Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Our waiter was really energetic and very helpful when it came to the wine and what we would’ve liked and not liked. I appreciated the samples he brought out for us. It was my boyfriends birthday and they brought out a little desert for him at the end. The food was great and our steak was at our liking. I would definitely come here again!
I enjoyed the food, but I wouldn’t say it was the most outstanding steakhouse I’ve been to. With that said, my daughter enjoyed her steak and the bread basket. The brussel sprouts were perfect. The waiter was very attentive.
The steaks were very small and my $51 Sea Bass was too small a portion for the price.
I Really enjoy Chicago Cut, the setting was great and the food was excellent and although our sever was delayed in the beginning there were still servers making sure we were taking care of until our server came and once he got to us he made things so smooth and the service was prompt! So overall I would say our experience was excellent and we’ll definitely be coming back to have dinner again soon‼️
love the lobstercargot and bbq ribs so much! the rib eye on the bone was recommended to us so we ordered medium rare. the steak turned out medium well, almost well. not the best steak in town but overall a good experience.
Everything was amazing- the service, the food, the ambiance. Highly recommend!
Delicious food with very good service and an amazing view. Very friendly staff they make you feel special. Only downside it’s that it’s a bit noisy but you get used to it. Highly recommend
Food and service were fantastic, portions were generous for this caliber or place but it was a little noisy for our liking
It was wonderful experience. We came out to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Food was amazing and service was excellent
Poor steak frites. Was overcooked and the shrimp salad lettuce was dry. Will try again sometime though.
This is the best place for a special occasion or to impress someone special. It was my first time having aged beef and it was sumptuous. The staff treated me with the utmost care, and the bathroom was immaculate.
Great steaks, amazing service.
This is one of our favorite places when my parents join me from the burbs. Always awesome. I take them to the brunch because it’s a bit quieter, food is awesome staff always rocks. A+++.
Great meal, drinks and wonderful staff...a must go!!!!
Excellent food, impeccable service, but it is very loud when its crowded. One of my favorites!
Tables much too close together, service very average. Food- nothing special -there are much better steak houses in Chicago. View of the river is nice. But will not be going back to this restaurant. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.
Fantastic food. Views of the city are top notch. Really nothing to complain about at all. We will be eating the left overs from the giant prime rib for three days.
Best food and service, consistently that we have been visiting for the last 7 years - the waitstaff here are consummate professionals!
Our sever Matt was very professional and personable, which greatly added to the experience. Food and dessert were delicious. Did feel a little rushed but overall great experience. Had a beautiful view of downtown too!
I’d like to come back and probably will. Really liked the vibe. $400 for a dinner for 2 is about $100 over what would be more reasonable. We did have it all though, drinks, appetizer, coffee and desert. All in all a good time.
I had the hash was delicious, but a little too much food for me to finish
We chose this place to eat, randomly at the last minute.Great atmosphere, scenery, food, and service!
Service was really good. Requested a nice table with a good view for our anniversary, we were seated at a great table, and our anniversary was recognized by our waiter and even was celebrated with a delicious desert as a surprise to us compliments of the restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding in both knowledge and service! You are definitely treated very well. Unfortunately the food was far below our expectations for a restaurant of this level.
This was a birthday dinner for my wife. She enjoyed the skirt steak which was very good. It was marinaded and cooked to her liking. She also ordered a truffle au gratin potato side that was large enough to share and also very good. I went for the dry aged porterhouse. Unfortunately this was not a good choice, I was told this was a 24oz cut that looked more like a 16oz. The strip side was tough but the filet was good. The entire experience felt rushed, from the time we were seated until the bill was paid seamed like 30 minutes.
Pro- Great location, sides are definitely enough for 2, and a good menu to choose from.
Con- Rushed, poorly cooked steak.
First time here all was amazing
This is the best steakhouse in Chicago, bar none, and I say that in a city that has a lot of great options. Service at The Cut is off the charts good, good cocktails, a solid wine list, and steaks to knock your socks off. A friend and I had the Cajun Ribeye and it’s perfect. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and the man of honor had never been to Chicago Cut; after foie Gras, a ribeye, and Key Lime Pie, he was a very happy man. Bring on the executioner, but not until you’ve had a steak from Chicago Cut.
Excellent food and kind and casual service with beautiful view of river.
It was a great dinner! Our guests were impressed for the view and the food was delicious. Thanks again
I had requested a window table but did not get it. It was also a bit too packed. I feel there should be less tables so close to each other. Steak was pretty good but I’ve tasted better at Gibson’s for the same price.
I've dined at Chicago Cut several times. The ambiance and views can be tough be to beat on a sunny day in the city. I visited for a late work lunch with a party of 6 on a Thursday. We were seated right away and ordered drinks and a few items to share. Everything started out great. The issues arose with the main courses, as two members of the parties ordered the fish special, only to find bones mixed throughout the fish. I ordered the petite filet, cooked medium-rare +, and was disappointed to find it burnt on one side and overcooked. I anticipate it being charred, but this clearly caught fire and the burnt taste overpowered the other flavors of the steak. Given the setting, I did not fell comfortable sending it back. The service was excellent as usual and the waiter even brought over a few complimentary desserts, which the entire group enjoyed. Overall, a good experience, but my previous visits to Chicago Cut have set the bar higher, especially with so many options in the city.
I love this place . The service was impeccable, the steaks divine , my martini - kicking , the bread- dangerously good , the asparagus - delicious. Our table placement was good , and people watching was enjoyable too.
Server was great!
One of the best breakfast places in the city. Never disappoints.
Service was impeccable. Fresh spin on a traditional steakhouse .
My husband and I went to Chicago Cut for our Anniversary. We were seated at a table by the window with a beautiful view. Our waiter was Matt and he was GREAT. We talked with him a lot and he suggested a few things on the menu that we loved. The filet was fantastic, cooked just right! My husband said it was one of the best he has had and we have been to many steak houses in the area. He also really enjoyed the Moscow mules. Matt brought a dessert to the table with a candle to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!
Steak was overcooked the crab macaroni and cheese literally tasted like tuna casserole 200 meal that was in all reality worth less than 20 i will never return to this establishment and will be sure to share my opinion about this place with anyone whom asks about places to eat in chicago
I usually go every year for Valentine’s Day. This year, I was at a table that was so close to the table next to me, I could smell the other couples food, and could barely sit with my date at my own table due to lack of space. Our table wobbled so much me and my date had to take turns holding the table so we could take turns cutting our steak to eat. The food is usually superb, but the steaks were both dry. The 300 dollar meal I paid for, I’d expect a leisurely evening where I was pampered. What I got was a dry steak, pushy service to improve table turnaround, seated so close to the other table next to us that I had to watch my elbows as to not hit my neighbor, and an overall poor experience when I was expecting a rather special evening. I won’t be going back for any particular special occasion on my own accord in the future.
