Chicago Cut Steakhouse
IT WAS FABULOUS!! We brought a group of employees in from our International offices. The food was the star of the show! The service was fantabulous! Thank you Chicago Cut!
The bread basket was apparently used by another customer before.
The steaks were over cooked for medium. It was somewhere between medium well and well done.
The place’s ambience was good but it was too noisy. Hard to hear my wife sitting right next to me.
The place is at a great location. Unfortunately the food was not good. The steak was bad, it was cooked poorly maybe too much oil or butter outside made it burned on the outside and temperature inside was not medium rare. Too bad especially for the price. The French onion soup was nothing like a French one, the layer or bread and cheese was so thick you needed a fork to eat it. Also not good. The wine was good, price was good in it. But not many steam choices late night. Great view of the waterfront.
We got there later after a show. We weren't too hungry and decided to get some burgers. The burger was very over cooked. It was BURNT! It was very loud in there also. The view was pretty and the service was pretty good. I guess I wasn't that impressed though. But, you will have that. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I went to dinner here for his birthday and it was amazing! Food, service, everything was great!
Very expensive. Steak was good but not anything I couldn't get for 20 dollars cheaper somewhere else. Had to pay a lot for a side of green beans. It was also very loud. I would not recommend for people looking to hear the people you are eating with.
The lamb lollipops were good. The scallops were good, but the scalloped potatoes with truffles were okay. I wouldn’t get those again. I’ve eaten at other fine dining places before and I liked the food better. The tables are squished together to seat a lot of people, and it was very loud in there during dinner on a Saturday night.
So many choices of steakhouses in Chicago. Visiting from Massachusetts for our 45th wedding anniversary we wanted to experience a classic Chicago steakhouse dinner. After much research we decided on Chicago Cut Steakhouse. We hit the jackpot. Great dry aged steaks and sides, great view along River Walk, and impeccable service. We’d definitely dine here again when we return to Chicago.
The pompous attitude of the staff was disappointing. We also felt rushed during dinner. We have dined at Chicago Cut many times. Our recent experience changed our opinion of this establishment. There are too many other restaurants in Chicago at which we can dine, have great service, friendly staff and fantastic food.
Always Awesome. I come here at least twice a year during the summer and it never disappoints...
Easily one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The staff was beyond attentive, the ambiance was perfect, and the food was amazing
Service was great. I was expecting a way better steak from this establishment. Nothing special about the cut of steak. I can get better elsewhere.
First time going to Chicago Cut. Two large insects landed on our table. 1 on my plate. There was a hair in the mashed potatoes. My steak along with others in party we’re cooked well done when informed to have them cooked medium. I was informed we would be seated by the window when reserving a table for 11, we were not. Won’t be going back for a while. Not what I was expecting at all. Great ambience though.
Yet again Chicago Cut did not disappoint! Wonderful evening with wonderful service—thank you, Nemorio!
Absolutely unreal. Will be back every time I’m in Chicago.
This was our third time there, and I love the restaurant, and the outside seating area. The negative to this trip was I had requested a special table, called again earlier during the day to see if the table would be available, they said they would try to give it to me. When I arrived they told me I couldn’t sit there because they were saving it for the investors. What do I care about the investors, I’m Spending money. As the restaurant get busier and busier, Rodney our waiter, forgot about our table. We had ordered the second bottle of wine, never got it, nobody came around to make sure food was correct, and when we did get our bill we were charged for the second bottle of wine. I have another reservation coming up the end of October, I’m hoping the service is better than it was this time.
Wonderful! Ate outside on the patio. The view couldn’t be beat!!
Wonderful staff, particularly Patsy. Great food and great view.
Took some business associates to dinner,
Great food ,great views, and great service
Great everything ❤️❤️❤️
Sat outside. Very nice.
My husbands bday- we’ve been going for the past 3 years on this exact date to celebrate his bday- every time but today was exceptional. Tonight was different- my meat was over cooked- my husbands wine glass was empty- our servers assistant would bring out the food and then walk away- we would stare at our food in hopes for a taste but minutes later, we were able to take a bite. We were sat outside by the water as we’ve always requested that weeks prior to this date, but somehow we have to wait extra time to get a seat outside regardless of booking the reservations weeks/month prior to it. We will definitely go back next year for his bday but in hopes that they step it up back again.
