Chicago Cut Steakhouse
food, location, and service was amazing. Best steakhouse we've eaten at in Chicago.
Steaks were not good. My friend’s was way underdone, when he sent it back it was returned as a black lump of coal steak. Service was good, but the food was not.
Anniversary dinner
As always great food, impeccable service. Has the tacos. Perfect business lunch.
Nice view , great steak , but tables for two people are way to small !
Service was excellent. Food was a mixed bag....the crab cakes were excellent, the filet was perfectly cooked and very good, the Delmonico steak was below par. For a boneless rib eye I expect flavor and tenderness and was a miss on both tonight. The mushrooms were also very good and the fries were excellent. The server was very courteous and took some of my wine off for consideration and that was extremely well done. In summary I don’t need to go back.
We celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful experience. Great service, great food and a wonderful view!
This was by far the best tasting steak I’ve had in a while. I will be back when the weather breaks.
From the moment you walk in. The staff was attentive. When we were seated our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our drinks were always full and the entire staff made sure we were satisfied. The food was absolutely delicious. Our table sampled various dishes and were satisfied with all of them.
My family and I went to Chicago Cut for an early Sunday dinner to celebrate the February birthdays and wedding anniversary. Our server Matt was very nice to our multigenerational group and handled our group with easy. We will definitely come back for the amazing food and service.
My experience there is always amazing food is wonderful and the view is breathtaking
The view of the river and the ” L” train was spectacular. A quintessential Chicago experience. The seating is a bit cramped but the view and food made up for that minor shortcoming.
Tables were uncomfortably close to other patrons. Doesn’t leave much room to pass between tables.
This place hands down was the best place I’ve ever had steak I recommend this place to any and everyone
I went there with my boyfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It was our first time there and the server Matt was great! We had the 8oz. and the Chicago cut bone-in which was delicious. For appetizers the truffle potatoes and asparagus were so good! We will definitely be coming back.
Our server, Lindsay, was perfect. The service and food was incredible. It was our first time there, and we'll definitely be back. When we return, we'll request Lindsay.
Excellent food and service. Our server did a great job explaining the dishes, did not rush us and even gave recommendations for the rest of our trip when he learned we were from out of town. Everyone we interacted with were friendly and helpful and did not give off the pretentiousness that you sometimes find at high end steakhouses.
Lobscargot and the bone in filet were favorites and we also enjoyed our sides of brussel sprouts and mac and cheese.
My only complaint was how close the two top tables were to each other, but aside from being close to other couples the table and seats were comfortable. I would definitely recommend Chicago Cut if you are looking for a steakhouse in the city. I’d love to go back in the summer and sit aside the river.
Matt our waiter was phenomenal, I greatly enjoyed his recommendation of the sea bass.
This restaurant was our favorite until Valentines Day. We were placed directly next to the waiter station and had waiters constantly placing orders while we were trying to have a nice dinner. My husband asked to be moved which we were but then got the bill and realized we were charged $30 more for the bottle of wine we ordered. I called the next day to discuss and have yet to be called by a manager. We will not be back. So disappointing. It’s very overpriced to begin with but to be ignored is unacceptable.
The food was good. The seating is tight. We were first seated right beside the kitchen and did ask to move. They were happy to accommodate us and moved us to another table. It was much better; however, we were so close to other tables on each side it was hard to block out heir conversations. I loved the dim lit room right on the river, but if you want privacy I’d go somewhere else.
The food was good. Service was excellent. Overall we enjoyed our evening here.
We went here for Valentines Day. Our server Tiffany was fantastic. Food was okay. Our steaks were pre-cooked and basically heated up and served to us. Same with the crab legs. We were rushed out which was also annoying. For the money we spent, it was certainly not worth it. Much better food at basically any other steakhouse. The only thing that saved it was the nice views of the river and our server. Other than that, I’d pass.
The menu options were very simple. I thought the food could’ve been better for the price. I got the chicken parmasiana and the serving was huge but the pasta didn’t have a lot of flavor.
Outstanding service. Especially matr’d.
Wine was excellent.
Very loud even at lunch.
Food was really the issue. Presentation was lacking on steak dish, tuna, steak Diana (mushrooms were thicker than steak). Other steak had no crust and was grey and unappetizing. Flavor was ok, not great. Brussels needed seasoning. Overall, it was overpriced.
Outstanding steak with very good service.
Great experience.
This was our first time at Chicago Cut Steakhouse and we left there very content. We loved the beautiful views, great service, and atmosphere. The food was spectacular. Please try the French green beans almondine. Delicious!
I feel like the place has lost a step or two. Food is good. Beautiful room, the acoustics very loud, not great for a dinner conversation. Good experience but Chicago is full of independent high end steak houses now
I would highly recommend this restaurant to Chicagoans and visitors. A table by the window is ideal...but no matter where you are, the service is exceptional and the food is amazing..!
As good as expected.
Best food, best service. Excellent overall dining experience.
Top notch all the way through
The waiter was probably the worst waiter I’ve ever had. Felt like we wore bothering him. The food was pretty good but the waiter honestly ruined the whole experience.
34th wedding anniversary with friends!!
Every staff member was amazing and so nice, food was superb!
Waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable.
I want to preface this review by saying I rarely rate restaurants for good or bad reasons, but this experience was one that caught me so off-guard that I feel compelled to share---I had just received a job offer and wanted to celebrate at a nice steakhouse. Chicago Cut was the name that constantly came up when asking for recommendations. We walked in and the entire restaurant was packed and LOUD. Definitely not an upscale vibe---more of a tourist vibe with insanely expensive prices. We asked for our steak rare and it came out cooked rare but lukewarm in temperature. We were literally 2 feet away from tables on all sides of us. Nothing about this experience screamed upscale except for the prices. Paid entirely too much for a lukewarm steak that was smothered in fat. Honestly think 40% of the steak was fat. From what I can tell this restaurant has majorly lost its way and is now just a tourist trap with $70 steaks.
Best steak I ever had
It was recommended by a friend and we loved it!
The best in the city!
Excellent meal - excellent staff
We always have an excellent meal here. Superb meal in a modern take of the classic steakhouse.
It was a wonderful evening! We are looking forward to coming back!
Unbelievable cramped. Way too many tables right on top of each other. I got up to use the restroom and while I was gone the seated a six-top behind us and two people were squeezed into the spot where I was previously sitting with their backs literally touching half of our table. I had to change seats.
When we arrived a waiter handed us an old, crusty iPad and told us we should use it to find our wines and cocktails. The iPad was slow and annoying, and it was on the level of TGI Fridays as far as service goes. If I’m going to drop $$ on a bottle of wine, a sommelier or even a paper list seems appropriate.
The food was just OK, and very hard to enjoy because there was a server’s behind in our faces most of the meal do to the cramped space.
