Did Nite like eating a hot steak out in the cold. The service was fantastic and the steak was amazing. Nothing to do with the restaurant itself other than eating outside.
Beautiful dining and awesome food, with great prices
Nick was a great server and attentive to our needs. Had an espresso martini that was delicious and I would definitely recommend the truffle Mac and cheese!
The meal we enjoyed was just about the best steakhouse meal that we have ever consumed! We are still talking about how much we enjoyed the meal! The steak was cooked perfectly!
Treated my niece to a late lunch. Everything was perfect. Their patio is adorable. Service was great!
Great service. Great patio. The food was just not great.
My husband and I went here to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. We came here 2 years ago to celebrate getting married and it was nice then, and despite the pandemic and having to dine outside, it was wonderful this time too. The only three issues that I had, were One they called me at 11:15 p.m. the day before to ensure that I was still coming for my reservation, why would you call somebody that late at night to check on a reservation should have called me much earlier. Two, my husband ordered the house salad which is a baby wedge and other fixings, but they ended up giving him the chopped salad which he did enjoy and eat because he didn't realize until halfway through it that they'd given him the wrong salad when he was looking for the avocado and hard boiled egg that was supposed to be in the salad and found none. And third I ordered the Espresso martini, which is made with vodka, Godiva chocolate liqueur, Bailey's Irish cream, and espresso, or it could be Bailey's Irish cream espresso flavor liqueur. But when they brought it out, it was nothing but vodka and some cream blended up it was all vodka, that's all you could taste and for $16 I'd like to have all my liqueurs. I did drink it anyway because it was at the end of our time, due to the pandemic you are only allowed so much time there and you have to go after that so those are my only complaints. The rack of lamb delicious, the sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus and the roast beet and arugula salad I had delicious, my husband had the grande fillet which he also thought was delicious. Our server Jesus V was very nice and presented us with a celebration cake. Also yummy. It was a pricy night out, but for special occasions such as anniversaries it's always a good place to go enjoy.
Great restaurant with ample and cozy outdoor seating. The steaks are top notch, we will definitely return very soon.
Food was very good. Drinks were ok too. The service took a very very long time. But the patio was warm and cozy
Outstanding service and very good food quality. Will return for sure.
We had a wonderful experience at the Chicago Chop House. The staff was amazing and the patio was beautiful. You could hardly tell you were outside. The way the patio is set up is very private and they have plenty of heated lamps to keep warm. The food was great and the servers were all so attentive.
Very yummy ! Loved our waitress ! Highly recommend.
Wine took too long. And I got my soup after I finished my dinner. Horrible.
was a great experience. Bartender was super nice and everyone we encountered was great. We sat at the bar and the piano player was fantastic.
Prime rib on saturday was really good and would recommend along with the lobster escargot. Not inexpensive though and charging $5 for chop house butter feels tacky.
Omg our food was Again Amazing our server Jennel was very attentive to us she was on point she has amazing character but the food was very presentable and we will definitely be back for more
Excellent service the food was delicious our server Nick was very attentive and continually checking to see if he could be of any assistance.
Great food and service! We will be back
The service and food is amazing well worth the money spent.
My experience was very wonderful seeing it was my first time there . My husband actually worked here for security and he talked so highly of the place so I decided to treat him there for Sweetest Day
Definitely will go back. The waiter was great. The food was even better.
First time eating at the Chop House. Enjoyed it very much. Wonderful meal. Met expectations. .
Was taking my gf out for her birthday dinner. Made a reservation for 9pm, had to wait 30 mins to get seated (on the third floor) people around us were sending their plates back because their steaks weren’t cooked properly which was bizarre. We ordered our appetizer which was delivered with our entree, but they forgot about our drinks that we ordered first. I would’ve liked to receive better service for the price that I paid for our meal. Overall the food was good but the service and vibe was terrible. Won’t be coming back
The pricing is outrageous for the low level of service and subpar taste of the food. I had to ask multiple times to get my drinks filled, it took 2 hours to get our food, and while the food wasn’t terrible, it definitely doesn’t taste as priced. I have had much better steaks for cheaper. We also forgot a photograph on the table in which they threw away rather than holding on to it....seeing that we called the very next day for it and they did not have it. I’m really confused how the ratings are so high and the fact that I rarely write reviews, good or bad, unless wowed or extremely upset....which again, is rare for either.