The vegetarian risotto was delicious. NY strip steak my husband melted in your mouth. Our server was beyond great. Everything was outstand!
We had great service. Beautiful dining room with views of the river. Food and prices are what one would expect from a steakhouse.
My first experience was pleasurable. Everything was great to also include our server Gene. The only two complaints with my dining experience was my request to be sat with a water view, which was never acknowledged by the hostess staff. I ordered the salmon which was pretty bland, but the rest of my party ordered steak in which they all raved about. Overall a great experience!
Service was spot on, food was very good, but quite loud. Was recommended by friend, enjoyed it enough would go back.
Fantastic food. Good for all occasions; a bit noisy though, so having conversations can be difficult.
Service and food as good as always. Door staff was sadly all over the place. The older man was very rude and short with guest. (We are paying to dine, be kind) our reservation was for 6:30 and we wanted outside so we showed up early to check in. At 6:30 they said we were next and at 6:50 I got an email saying I’ve been sat. When I went up to check, he was annoyed and flustered. We were sat, it ended up being fine but tell your host they start a table off with a great experience.
Sat me at the worst table possible, by the service station. No tablecloth but dropped close to 3 bills. Treated like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to dine there. Not coming back.
Superlative in every way, with a postcard-perfect view of Chicago river and skyline. Since it was a warm evening, it was fun to watch all the boats, kayaks and walkers along the Chicago River. Great place to go for a celebration or just a really special dining event.
Amazing per usual! From the moment you walk in the hostess are welcoming and attentive to detail. When we arrived for my fiance's birthday they had my reservation note up and made our dining experience great from the start. The food is by far my favorite in Chicago and I have always appreciated their waitstaff who are extremely welcoming and professional. Chicago Cut is by far my favorite restaurant in Chicago- always excited to go back for me!
WE absolutely loved the seating and ambiance. Sitting outside was fabulous, the weather was perfect and my spouse and I had a lovely time talking without being interrupted with loud talking all around. The disappointing element was the meal. We thought the steaks would be the highlight and quite opposite, the steaks must have been pre-cooked and warmed up to serve. The steaks were dry and difficult to cut, but then again that could have been because my knife was so dull; it was like sawing through a log. There was no juice coming with the steak and because the plates were not heated everything cooled very quickly. The vegetables were not much better. The mash potatoes tasted as if they came out of a box, and the broccoli was nothing special, simply microwaved cooked with again no sauce. The waitress was of little help with suggestions and tried to rush our meal in the beginning and then finally gave up and didn't come back to check on us, so we had to get one of the busboys to find her in order to pay the check. Not sure I would ever go back.
The quality of food will not disappoint. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. The beignets, lobstercargot appetizer and the seafood salad were amazing. The view is superb! The entire staff was helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We went here on a date night and the first night we were away from our children and requested to sit outside. Upon arrival we were told it would be an hour in a half wait to sit outside. This was our whole purpose of coming to this restaurant. We couldn’t wait because we had a movie to catch so I was very disappointed. The lobster appetizer was very good, lollipop lamb chops were good.. server was excellent and very attentive.
Appeitizer- waiter recommended the lobster tails. They were over cooked and rubbery.
My steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was well done. I had to add salt n pepper due to the lack of seasoning. The meat was very tough and after 3 bites, I did not touch the $70 piece of meat. I did show the waiter the over cooked meat and he brought us a free piece of cake.
Absolutely best place in city for steak and what a great atmosphere and wait staff.
Waiter was efficient and knew his stuff, great views, and just overall a perfect dinner!
Great meal, great service, great night. Chicago Cut is the best!
Disappointed with the food. Usually was better but this lunch was subpar.
Great overall experience. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere in the outside dining area was perfect. The Lobsterscargo appetizer was delicious! 3 of the 4 people in our party ordered the Branzino off the daily special. They all agreed it was absolutely the best Branzino they've ever had! I ordered the Filet and 2 Lobster Tails. The filet was excellent, but the tails seemed to be a little overcooked... We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary, and the complimentary desserts were fantastic. Overall the meal and service was a 9.5!
