Service, food and ambiance were excellent!
Always a favorite of mine. Impeccable as always from every point of view. An absolute must for the ultimate Chicago dining experience.
Steaks and prime rib are the best we've ever had. Service was outstanding.
Outside seating is AWESOME! Spend the time to enjoy it.
We love Chicago Cut and have dined there in the past. The service was outstanding and the quality of the food and beverages was excellent. My only suggestion is to offer some options for entrees and side dishes that are on the "petite" side. For example, for my husband and I to share the truffled scalloped potatoes, we left half of it uneaten.
Lovely restaurant, a bit noisy. What I ordered was corn and crab chowder soup and cedar plank salmon w creamed spinach and asparagus. It was delicious. I didn’t like how noisy it was and also it got crowded w people and staff members walking around the whole time. Other than that it was a good time.
Wonderful the maître d’ Connor and our waiter were exceptional
Steak was great to eat and Jeff was a great server who had a a lot of insight in how the food was prepared and the dessert specials
Excellent experience! Very friendly, efficient & accommodating staff. Delicious food, vibrant atmosphere, cool view on river.
Can't beat the location. Outstanding service. I hope steak prices come down soon because they are getting insane.
Great food, excellent service, fabulous City views. This is a must-see restaurant when in Chicago
Everything was perfect. The best was the service. The attention to detail was amazing. We had a reservation at 830 and sat outside. This was the perfect time in June. Best meal we have ever had and every little thing was perfect. Fantabulous!
Our waiter was very funny and was always attentive. The longest I went before my empty water was filled up was probably only 45 seconds. Very good service
Thanks for everything David + crew!
First time dining at Chicago Cut to celebrate a graduation. The food was delicious, and it was great sitting on the patio enjoying the Riverwalk. The staff were also very accommodating. Enjoyed our experience there!
Great ambiance and very good food!
The lollipop lamb chops and bone-in ribeye...enough said!!! Great food, great service, great environment, great view
The steak was $80 and not that great. Kind of tastless.
Best steak hands down! Beautiful day as we sat along the river outside. Prompt service, EXCELLENT waiter, (Peter) very good food. Only negative if you can call it that, is while I expected high prices, charging $12.00 for a cup of onion soup without cheese or bread was in my view, a bit much!
The service was amazing. Great view of the Chicago River in the summer. The meat was second to none! Highly recommend.
I took my friend there to celebrate our 40th birthdays and our server Scott helped to make it a wonderful occasion.
A group of 4 came for my bachelor dinner. The drinks were good, the service was ok, definitely could sense our server was overwhelmed but did a good job overall. Loved the food, we ran into a little hiccup that I don’t feel is worth mentioning as I know it’s probably not common. I definitely recommend for a guys dinner, it was a great evening.
The experience was not relaxing. We were seated by a large group who were very loud. Server and assistant did not jell. Asst was more attentive. Both steak we ordered, filet mignon were not cooked to are request. Server and everyone around were running around in total chaos it seemed. One of the managers came over and said he yelled at someone in the back about the steak being cooked wrong. We won’t be back!
City reopened celebrating 16yr wedding anniversary. Great atmosphere, food & city view. Weather was perfect enjoyed dinning out with family! Finally starting to feel a little normalcy again.
This was my 2nd visit. The first visit 3 years ago was fantastic
This time the experience was disappointing
The Lobster Mac & Cheese, Truffled Scalloped potatoes, and Brussel Sprouts were good
but the Dove Sole had to be sent back to the kitchen to finish cooking and the bone in filet wasn't as tender as before. I would have appreciated if we were at least offered some sort of discount.
I loved it! Soooooo good. The steak was on point. Great place for a classy birthday..
Everyone was so nice & really took into account to know our dietary restrictions! Food came out at a great speed & our waiter was just super amazing!
Thank you guys for allowing us to have a great anniversary night!
Excelente todo la comida, servicio y todo lo otro 1A
We had the best server named Tony I believe. He was fabulous. The view and weather was great. Food and wine was amazing!
Great food! Great service and ambiance! We come here every time we are visiting Chicago.
Dana our server was amazing and the food was delicious as always
Last night's dinner was a mixed bag. We were greeted at the hostess desk by unmasked individuals which took us by surprise when all other waitstaff were in masks. Once seated, we were treated to great views of the Chicago river, the typical loudness of the restaurant and great interactions from the servers and management although sometimes TOO much service, i.e. always asking if you were finished made things a bit rushed at times.
As to the focus of the dinner, the meal itself, Chicago Cut does what it usually does prepares great steaks. Unfortunately, two of the three steaks were not prepared to order - one ordered medium was served medium rare and the other ordered medium rare+ was medium to medium well. Also, we ordered sauteed broccoli and got back steamed broccoli. For our trouble the broccoli was taken off the bill but it was a bit disappointing to have both of these items happen.
They tried making up for it with a free dessert for my wife, it was her birthday, which was nice. The evening culminated with the valet losing our keys and us waiting 15 minutes before they could find our car keys.
So, overall, an uneven night at a restaurant in which I have experienced much better in the past. I will give them another shot and hope this was an anomaly.
Wonderful experience! The staff is TOP notch!
Amazing view! Service was excellent
Everything was great from the food on up to the service. I will be returning
I expected a little more from Chicago Cut's team. We get to the hostess stand and right off the jump there is no welcome, then followed up with "You can wait 30 minutes for a table outside or you can sit inside".
This was a surprise for my boyfriend (his favorite restaurant, not so much anymore) and I was so shocked they didn't save me a table outside. I made this reservation well in advance and do understand that requests are not guaranteed.
We agreed to sit inside, then they take us to a table next to the window where on the other side there was a busser station full of dirty plates and food. The disrespect lol. I am a member of the luxury hospitality industry and how we were treated was a joke. I asked for another table to which they sat us somewhere else reluctantly, but this was a special occasion. I'm not one to leave bad reviews either but I am truly disappointed.
It seems like this place is just turning into another random restaurant. People in basketball shorts and athletic shoes. The host was dressed terribly. We felt overdressed.
The bathroom was disgusting. Very unsanitary, especially considering the year we've just had. Toilet rolls and paper towels on the floor everywhere.
We were asked 3 different times if we wanted sparking or still. We didn't even have napkins for our first course.
Chris, our server was actually really awesome. I feel bad he has a team that doesn't hold up their end. If anything the stars are for him. We won't be coming back.
Everything was wonderful—the food, the service, and the ambience. They don’t just do incredible steak—the king crab and vegetable risotto were also perfectly done. Our server, Cathleen (Kathleen?) was fantastic, some of the best service we have had anywhere. She was especially helpful with our drink orders and had the bartender make special drinks for us. We were lucky to be able to dine on the patio next to the river and enjoy a cool breeze on a warm day. Perfect meal in a perfect setting.
