Our waitress was phenomenal ! She was well educated on the menu and genuinely looked happy to work there!
We had a birthday celebration for 8 people and Chicago chop house was the perfect choice! They accommodated all of our requests to specialize the dinner for our party, magician- yes!, singer- yes!, cakes-yes! The staff was kind and helpful and the food was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend the wagyu beef, so buttery sooo good!
All of the salads were also very tasty along with the lamb lollipops! We initially were going to choose another steak house with a more modern upscale esthetic but are all so glad we came to the Chop house. The place itself was warm and welcoming filled with interesting history and character! You won’t be disappointed . The one small criticism I would have would be they could have been better about clearing the table after each course and prepping for the next course, but all the other good outweighs this slight oversight
Way overpriced for the value and quality of the food

Steaks were outstanding and the wait staff was polite and on top of their game. The place is pricey but well worth the money.
Service and food was outstanding!
Recently dined here for New Years Day, our annual tradition as a family. We decided to try something different and did not disappoint at all! The food, ambiance but especially service was impeccable. Our waitress, Noza, was outstanding! She was very educated about everything on the menu. Most importantly she was very patient with all 10 of us. We will definitely be dining here for all of our future occasions.
Dined here for New Year’s Eve and it was absolutely excellent! The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing!
Arrive for an early dinner on NYE and everything was great! Steaks aren't cheap but it's one of the best I've had in Chicago!! 3 sides all great. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.
My fiancé and I had dinner here for NYE. This was our second visit and it was just as memorable for all the right reasons the second time around. We had the lobster bisque soup, Cesar salad and steak - all of which was good.
One of the best things about this place (besides the food) is that they don’t cram as many people in as they can. We had a nice table by the window with plenty of elbow room so we didn’t feel like we were on top of the people next to us.
My only “complaint” is that my Manhattan was not in a proper glass and had ice. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Manhattan that contained ice. If you are a bourbon drinker and prefer your drink to be “neat” this is not the place to assume it comes that way....even if the menu says “perfect” in the description.
Had a great time. Service was great. Nice wine list.
Only issue I had with the restaurant was with the outdated bathrooms. Need to match with restaurant ambiance.

Tony was our waiter and he was very attentive. The supporting staff were very good as well. The sides were delicious, my porterhouse was very good, my family loved their meals. What won it for me was as we were leaving, we noticed it began to rain hard...Ernest introduced himself and offered to give us a ride back to our hotel in the Chophouse chariot! The hotel has a car service to help in a pinch...Complimentary! Huge bonus.
Love the Chicago Chop House! It's pricey, but worth the splurge for those dry-aged tomahawk rib eyes.
Christmas outing with family
We arrived for our 8pm reservation. We were greeted at 8:20
We ordered a med steak which came out well done at 9:30. They sent it back as we said we wanted to split it. It was overcooked and tough. At this point, we waved the flag as we wanted to get out of there. As we were there 3 other tables had issues, and the manager had to apologize for the kitchen.
Our bill was $200 with tip, and could have gotten a better steak and service at Outback. Disappointing as we chose this over others we knew were solid!
Food was very good but the staff seemed confused, inattentive and many food plates going back.
Not sure, I think I had a new/young waiter and felt we were left alone too long, even if on Xmas Day. After 30 minutes waiting for entrees, I asked waiter where were our entrees. He said the kitchen was backed up, but no one updated us, and there were empty tables around us, plus it was early in the evening. Too many places out there with better service. Service can almost beat anything else. I had not been here in many years and was disappointed. No apologies for the delays, nothing.
Food was very good though.

Oysters Rockefeller was a little runny, drinks were a little overpriced, but overall great dinner and service.

While the starters were very good the steaks were only OK considering how much they cost. I was very disappointed with the beer list and I do not drink wine. My wife thought that the cocktail list was lacking also. The au gratin potatoes were average, at best. Although the experience was not bad, it was not great either, so I will not be going back

Great experience as always. We come here as a family every December to celebrate the holidays. The food and staff never disappoint. It doesn’t matter what server we get, they are always so down to earth and incredible. The food is great but the staff keeps us coming back.
Love the atmosphere but both our steak and pork chop were over done.
The Chicago Chop House is simply excellent at what they do. The porterhouse I had was superb. The truffle mac & cheese was delectable and the in house made cherry pie was incredible, as was the homemade ice cream that came with it! Adrian, our server, was attentive and recommended a great wine. We had a few pre-dinner cocktails and the drinks were delicious. It was an overall excellent experience.
My girlfriend and I were in Chicago for our anniversary and came across this restaurant on w. The appetizers, steaks and desserts were delicious. The a la carte sides were ok at best. Truffle mach and cheese with bacon was very bland and had hardly no truffle in it. The cauliflower side was decent. The wine was delicious. The real issue I had was the prices. Each glass of wine from a 75$ bottle of Duckhorn ran me 24$ a glass. Other than that my experience was good and I’d recommend this place if you have money to spend.
The piano AND the historical photos add to the ambiance. Service and manager Jimmy L ensured that we made it to our theatre performance on time. Outstanding experience.
If you want to spend an insane amount of money on a steak go here (think almost $100 for a t-bone including tax). The food was good but way too expensive. Absolutely not worth the premium over some of the other steakhouses in Chicago.
The vegetable sides are a bit salty

The Chop House has been a mainstay in Chicago for many years and we were more than pleased the quality has remained high. Twenty years between visits and if anything, the Chop House has improved! We introduced our always-hungry teenage son to the finest Chicago steak and he is sold! We are happy to report that some things continue to age well! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a memorable evening and dinner!
Food was delicious. Their wine menu was sub par with affordable options. Typically my husband and I get two bottles throughout a long dinner so look for a $50-60 range for a Cabernet. However, their least costly US can was $99. The waiters excuse is that napa wines are expensive- we just went there and there are plenty of other options as well as other locations. Service was HORRIBLE from both the bar for a drink and during dinner. Of all the chicago steakhouses and restaurants in general we’ve been to this was by far the worst service. Since food is good at all of the higher end places I don’t believe we’d ever be back due to service alone.
Had a fabulous time there, our waiter Todd, and the staff were very professional, and went well above what is expected from a top notch restaurant.
