Chianti Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent - I had Polletto ai Carciofi e Capperi with a side of flavorful roasted potatoes; my companion had Tagliatelle that was gone so fast I didn't even get a taste. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and the orange creme brulee. My friend declared the chocolate mousse the best dessert she's had in her LIFE (unfortunate, since the chocolate mousse was MY dessert) and gave me a head's up that she wants to come back here and order the chocolate mousse for her birthday in a couple months! Tables a little close, but well worth it.
Staff were rude, had to request the same thing three times before they finally remembered to bring it, the shrimp or not demand which was gross, they dumped the wrong sauce on my angel hair before I left and I’m allergic to dairy. It was not the sauce it was made with and it was dumped over my leftovers which made them in edible. Occur to me to look in the box before I left the restaurant. The final insult was being asked to leave the restaurant because they needed the table for a crab that was forming at the front of the restaurant and align developing outside. Certainly not my problem! I made a reservation and this has never ever happened to me no matter the class of restaurant I have been in. I’m clearly not be back
I’ve been to this restaurant three previous times and had a very good experience. Food was good service was pretty good as well. Tonight I was being a friend to introduce her to this restaurant. It became very crowded very quickly but we had a reservation because I knew that would be necessary. We had finished our meal we were sitting and chatting. The manager , I suppose, came over to us and asked us to “do me a favor. I need to use your table because I have people waiting in line.” I was shocked. So many times I’ve had to wait when other people were finished up dining and would sit there and chat and nobody ever has asked them to vacate a table. In all my years of dining both very high-end and fancy to very casual, nobody has ever asked me to move To accommodate other guests. It’s really not my problem if others do not make a reservation decide to be a walk in. To add insult to injury the waiter decided to add sauce to my pasta which I had agreed to, however, he had the added the wrong sauce which I did not notice until I got home. He added a cream sauce and I cannot eat dairy, which he apparently forgot. And it wasn’t even the sauce that came with the original dish. So my pasta was ruined and had to be tossed. The manager said that we would have a free glass of wine for leaving when we came to the restaurant again . What in hell’s name was he thinking? Very unfortunate evening at best.
We had the best time at Chianti! Edgar took great care of us. The food, ambiance, and service were just all exceptional. We moved to the neighborhood last year and have driven by chianti and always wanted to go and we are so glad that we finally did!! We will be back VERY soon
Greeter/server was very friendly and aimed to please. We have eaten there many times, but this time neither of us enjoyed the taste of our meals. The marinara sauce taste had changed. It tasted as if cream had been added, and we did not like the flavor. Eggplant dish was mushy. The calamari and bread were the best part of the meal.
We have been a patron of Chianti's for some time now. The place is cozy, especially around dinner time, the food and service make it a great experience. We have come to know the wait staff and they are fun and friendly. We will continue to visit and look forward to experiencing the great things there.
You might be disappointed on arrival, at first. The restaurant is in a strip like mall. But the food is very good and authentic Italian. The waiters are Italian giving you confidence. They were also attentive.
Be sure and make a reservation. This place is pretty small and it does not take much to fill the place. No matter what day. To be on the safe side.
Also, the close quarters and proximity to kitchen, makes it warm. Make sure you have clothes you can peal off.
I went to Chianti, as I have been a great supporter of their sister restaurants, Venice, downtown and Greenwood village. As I had heard good things about Chianti, I decided to try it. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The food and service were both awful, and I certainly will never go to this restaurant again. First, it was hard to say, what was worse: the food or the service, or both. Certainly, to have to ask for the simplest things four or five times is inexcusable.
OK, what was the worst? Food or service? BOTH!!! Let me describe: First a little Bruschetta to munch on while selecting the menu. The evening before at Venice, superb. This evening, with black heavily charred bread? What can I say?
OK, Here we go: They served the appetizers. Mine was not served, although I thought it would soon appear. My mistake! After some time, I thought I would inquire. Oh, the waiter said, I served your appetizer to the wrong person. I will take it back!!!!! I thought better than to take the dish back from my guest, and , of course, given that they had already begun to eat it, not appropriate. The waiter agreed to get me a new appetizer. Knowing how these things work in terms of the pace of the dinner, I made the very explicit request, that they not fire the main dishes until we had finished with the appetizers. Unfortunately, this request, obviously, totally fell on deaf ears.
After we had finished with the appetizers (delayed, of course, due to their appetizer delivery issue) the waiter asked if we were ready for our main dishes? I replied yes (hoping that they had not prepared them already and had them waiting under a heat lamp or some such thing.) The dishes were then brought out IMMEDIATELY, which was my worst fear, and correctly so. My pasta was mealy (of course, what would you expect after 20 minutes under a heat lamp, or whatever), seafood terribly overcooked. which I encountered on this dish: a burnt and distasteful flavor.
So, my bottom line? Go to Venice Ristorante.
We met friends for dinner who happen to have traveled in Italy with us. Each of us enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was attentive, but also let us relax and visit. We had been to Chanti before several years ago and will make more of a point to go there again soon.
