Chiara Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Came up from Florida to celebrate with friend who completed breast cancer treatment. The place was FREEZING....even the waitress admitted it. It was this week when for July it was cold and rainy outside and they should have adjusted the temp for this...we had to put coats over our shoulders while eating! My legs were freezing!
We ordered steaks ($39 each.ridiculous price) and I got a burger. Fries which I had previously liked were way overdone and dry and obviously dark in color..any chef worth their salt would have thrown them out and tried again....3 of us had them and they were all overdone ......just awful experience and WAY overpriced........place was packed but I feel that it is more because there is little for options versus it being such a fabulous place.
We were really disappointed as we had such great meals there before in the last 6 years .....won't go back when we come home to Massachusetts again and certainly won't recommend
We had another excellent meal at Chiara Bistro. They never fail to impress. My short rib gnocchi was delicious. My wife got the cannelloni and it was also fantastic. The owner recommended a Montepulciano that matched the dishes perfectly. They even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary! Highly recommended!
It was our first time there and we were very pleased with the overall experience. The food and service were excellent. We both had the scallops served over a lobster risotto. Cooked just right. The prices are a little on the expensive side but for a special occasion it is worth it. We will definitely come again.
We have not been to Chiara in a while so we decided to take my 91-year-old parents there for their 67th anniversary. We requested a quiet table, however, we were put in the front of the restaurant which had us worried. They tried to move us however, the back room was booked. Enter, our waitress, Tracey. What a delight! She was cheery, patient and sweet so we felt like we were in good hands. She treated my folks like royalty! We started with the gnocchi and the calamari as appetizers for the table. Both were absolutely delicious and nice-sized portions- the perfect size for 5 people to share. For dinner, two of us had the chicken. I am not one to usually get chicken when dining out, but this was everything Tracey said it would be-mouthwatering with absolutely yummy flavors in every bite. One of us had the pork chop dish. I had a bite. The chop was so thick and juicy and paired perfectly with a creamy, delectable risotto. Others at the table had the salmon and the cod which they also raved about-tons of flavor. All dishes were a nice-sized serving which made us full by dessert time. While we passed on ordering dessert, Tracey presented the table with a plate of cookies that had Happy Anniversary written on the plate. It made the meal! In the end, the noise level was not as bad as we had anticipated in the location we were sitting either. It is rare these days to find a restaurant with top notch service and food combined. We will definitely be returning!
Been coming here since it opened. Great to find a place that consistently delivers excellent food and service. Had the pork chop, which has actually been a staple on the menu since it opened, for the first time and loved it- juicy and very flavorful. Can't believe I've missed out on this dish for so long.
We ate from the fixed price menu for Father's Day. The food was fantastic....soft shell crab, rack of lamb, desserts. The service was almost fantastic. The owner (presumedly) was around and involved. It lacked a little ambiance but maybe because we sat in a funny spot.
Five of us went for the first time for a celebration. The meals were very good and very fresh. Stuffed warm, ripe, large, figs with cheese were great! Salads with greens and veggies were fresh, but very small . On one of the meal salads there were only 2 shrimp. The gnocchi and scallop dishes were wonderful and portions just right. But the grilled fish, though very tasty, was a very small portion. Homemade ice cream for dessert was delicious!
The waters were all very friendly and attentive. They gave us ample time to chat and did not rush us. Definitely will go back and refer friends.
4th time here and every time has been a great experience. I got the steak and it was phenomenal, cooked perfect. The service is always friendly and attentive. A new waitress was being trained and she was very personable. One of the best restaraunts around without having to drive into Boston
Our table was waiting and the service was excellent. My husband and I both devoured our meals (salmon for me and chicken for him) - both meals were outstanding! We were there on a Friday night, however, and it did seem that the tables were a bit close and the noise level a bit high, but then, we are getting on in years. This might be seen as a plus by someone younger :)
Bad service experience. Made reservations for my wife's birthday and noted that on the open table reservations. Had to wait 15 min for a table, no big deal. After being sat, waited another 20 minutes for a waitress. My pregnant wife is very hungry as one gets when you are eating for two, so she's ready to leave and eat anywhere else. It's her birthday dinner though, she's polite about staying. Waitress visits us and acts surprised that we have already decided on our meal (and where to get ice cream on the way home, and what to watch before bed.) She takes the order and tells us she'll bring bread, which relieves my wife. But guess what? The waitress disappeared for another 15 minutes before she walks by us and I remind her about the bread. The bread comes, which was very dry (yes the toasted bread was dry on purpose, but the rest?). Side pesto was good. The meal itself was good, not worth the hassle or the money. My wife's salad had a hair in it, but those things can happen. At the end of it, I had really high expectations as I picked it for a special occasion, but instead got a mediocre experience at very best. Very very disappointed in this one.
My most recent trip to Chiara was just as wonderful as my many previous visits. The menu choices are enticing. I was with two friends and we each had a different menu item. Each dinner was prepared and presented in an excellent fashion. The service was attentive as always. I highly recommend Chiara.
This was our first time here. Read the glowing reviews and decided to give it a try. It was my birthday. Decor was pretty, not posh but well done. Seating was a little tighter than we usually like, and noise level a bit high. But service was decent and food was excellent.
My boyfriend and I dined at Chiara for the first time on Friday night and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the mussels, caprese salad and the lamb lollichop to start and everything was cooked to perfection. For entrees, we ordered the veal cannaloni and the ribeye. Again, cooked perfectly and had wonderful flavors. The owner visited our table at the end of the night and personally thanked us for coming. I highly recommend Chiara, we will definitely be back!
