Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Our party of six was asked to wait, and was seated late, 20 minutes after our reservation time, without apology. The Maitre D was rude as he literally squeezed us into a crowded noisy corner, with the waiters constantly bumping into us as they moved to other tables, and repeatedly asked two of our guests to move, so they can reach a station for water jugs glued to our table, literally shoving our bags and hats.
Then there were problems with ordering cocktails, switching between incomplete iPad and paper menus, unable to help us find an Old Fashioned or other whisky based cocktails. We later ordered a Santa Barbara Pinot Noir bottle, then were told by the Sommelier that that he did not have the bottle (which is fine). He suggested a bottle which he said was from a winery “next door”, but he lied and we were stuck drinking a Napa Pinot, which we did not want, was more expensive, while we clearly had sought one from Santa Barbara region for the pairing with our food. And he was rude and argumentative when we pointed his lie to him, and he never suggested a service recovery solution.
Food was OK but the poor service, ambiance, and the noise and shoving, literally poisoned the whole experience, making the exorbitant bill one of the worst values for a high end meal in our 40 years dining history, 20 of which at various Chicago Steak Houses. It is so sad for such a great establishment to have degraded to this level!
Food was great. It was my wife's milestone birthday and the wait staff et al, made it a memorable experience.
Excellent food and service but it is loud
But worth it
The food was excellent and the wine selection phenomenal.
My fiancé & I recently went to Chicago Cut Steakhouse to celebrate his birthday and our engagement, as it was suggested to us by a friend. Needless to say, we had an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, everything and everyone was beyond exceptional. Our waiter was outstanding. He made sure we felt comfortable, made great food suggestions and even prevented us from getting too much food. The food basically melted in our mouths. The steaks were juicy and tender.. perfectly cooked/seasoned. Yes, the prices are kind of high but definitely worth it. We will be back for sure!
A salad and meal with two sides, We were rushed out in 42 mins?
First time and won’t be the last time. Hector our waiter was excellent along with great food.
We were sat in the middle of the restaurant and the tables are extremely close to each other. Their seating is terrible! My husbands chair was kicked almost every time someone walked past him which was quite often. The restaurant is incredibly loud and lacks any element of intimacy. Our server moved us because he could see we were not happy. Service was fantastic and the food was ok. Steak was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. Not seasoned and just blah. Possibly they sous vide? Brussel sprouts, ok. For the money, the steak was lackluster. We would not go back but thank you to the waitstaff that did an excellent job.
Awesome experience. Great service from Matthew E start to finish, will definitely be back
We have eaten in many great steakhouses, this was simply outstanding, one of the very best, from start to finish everything was faultless. Steak cooked to perfection and staff outstanding, exceptionally professional.
Amazing steaks and quality wine list. Service was exceptional and quick
Amazing as always!
Our experience was fabulous.
Get the bacon, it is a must! Steaks are great, I would pass on getting drinks next time unless you want a $350 bill for two. I will be going back. Low key better than Gibson's 👌
Exceptional food and service-Nemo is the best waiter in Chicago!
The food was wonderful and the server was very pleasant and helpful. However, my husband and I were celebrating our return to Chicago and we were hoping for a more leisurely meal. Our entrees were served before we even had time to finish our salads. We had to set the salads aside and then eat our dinners all at once. I was unhappy about feeling rushed.
Also, I mentioned to our server when our entrees were served that we might need more Bernaise sauce, but I would let him know. Five minutes later another person, not our server, brought additional Bernaise sauce. I was stunned and let him know that we had not ordered that. Our waiter did come over later to assure us that we would not be charged for the additional sauce and we weren’t, but the incident was still unsettling.
Live this place. Had a tour and met the owners. Great happy, team. Best steaks in town imo.
Fabulous food and service. Expensive and noisy.
Food was awesome and our server went over the top to make our experience excellent.
We enjoyed our first visit to CCS. The food and service were beyond great, and the atmosphere was vibrant. We are Cubs fans, so the memorabilia on display was fun. As far as value, I was a bit disappointed. We dined at Tavern on the Green not long ago, and we had equally good service and food, but our meal in New York included dessert for the same price as this meal. All in all, it’s an impressive restaurant.
