Chicago Cut Steakhouse
I had the hash was delicious, but a little too much food for me to finish
We chose this place to eat, randomly at the last minute.Great atmosphere, scenery, food, and service!
Service was really good. Requested a nice table with a good view for our anniversary, we were seated at a great table, and our anniversary was recognized by our waiter and even was celebrated with a delicious desert as a surprise to us compliments of the restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding in both knowledge and service! You are definitely treated very well. Unfortunately the food was far below our expectations for a restaurant of this level.
This was a birthday dinner for my wife. She enjoyed the skirt steak which was very good. It was marinaded and cooked to her liking. She also ordered a truffle au gratin potato side that was large enough to share and also very good. I went for the dry aged porterhouse. Unfortunately this was not a good choice, I was told this was a 24oz cut that looked more like a 16oz. The strip side was tough but the filet was good. The entire experience felt rushed, from the time we were seated until the bill was paid seamed like 30 minutes.
Pro- Great location, sides are definitely enough for 2, and a good menu to choose from.
Con- Rushed, poorly cooked steak.
First time here all was amazing
This is the best steakhouse in Chicago, bar none, and I say that in a city that has a lot of great options. Service at The Cut is off the charts good, good cocktails, a solid wine list, and steaks to knock your socks off. A friend and I had the Cajun Ribeye and it’s perfect. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and the man of honor had never been to Chicago Cut; after foie Gras, a ribeye, and Key Lime Pie, he was a very happy man. Bring on the executioner, but not until you’ve had a steak from Chicago Cut.
Excellent food and kind and casual service with beautiful view of river.
It was a great dinner! Our guests were impressed for the view and the food was delicious. Thanks again
I had requested a window table but did not get it. It was also a bit too packed. I feel there should be less tables so close to each other. Steak was pretty good but I’ve tasted better at Gibson’s for the same price.
I've dined at Chicago Cut several times. The ambiance and views can be tough be to beat on a sunny day in the city. I visited for a late work lunch with a party of 6 on a Thursday. We were seated right away and ordered drinks and a few items to share. Everything started out great. The issues arose with the main courses, as two members of the parties ordered the fish special, only to find bones mixed throughout the fish. I ordered the petite filet, cooked medium-rare +, and was disappointed to find it burnt on one side and overcooked. I anticipate it being charred, but this clearly caught fire and the burnt taste overpowered the other flavors of the steak. Given the setting, I did not fell comfortable sending it back. The service was excellent as usual and the waiter even brought over a few complimentary desserts, which the entire group enjoyed. Overall, a good experience, but my previous visits to Chicago Cut have set the bar higher, especially with so many options in the city.
I love this place . The service was impeccable, the steaks divine , my martini - kicking , the bread- dangerously good , the asparagus - delicious. Our table placement was good , and people watching was enjoyable too.
Server was great!
One of the best breakfast places in the city. Never disappoints.
Service was impeccable. Fresh spin on a traditional steakhouse .
My husband and I went to Chicago Cut for our Anniversary. We were seated at a table by the window with a beautiful view. Our waiter was Matt and he was GREAT. We talked with him a lot and he suggested a few things on the menu that we loved. The filet was fantastic, cooked just right! My husband said it was one of the best he has had and we have been to many steak houses in the area. He also really enjoyed the Moscow mules. Matt brought a dessert to the table with a candle to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!
Steak was overcooked the crab macaroni and cheese literally tasted like tuna casserole 200 meal that was in all reality worth less than 20 i will never return to this establishment and will be sure to share my opinion about this place with anyone whom asks about places to eat in chicago
I usually go every year for Valentine’s Day. This year, I was at a table that was so close to the table next to me, I could smell the other couples food, and could barely sit with my date at my own table due to lack of space. Our table wobbled so much me and my date had to take turns holding the table so we could take turns cutting our steak to eat. The food is usually superb, but the steaks were both dry. The 300 dollar meal I paid for, I’d expect a leisurely evening where I was pampered. What I got was a dry steak, pushy service to improve table turnaround, seated so close to the other table next to us that I had to watch my elbows as to not hit my neighbor, and an overall poor experience when I was expecting a rather special evening. I won’t be going back for any particular special occasion on my own accord in the future.
