us by bringing our bill before we asked for It, and picking it up when there clearly wasn’t any form of payment in it. My grandma specifically asked for a gap between apps and our main entree so that we could socialize- and our entree came out while we were still eating our apps.
Great steaks and service everytime. My only issue was it was our anniversary and I requested to sit at river window. Day of reservation while confirming my reservation, the gal told me yes she had us all set at window seat.. Upon arrival, young hostess told me NO, its first come first serve. I did speak to manager and he was nice enough to comp a couple of our drinks, which was very nice..
This was a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding - the service impeccable. We allowed our waiter to recommend our entree and sides and he did not miss. He recommended a wine pairing that enhanced an already astonishing steak. I cannot speak highly enough about the added value our waiter brought to the meal. I only wish I could afford to eat here every week!
When we arrived our table was not ready and we were directed to the bar to get a drink. Our table was ready then shortly and we were rushed to quickly lose our tab. Then the 2 women I was with and myself were told it was required that our drinks be carried to our table. I asked if they require the men’s to be carried as well, they said no. Perhaps they require this as a kind gester but I found it rude and sexist. Also my steak which was ordered as medium rare was over cooked and our mac and cheese was cold. Our server was excellent and did kindly remove the Mac and cheese from outback bill. For what you pay, I expected better food and to be treated better
Disappointed they did not find our RSVP which I had requested a booth because my husband is hard of hearing. This was a special occasion and we were put on a bench table with people on both sides. I found my reservation which requested a booth. She said they were saved for large parties which I would have understood but I made 6pm for this reason and there was a small booth at end that I saw was open the whole time we were there. Food was excellent as was the service just disappointing on seating.
The delmonico was without a doubt the best steak i have had in a very long time. The noise level on a Tuesday night was louder than I would like. That was due to the place being packed and I mean packed. Tables close together and everyone talking just added to the increased noise level. Did it negatively impact the meal, not really. The attention of the staff was top notch. I love ice water and the glasses were being refilled with ice and not just water. The personalized attention from selecting steaks, sides and refreshments just added to a fantastic experience. Our table started with fois gras which melted in the mouth, just enough for 3. We dined on delmonicos, NY strip and a bone in ribeye. Sides of brussel sprouts and scalloped potatoes. No room for dessert but we already know we will return. That bone in ribeye that my friend had looked real good.
Went for my boyfriend's birthday, all in all, it was a 3.5 out of 5. I will say our server Kirby was extremely attentive and made for a more pleasant experience. The "lobstercargot" was DELICIOUS- and easily my favorite part of the meal. Boyfriend enjoyed his filet-, I mistakenly got the vegetable risotto as my main dish (I don't eat much meat- but I guess I should've expected a vegetable dish to be sub-par).
Absolutely loved Chicago Cut! Fantastic food/drinks and it was fun to see a few things that aren't on the menu at every nice steakhouse in Chicago (the lobsterscargo for example). Also may have been the best service we've had at any restaurant in Chicago. A bit pricey but so worth it for a nice night out. Will definitely be back!
