Marinated Skirt Steak* (8oz)
It was our 1 year anniversary and they were so nice and accommodating. Thank you for giving us a table by the lake and the key lime pie. The waiter was perfect
Overall nice. One complaint, my old fashioned cocktail was poorly made.
We had to wait 50 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Food was not good at all. It is super overrated and overpriced steakhouse with average food. I will never ever dine with them since Chicago offers too many better options. Stay away if you do not waste your money !!!
Dinner for my friend visiting out of town. The service was great
Marc was our waiter and he was spectacular. The service, food, and atmosphere was first class. I have visited Chicago’s best restaurants and I can assure you Chicago Cut is #1.
Nemo is a great server.
Wasn't to my expectations.
For my personal taste it was a waste of time and money
Great food, service, and view. However, I’ve had better meals for less than 400 for 2 people.
Visited Chicago Cut for my birthday. Really good food, nice Ambiance. Our server was Marc—he’s excellent and very attentive. Would recommend going. Oh, and the view is gorgeous!
Beautiful view, great food and exceptional Waiter.
Great service, food, and VIEW! We will definitely be back!
Came for the first time for our anniversary. Amazing food and drinks. Great view of the river and city. The service was exceptional.
Loved the view of the river. Excellent, efficient, prompt service.
Reservation for 2 at 5pm on a Sunday. Service was great and there was ample seating as most were choosing to sit outside. We were seated by the window with the view of the river. Dinner was great. She had an 8oz center cut fillet mignon. I enjoyed a 10oz Skirt steak. Both were paired with sauted spinach and mushrooms. The service was great and our host/waiter was amazing. Definitely give this place a try and order the Delmonico or bone in Ribeye. You won't be disappointed.
My first time at Chicago Cut. My Husband and I had a Great Anniversary Dinner. The Food was Outstanding, our Server Mark made us Feel very Special, he served us Key Lime Pie with a lit candle after our meal and congratulated us. I recommend Chicago Cut to anyone who wants to Feel appreciated as well have a Great Meal. I could not stop Smiling.
Met friends who were vacationing in the city for the weekend and we chose chicago cut because we wanted to have a special night out at a fabulous steak house. We picked the right spot!! Dinner was delicious.. the porterhouse, skirt steak, filet mignon, sea bass, truffled potatoes & brussle sprouts were all wonderful and cooked to perfection. I would say skip the crab legs- they were over cooked and rubbery. Cocktails & wine were also superb. The service was beyond anything I've experienced anywhere else. Our server Tyler was fantastic! No detail was overlooked. When appetizers were ordered for the table, he portioned them out for each of us. My husband and I split the porter house and they split the steaak for us ahead of time. Drinks were always flowing and we wanted for NOTHING!! The ambiance of course was fantastic and the evening as a whole was perfect. There is no doubt this place is pricey but our party of six left feeling it was worth every penny! Highly recommend!
We were celebrating our anniversary. I requested a riverfront table and pushed our reservation up an hour to increase our chances. We arrived at 5pm. It was not crowded. There were plenty of good seats available. We were initially seated at a table where others were on the outside of us. I asked for a table with a true river view. We were then taken to the other end where the view was not so great. I explained that we pushed up our res to get a good view and asked could we sit a few tables down. I was told those were “reserved”. Didn’t I make a reservation? Am I not counted in the “reserved” category? We settled for another table, but I was not happy with the exchange. I discussed this with Kirby, one of the managers. He apologized, but his demeanor was indifferent.
Our waiter, the wait staff, and possibly another manager that asked us did we have everything we needed, were all great. The drinks and food were delicious! We had corn chowder, Caesar salad, sea bass, steak and crab.
Chicago has so many great restaurants. You will spend your money, recommend, and frequent places where you feel welcomed and valued as a customer—when you arrive and when you leave. It’s about the customer experience, which differentiates a great restaurant from an outstanding one.
Very good birthday celebration-
Cut, as always exceeds expectations! Our hostess accommodated our special request for seating, our waiter, Nemo, was exceptional, and as always the food and experience are the best in Chicago. This is hands down the best restaurant in Chicago. Thank you for always making it a fantastic experience!
Our server was lovely. Manager had no interest in answering a question from us, and food was lukewarm. We used to love going to Chicago Cut, and went often pre-covid. Sad we had such a poor experience. I will give them another chance, however, it will be a while before I do so.
They went above and beyond to make our anniversary such a special night. Chris was an amazing server and the whole staff was great.
Excellent meal and service. All the staff is very kind and attentive. Great food as well.
Best fillet, sides were delicious and service impeccable.Don’t miss the mint ice cream pie for dessert!
Great service and beautiful setting conveniently located for Loop lunching. It is clearly focused on business lunches, bring your company credit card, it is pricey.
Ask for Brian, he will take great care of you.
Beautiful restaurant- top notch staff and menu!
Not overly impressed with our experience. The front door team weren’t very inviting and they first brought us to a dirty table then had us wait while they sorted it out. Server was very sweet. We were celebrating but didn’t get any acknowledgement, I always wonder what’s the point of the open table notes if you don’t use them. I work at a 5 star hotel and I don’t know if I would recommend this restaurant to my guests. Steak was good and temp on meat was acceptable however the sides were underwhelming and the add scallops and add lobster were so small it was pretty comical. Overall I’d just say head to Gibsons…
Great restaurant! Excellent food! Our waiter, Chris, made the whole evening wonderful & entertaining!
Food was as promised, good flavor and presentation
Staff was very attentive
Delicious dinner. Skirt steak and ribeye dinners for our anniversary
Wonderful patio , excellent wine list , consistent good food and service . Highly recommended!
We came here for our son's birthday dinner while visiting Chicago. This is a BUSY restaurant with river views. It's busy because it's good. Wonderful service from our server David, juicy, tasty steak, a variety of sauces for the meat so we each could have our favorite. Spendy, but well worth it for a special occasion. With a reservation we were seated promptly and treated well. I recommend it.
This was supposed to be a very special birthday celebration for my sister. They knew about this and wished her a happy birthday when we came in, and at the very least we expected good service. One thing after another went wrong, we were ignored when a table of eight with many bottles of wine being served was next to us, and then of course the enormous check was brought to us and no piece of cake for my sister. I’ve been here before and it’s always been great, and that’s why we came back. The manager tried to make it right but it was just too late. I will not be back.
A charming experience. Food and service top notch.
Birthday dinner. I have dined at CUT many times, but this time the food lacked luster.
The prime rib was terrible.
Great visit, excellent service and the food what is always consistent. My go to place downtown for clients and family events.
While our server was very sweet, the food was terrible. Desserts were edible. The manager was extremely rude.
The lunch and dinner are outstanding but the brunch is a hidden gem. Try the Eggs Benedict!
This was our second visit to the Cut, and better than the first. Everything was prepared perfectly except a "medium rare" burger which was the wrong side of medium... but was still juicy and great tasting. The standouts were the tuna tartare and the corn and crab chowder. The filet was served, as requested, black and blue, which some steakhouses still seem to screw up. I've never seen as big a serving of hash browns with cheddar and jalapeno, which has provided a couple nights of leftovers.
With a couple cocktails and two glasses of wine, the meal for two came to $320 including tax and tip. Pretty consistent with Chicago steakhouses.
Halibut was overcooked/dry, sea bass was similarly unfortunately prepared
Service was passive and indifferent, server seemed bothered by our request for menus.