First time and excellent service! Food was phenomenal and we will definitely be back. It’s obviously pricey but you get what you pay for!!
Was wonderful! Service is above and beyond!!
Dinner, lunch or just drinks, Chicago Cut is a great option. Go for the Lobstergargot , stay for the view.
It was a wonderful experience dining at chicago cut. The service was great. We all ordered prime steak sandwich. It was the best streak sandwich I had.
Went for lunch on a Saturday before a 3pm play. Sat in bar area. Quiet, great service and able to get everything off the regular dinner menu not brunch menu. Never disappoints
Everything was perfect. Emidio has this establishment running smoothly. 10/10 recommend!! Can’t wait to be back.
My fiancée have been dining at Chicago Cut for a few years now and it’s always a pleasant experience. Thank you.
Dim lights, great food and atmosphere. Would definitely go back
The ribeye was amazing, cooked perfectly and the fat was melt in your mouth. Totally worth every bit of it.
Four of my co-workers and I had an after work outing and we selected Chicago Cut. We had a great time at the restaurant. Our waiter, Sheldon, was great and the food was phenomenal (especially the Lobsterscargot). My wife and I love Chicago Cut and it has never disappointed us.
We enjoyed it, as did our toddler. One of our favorite places for years!
It was a very Nice place. the service was Excellent, and the food was real tasty. I recommand this place a lot for Spcail occasion. it was my wife birthday, We Went with our kids. Everyone loved the place. the waiter was supper nice. his name was Mattew.
Filet was very tender but lacked seasoning. Overall a good dining experience.
My boyfriend and I went here for our birthday weekend dinner, as our birthdays are a day apart. Chicago Cut Steakhouse was AMAZING. It has a classic steakhouse vibe but with a very modern atmosphere. The service was outstanding as my water glass would be refilled before it ever reached half empty. The wine list is digitized because they offer hundreds of incredible wines. We had the lobstercargot and it was beyond delicious. The steamed crab legs were also tasty, but our entrees were heavenly. I got an 8oz filet and it was perfection. My boyfriend got the “holy grail” prime rib and it was as big as the plate. Our server, Robert, surprised us with two yummy desserts with a birthday candle and it really finished off a perfect dining experience. I HIGHLY recommend Chicago Cut Steakhouse and will 100% be returning.
The sea bass is so delicious. Great spot for an early Valentine's Day dinner.
My grandson's graduation from the Great Lakes Naval Boot Camp culminated in our trip into downtown Chicago for a most delightful lunch at Chicago Cut. From the moment we entered, your service team was outstanding! Our waiter was one of the very best I have ever experienced in a fine restaurant! He was quite attentive and helpful when asked questions about the menu items and was there to refill waters and keep the table free of bread crumbs, etc. The food was absolutely delicious and to cap off our celebration, the General Manager sent over a selections of complimentary desserts to honor our Sailor! Thank you Chicago Cut for helping to make our day fabulous before sending our boy to his Naval career training destination in another state. Sincerely, Carol Wieser........Frisco, Texas
We flew in from Atlanta to come here for our weeding anniversary. We ABSOLUTELY enjoyed the service from our waitress. Thee absolutely best steak I have ever had! The ambiance was great looking out over the backdrop of the Chicago River. Me and my wife HIGHLY recommend this place. From the appetizers to the main course we truly enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary with your staff. They made us feel at home!
Food was great, steak was cooked to perfection, Pittsburgh/Rare. Service was even better! Our waitress helped make the evening great.
The location and service were great! The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows giving you a great view of the river. Our server, Sheldon was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and thoughtful throughout our meal.
Our disappointment was based solely on the food - it was so under seasoned and bland. I ordered the tuna, and the only aspect of meal to have any flavor was the au poivre sauce. My significant other ordered the lobster and steak, and had a similar reaction: bland. For the price, I definitely will not be going back.
It's great to be able to bring our customers here and show off Chicago. They never disappoint. From the table, wine, and food everyone leaves with a memorable experience.
