Chiara Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Great evening from start to finish. Service was expert and attentive throughout the evening. Food highlights were the scallop entree and lamb and the froie gras and duck confit appetizer were all outstanding; great values for the quality and price. Wine list was quite good, especially in the reds with lots of choices from affordable to extravagant. This clearly a nice neighborhood gem where you can go casual or dressy to suit your taste and all will be happy.
We had a great meal at Chiara Bistro. The food was great! The menu was small but everything looked great and it was hard to choose what to have. Several of the main dishes were available as appetizers so it was nice to be able to try multiple dishes. We had the riccota gnocchi, the warmed brie, scallops with creamed corn and crab, and the Moroccan lamb tagine. We had no complaints about the food whatsoever and we'll definitely be back.
Attentive maitre d but also rushed. To drinks. To order. Don't you hate it when service personnel interrupt a conversation to do their thing. Isn't the point to make the dining relaxed not rushed? But on the short wine list we found a vermentino de Sardinia. What a treat.
We enjoyed our dinner at Chiara Bistro. We appreciated that the tables are not too close together so we really felt like we weren't on top of anyone else. Our waiter was especially attentive and pleasant. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, an appetizer of basil-ricotta gnocchi with braised veal; blackberry BBQ duck breast with sweet potato gratin; pan-seared sea scallops with lump crabmeat creamed corn, all nicely presented. For dessert we had a plate of cookies and truffles. This was our third visit and we heartily recommend Chiara Bistro.
One of our favorite suburban restaurants. We brought friends who had never been there and they absolutely loved it all as we do. the ambiance is warm and cozy with a touch of elegance. The service is friendly and appropriate. The food is awesome and the cocktails are innovative and made just right.
All in all, one of the best and a great place for casual or fancy dinner out!!
I hadn't been to Chiara in a while and was glad to see it was still as good as ever. The fois gras and duck confit terrine was delicious and the breast of chicken served on marscapone polenta was one of the best chicken preparations I have ever had. The only reason I didn't give the food and outstanding rating was the cornbread shortcake which I split with a dining companion. We both agreed it was really dry and just not very good...a rare miss at this restaurant.
We had a group of six and were seated a little off the main dining room at a nice ample table. We especially enjoyed being able to talk to and hear each other without feeling totally isolated from the rest of the restaurant. The chef sent over a little treat for everyone and the dessert was sinful. Four of the group live locally and will definitely visit again!!
Been to the restaurant many times, but when we got to the restaurant, we were told they didn't have our reservation. It was embarrassing, but the hostess was able to accomodate us, and we had a lovely evening. Don't know where the breakdown was, but from now on, I will call the restaurant to confirm my reservation.
Dinner was divine. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. Steve LaCount (chef) came out to visit for a few minutes. It is a wonderful experience all around. The restaurant's ambience is warm, cozy and elegant, with wonderfully creative and delicious food.
We were very pleasantly surprised by everything about this restaurant: the food was interesting, well-prepared, thoughtfully conceived and delicious. The ambiance and service were quite pleasant - there were couples having romantic tete a tetes, a large group in a back room celebrating something, several couples that looked like a date night. We were a group of five and they handled and timed everything perfectly - even tho we had, for example, hot apps, cold apps, oysters, etc - all well presented. I would return here anytime, and it is especially a gem for an area without many good restaurants.
welcoming and inviting bistro with friendly personnel; wine selection was good and chiraz was very nice per suggestion of bartender; quickly taken to our table, waitress was helpful with selections and food was well prepared and as ordered; overall a very nice experience and prices reasonable for the style of restaurant. Several other diners were there for a special occasion and would have a romantic feel versus other restaurants but not overdone.
Chiara Bistro is a real find. It's perfect for a couple's night out, with a lovely atmosphere and excellent food. The apricot cocktail was a bit on the sweet side, but the french Sauvignon Blanc was very nice. Each dish, including the pre-dinner breads and dips, has its own unique flavor and attention to detail. Onion soup was not too salty (that's unusual!), our chicken dish was yummy, and the Moroccan lamb was exquisite! We ended with creamy, homemade ice cream and biscuit. We are somewhat sensitive to cold, so we asked for a table away from the AC ceiling vents. I was glad I had my sweater. Overall, a wonderful experience!
From the moment we walked into the restaurant, it was an absolute treat. From the bartender, to the waiter, to the excellent food and atmosphere, a memorable night was had by all. It was a dining experience that was magical and one that I would highly recommend to my family and friends.
Chiara Bistro is as good as always. They serve the best lobster roll in Boston. My wife loved her burger. Service is friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable and the wine list is well chosen. It's only a 12 minute drive from Chestnut Hill and I can't wait to return.
