Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast". Chicago Cut's expansive surroundings feature a lively bar area framed by dramatic wine display cases; vibrant red velvet banquettes and spacious dining tables; and sweeping views of the Chicago River. A sprawling outdoor patio lining the riverside attracts diners throughout the day and well into the evening. Special touches abound, such as the restaurant's global wine list, which is presented to the guest via an interactive iPad program.

Rude server. Too loud to have a conversation.

Wonderful environment setting with view of Chicago River. A little tight in regards to seating.

The room was a little noisy and tables tight when first arrived. The crowd dimmed and the noise was tolerable. Steaks and seafood was good and fresh. The chicken was a little undone.

Steaks were good but we've had better at other Chicago restaurants. Price points are high and in typical steakhouse fashion, salad and sides are ala carte. Service was good, but could have been a bit more friendly and a little less rushed. There was no wine menu given for individual glasses and some offerings are high end. Great to try higher quality wines as long as you know the prices beforehand. While the restaurant website indicates that dress should be business casual, anything appeared to go. Go there for the view, the vibe and the cocktails.

The buttery steak was the highlight of the meal as you would expect. The octopus salad was good and the bread was great, but the brussel sprouts were terrible the night we were there For the price we have had better meals, but the location, atmosphere, and service were great.

I had a meeting with three women. The waiter neglected to refill coffee unless asked, wipe up his water spills unless asked, attend to the table. It’s not the first time this has happened. The location works for many of my meetings. But I am investigating other restaurants.

Service was great, halibut was exceptional. Celebrated my birthday and the waitress brought desserts out with candles, even though we were outside. Everything was perfect. I will be back before the next birthday!

We made reservations late night and last minute and their staff was welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The food was also delicious, I would highly recommend.

The second visit and the last. If you are looking for a crowded, loud, expensive and somewhat chaotic environment, this is the place. On the last two visits we had to send back sides that were cold or undercooked and that were delivered after the mains. While the restaurant comped these items, we have been underwhelmed given the high end nature of the Cut. On this last visit the host would absolutely not sit us at the empty table we had reserved until the 4th in our party was present. We stood around and waited when we could have been seated, ordering drinks and apps for those 10 minutes that our friend was delayed in traffic. An odd policy. Just not impressed and there are so many great places in Chicago.

From the minute we sat down @ our reserved table, we felt pressure to order and finish and clear away! Even though we ordered cocktails, there was no time for enjoyment before the waitstaff returned (multiple times) for a wine order and appetizer order. If the restaurant requires you to vacate a table within a specified time, they should indicate that on the opentable reservation system - we would have avoided the restaurant.

Unbelievably attentive service and high-quality food! MUST try the scalloped potatoes (shareable). I wish I was able to finish my steak, but I was busy entertaining customers and was the last person at the table eating and I left half my steak on the plate (SIN!)
The entrance is unassuming but once you get into the space, you forget you're in an office building. WORTH IT!

I brought my girlfriend from out of town for lunch. As always your signature dish, lobstercargo was outstanding. Unfortunately, our meat was not cooked to proper temperature. Lamb chops were ordered med rare and came out well done. Also a cheeseburger ordered med came well done. We sent the lamb back and it was corrected. However, I went ahead and ate the burger because it was still good even though it was well done. It just would have been so much better cooked med. The server comped desserts which was very nice and appreciated but I had bragged about this place for months prior. We were there mid afternoon and I'm guessing the subordinate chef was filling in for the usual one on the grill.

Dine in Chicago all the time. However the food was quite disappointing. The NY strip was rather tasteless and sea bass average. The macaroni side was very bland. We had high hopes but would not return for the $300 bill better food elsewhere.

Being from Houston, Texas I researched top steakhouses in chicago and came across Chicago cut steakhouse. We made reservations way in advance and were seated right away. The bread basket is awesome-esp. The pretzel bread. The wine list is HUGE! The wine menu is on an iPad with descriptions of each wine. We started with the lobster escargot appetizer- AMAZING. Must get! The steak was outstanding!!! They brought us out a chocolate cake for dessert! One of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. The atmosphere is beautiful.

I will not be going back to this restaurant. Our table felt claustrophobic in a room where you had to raise your voice in order for table mates to hear. I was told something ‘special’ would be created to celebrate our graduate and that didn’t happen either. Finally, the waiter was intent on us buying everything on the menu. When we were short one scallop that we ordered and told him don’t worry about it , he said he was bringing it anyway and it wasn’t gratis!!

Better experiences can be had anywhere in the city.

Attended lunch with client and the atmosphere was outstanding along wuth the staff. The crab soup was excellent too. My only issue was my steak was suppose to be medium rare but was cooked more like medium. Considering I was with client, I didn't want to say anything. It was good just for $40 for 6 oz Filet I wished it was more pink to red in the center.