I took my niece to Chicago cut steakhouse for a nice Mother’s Day treat.
I've been a fan of Chicago Cut. This was my first time for a brunch and would not go back. Very disappointing experience. Brunch buffet was very underwhelming and basic. Not enough food choices (1 salad?), meat dishes were fair, buffet tucked back into windowless private dining room, and too many tables squeezed into the dining room. A very different experience than a typical lunch or dinner.
Best brunch in Chicago hands down! Fresh shellfish, great omelette, excellent beef carving station...a must for specials occasions!
We went on Mothers Day for brunch. It was over-priced with mediocre-at-best selections, awkwardly set up in a dark and dreary room that looked like it could have been a generic banquet hall in the suburbs.
Service was weak, highlighted by the server pouring our $125 bottle of champagne without offering a taste and then serving it lukewarm. The prime rib was also cold, while the shrimp cocktail and sushi was warm? UGH.
If it wasn't a special day we were trying to enjoy I would have called management over and told them on the spot. But our meal was already a disappointment I didn't want to add a confrontation to it. Just terrible.
Very busy Upscale Chicago restaurant. The food was very good and very pricey. Chilean sea bass was outstanding, the NY strip steak although good was on the small side. Asparagus soup was great; house salad was exactly that, just a salad. It was very busy and VERY loud however the staff was great and overall had a good experience.
The food was absolutely excellent, from appetizers and drinks to dessert. It was not cheap, but it was worth every penny. The view of the river was excellent as well. One of the best meals I have ever had. And the Eagan's Whiskey was good, too.
We’ve been to several high rated steakhouses in Chicago, this one had the best steak. A little too crowded and close for comfort, but otherwise amazing!
Best steak house in Chicago! Best experience my wife and I have ever had at a restaurant. Great place .
Top Steak Restaurant. The food is unique and you definetely should try the corn!
Very noisy place!
Prices: check the Menue - but quality is excellent!!!
Excellent service. Amazing view. Very happy that they remembered it was my girlfriend’s birthday and gave her comp dessert. I’m still looking to top the best bone in dry age rib eye I’ve ever had at Joes seafood. Not quite as good but very delicious. I don’t think there’s a better steak than Joe’s. Best I’ve ever had. Chicago’s Cut May have been the third or fourth best I’ve had. Top five for certain. Very happy with the service, ambiance and view. Made for a perfect evening. Highly recommend it to all. Too much steak. We should have split it with an app.
This was the best meal we had in Chicago. The food was incredible.
Wonderful service and delicious food! Was a little loud, but that is my only complaint.
The food, service & ambience was great. The view of the city line from the restaurant was breathtaking.
We went for breakfast. The steak and eggs is a great choice, and reasonably priced for a high quality steak. You can also get Ribeye, or other cuts instead of the on menu New York Strip and Eggs. Our steak did come a little over cooked, however it was still juicy and tasty (due to the high quality of meat). I also found a piece of metal in our hashbrowns (which is common in restaurants) most likely from the cleaning wool. Although that was disappointing the item was handled very well by the server. Overall good experience with a great location with a view. We would return, it is a good steakhouse overall and very nice people.
Brought my son for dinner to celebrate his 25th birthday. The food and service were ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!! Just want to add that our server, Matt, was friendly, informative, and very attentive...please let Matt know that he provided EXCELLENT service and hopefully when we come back again in the future, and we definitely will, that I will absolutely request him to be our server. Thank you for making my son's 25th birthday so AWESOME!!!
Excellent first time experience. Very pleasant & accommodative especially with our 2 young (6yrs) girls.
Great views of river from dining room. Wide menu not just steaks. Outdoor patio back in operation in June.
The service wasn’t that great, the server was pretty arrogant and kind of dismissing us for splitting a steak and not getting a $200 bottle of wine. Also the old fashioneds were terrible, they put a lot of small ice cubes that just diluted out the drink. A high end steak house like Chicago cut should have a great old fashioned with larger ice cubes (whiskey ice cubes). Overall not worth the price
Food and service were acceptable. Staff always nice. The tables a too close to each other and feels a bit packed and uncomfortable