Service was very very slow, but food was great and ambience outside was wonderful!
The waiter did not come to our table until 25 minutes after we arrived. Appetizers came with the meals
Chicago Chop House is Always Amazing and never disappoints me and my family!!!!
With the number of great steakhouses in Chicago, I would not go back to the Chop House. The outdoor patio was very nice, but the food and service were average. Nothing bad, just average.
Ribeye steak was delicious however the outcome of my valet was the disappointment
First time here... Not disappointed. Service from start to finish was excellent. Even when we had to send back steak because it wasn't made to order. Came back even better.
We had an amazing meal. I would highly recommend dinner at the Chicago Chop House. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our experience memorable.
It was my birthday so it was an pleasant experience. Just make sure to look at the prices
Best wagyu burger I've ever had and it was only $10
I hated my experience. I think the best part about my experience was how easy it was to get valet parking . I was walked upstairs to a table that was in the middle of the floor but i asked for a booth which were downstairs . While sitting waiting on my waiter i noticed thus small waiter running with food like literally running . Unfortunately the running never stopped . I asked a manager to help accommodate that the floor was shaking due to the waiters running through the room constantly. The most uncomfortable setting. If i wanted to be around such a atmosphere i would have stayed home with the 6 year old. I ordered lobster macaroni and cheese and of course they brought the entire lobster tail while just sitting on stop. Steaks not seasoned at all. $350 downt the drain. I wish i could call my bank on this one
Great food and ambiance. It was the perfect time for my wife’s birthday
For my wife’s birthday we decided to check out Chicago Chop House. We haven’t gone out much due to COVID. The food lived up to its reputation. Our only issue was our server was less than safe. She always had her mask pulled down when she came to the table. She talked over our food. My wife and I took a gamble and still ate our food, as we didn’t want to get our server in trouble. Her lack concern for her clients was transparent through her pleasant demeanor. Also, none of the staff corrected her. As much as we wanted to say something, we (the client) shouldn’t be out in that position. If we can’t even go to one of Chicago’s more expensive restaurants and feel safe, what’s the motivation to dine out?
The waiter was very friendly but the delivery was not the best. Our friend waited almost an hour for her drink and then 30 minutes for her second. We ordered a side that never got delivered.
In town for a few days and we wanted to go somewhere special and chop house was IT
Let's just say if you don't look like you have money your treatment here is just okay. Here's the thing I have been here years ago. And the serves were something to remember in a good way. Let's talk manger she was present but spent most of her time mingling with the staff. Im use to the manger coming over asking how's your visit thanking you dining. None of this happen instead I was met with uneven looks which made me feel a certain way. Let's talk my server when I was first seated it was as if they had to do rock paper scissors to see who'd take me. When she did approach i didn't feel wanted I often times found her standing in the back with the manger and other server talking when she noticed me looking on then she got on her job as to asking how I was mind you the time of my visit was just as they open they were not crowded at all so the lack of service was annoying. Now here's were I notice a difference in treatment two more diners arrived which just do happen to be regulars and let's just say they were giving the beauty and the beast welcome a.k.a be are guest. Im not sure if serve was not on point due to gratuity being included or what. But I know fine dinning and this lack of care from management was reflected in my server the bus men and help were great better then my server the food was great . And if I might add I was dining along so no one can say hey she had other guest so we thought we'd leave her be I was along just so I could take it all in and i was so very disappointed in this age old gem. In a time were covid is deciding rather your business will with stand such a great depressing kindness and attention goses along way and you never know who your serving or what there going through in house dining is so personal compared to carry out and servers and resturants need to keep this in mind I love the Chicago food scene and staples such as this restaurant. But I lefted and did not want to return as a in house diner and the food here is very very good.
