Consistent! Always good and excellent service! We have been here numerous occasions over the years and we can rely on excellent food and great atmosphere.
We absolutely loved Chicago Chop House! Can not wait to come back!
The food was very good, though nothing extraordinary for a steak house. My timing was off with visiting on St. Patrick's Day, and I regretted to see the downstairs area was converted into an Irish pub instead of the classy establishment you would expect. Upstairs was ok, but a little loud. This is a relatively expensive, but not an upscale steak restaurant. Maybe I was naive to think it would be. The wine service was subpar, with a smudged glass first and then pouring the last of the wine bottle in my glass causing a bunch of dregs to collect on the bottom of my glass altering the taste of an otherwise fine Italian (Montalcino) wine. This is a rookie mistake. It is wine, not a soda.
Extremely overpriced! Was not impressed with food. Worse Bloody Mary I’ve ever had.
I ate here in March, 2018 when my first choice was booked up. The meal was excellent, the service attentive and the wines quite good. I ordered the Wagu rib eye and it was delicious. One nit I would pick is that because the meat has such a high fat content, the broiler left quite a bit of charcoal on the outside. If they are going to sell this type of meat, it needs a broiler that is either lower temperature, shorter time, or some other method to inhibit the charcoaling (which is unhealthy as well as not tasty).
Austin is a wonderful waiter.
Best Steakhouse ever!!!
Meat quality not up to standards I recall from 20 years ago. If you’re charging $70 for 18oz ribeye the taste, texture, etc has got to be OMG good. Not even close
I was excited to try the famous Chicago Chop House with a friend, but unfortunately was disappointed with the steak. Dry aged 18oz NY Strip was flavorful, but over cooked. Ordered medium-rare but was presented a medium steak. I’ve had plenty of better steaks. Crab cake appetizer was fairly standard, and the most memorable food of the night was the potato pancakes.
Service was excellent, however. From the hostess to the bartender to the waiters, fantastic service and friendliness and not at all pretentious. Must repeat, excellent service.
Reservation worked beautifully.....Chop House has some of the best steaks and sides to offer in Chicago. Service was great as well!
Have been coming here for years and some things have changed, but he quality and the service has been exceptional every time!! Will continue to come here as much as we can!!
The experience was incredible. The service was outstanding the wine selection was vast and the food was amazing. We came to celebrate a good friends birthday and could not have asked for a nicer experience.
It was my birthday and first date with a special lady - it went great and the dinner was fantastic.
Megan was absolutely astounding and the meal itself was perfect.
Excellent. One of the best steaks I have had in awhile.
Our wait staff was very attentive, social and knowledgeable. Walking into a live piano was a touch of elegance.
Fantastic dry aged steak!
Simply one of the BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE ever had
The restaurant wasn’t very busy and we got excellent service. We even got to spend some time with general manager. It was my birthday, so they brought a small piece of cake and some sparkling white wine. A week earlier they started a limo service, so they offered that to take us back to the hotel.
The portions were large and very tasty.
Great food; great service.
Our food was just fine. Our wait staff was wonderful and very professional yet fun - especially for our children.
However, the clientele changes as the night progresses. People not dressed appropriately for my children to witness. Also, the valet service they use was awful. We waited >20 mins for our car and was in fear it would never be found!! They need to hire a new valet company. There are many other steak houses in town with better food and classier atmosphere.
The best steaks and prime rib in Chicago! We've tried many steakhouses and we always end up coming back to the Chop House!
have been her before the last time 2 years ago. Service left a lot to be desired, very slow and it wasn't that busy on a Friday night. Steaks were very disappointing, no flavor despite being dry aged. Will not be back
The Chicago Chop House is impressive in terms of the food as well as the service. Front of the house is friendly, knowledgeable, patient, understand and promote a team-centered customer experience, with pride.
Oh yes, 55-day dry aged Porterhouse: Delectable and just as it should be. The wet-aged NY Strip was also perfect. Go for the Brussels Sprouts side!
Amazing food and service! My favorite steakhouse hands down!!
The Chop House served a wonderful meal with a fantastic wait staff for my 80 th birthday celebration with six guests. We forgot to bring our birthday cake and the kitchen staff whipped up a complimentary, wonderful dessert assortment with a birthday wishes decoration. We also got a complimentary ride home in the “Chop House Chariot” limo. Over the years we have had a few family special occasion celebrations at the Chop House and they have all been great. We are already talking about my wife’s Chop House 80 th birthday party three years from now.
One of the classic steakhouses in the US. Smaller than the big chain names, more character, excellent food. Have visited multiple times over the years, always pleased.
Cool place! Loved our experience there. Excellent service. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate our group.
I looked at Lauren’s eyes I think he fell in love
The steaks were excellent and so was the service.
Great steaks...Great service. Of course what to be expected if you are going to drop $100+ for a meal. Typical steakhouse environment....tables close together....and some noise. But the great steak makes one not notice this. The Wagyu beef is awesome. Even though more expensive, it is worth every cent and good value if you want the best.
Fabulous food, wait staff, servers, and bar staff. Great experience!
The food was great, the wine list was impressive and our server was exceptional. Both ate seafood. A very old and dated atmosphere, but I would say it has its own personality.
Great restaurant with great service look forward to going again.
Great food and excellent service!
Piano player, very romantic!
A MUST WHEN VISTING CHICAGO WE WENT FOR DINNER ON A SATURDAY NIGHT WAS ABLE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS AND GET IN RIGHT AWAY GOOD CHOICE WE LOVED THE FOOD. EVEN MY SONS WHO ARE LITTLE ENJOYED THEIR MEAL.
We try to eat here every time we’re in Chicago. Food and service are both top notch! We’ve learned to split a salad or appetizer, limit our bread intake, and share a side (the portions are very large and our server suggested we try this method) and that allows to to fully enjoy what we go there for - the unbelievably delicious filet mignon! The wine list is extensive, there’s definitely something for everyone. We tried the crème brûlée cheesecake for dessert - unbelievably delicious! Be prepared to pay a bit more than your average dinner, but it’s so worth the splurge!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Saw an add for this place in the Southwest Airlines magazine. The restaurant was outstanding. Food was great. Our waitress was Kat, she made the night fun with her wit and humor, like she was an old friend. Our steaks where cooked to perfection. I highly recommend dinner here. Very fun place, and great steaks.
Would definitely go again. Not cheap, but a perfect place for a business dinner.
One of Chicago's premier steakhouses. Always great.
