Chianti Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
I eat at Chianti's fairly regularly and it's been a family favorite for years. It's always very crowded, with no room to move your chair away from the table. But I expect this and the food is definitely worth the lack of comfort. It's almost impossible to get in without a reservation. The portions are large and everything I've had there is absolutely perfect. The meals come with vegetables and pasta and I recommend the fettuccine alfredo. There's a large selection of wine and they usually have about 3-4 desserts.
Our service is usually perfect but this past visit it was a little slow. We had to ask a a few times to get more bread and my friend's husband didn't get his salad. This isn't typical though and I highly recommend Chianti's.
My wife and I have been big fans of Chianti for many years, but I have to say that our family Christmas Eve dinner this year was definitely not worth the price... Not sure many high end Italian restaurants will charge you $25 for a kids butter and noodles, but they did... They stuck us with a 20% gratuity (I usually pay 20-25% per meal) due to having six in my family, which they didn't state upfront, and not sure I have seen a party of 6 hit with a gratuity at any other restaurants I have been to in years. Lastly, their wine and drinks way overpriced and not a great selection...
Sorry to say, but we were quite disappointed with our Christmas Eve meal , and will not be going back to Chianti's for a family celebration in the future.
Overall food quality was low among several meals ordered. Also, minimal appetizer options available. Asked waiter to split one adult meal in 3 for sharing for 3 children and he indicated he couldn't resulting in charge for 1.5 meals for our children . I could have simply ordered one adult meal myself and split it. No desire to return whatsoever.
The food was subpar and seemed almost microwaved? We came on Christmas Eve for a fancy Italian dinner and it was the opposite of that. There was a special menu (as we assumed) but it was extremely small and we wished we could've seen that prior to our reservations. The tables were smushed together and the servers seemed rushed and rude. Wouldn't go back, especially for a special occasion.
It was our date night. We ordered a dish with angel hair instead of spaghetti, but it came out with spaghetti which was undercooked and cold. The shrimp was very cold as well. The server was often completely disappeared. Overall, it was disappointing. Won't go back.
I regularly go to Venice Ristorante, and decided to try their ‘sister’ restaurant, Chianti. Food was good but the service was terrible. Four times our waiter came by our table saying, ‘be right with you’. Not even a drink order. I will stick to Venice in the future.
Had never been here before and needed a place in DTC for our small company Holiday dinner. The location and ambiance are both unassuming (located in a quiet strip mall) , but could not be happier that we chose this place. Our server was great as were the rest of the staff, and the food was delicious. I do not dine in DTC often, but will not hesitate to come back here again! Cheers and thanks again to the wonderful staff at Chianti
We haven't been here for at least 10 years, as we were more likely to go to their sister restaurant, Venice, which is bigger and easier to get into. I felt the entrees weren't as good as they used to be, though the wine, the appetizers, and service was very good. The wine list is on an iPad, but the connection kept being interrupted, which was a little annoying.
Food was excellent - I had Polletto ai Carciofi e Capperi with a side of flavorful roasted potatoes; my companion had Tagliatelle that was gone so fast I didn't even get a taste. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and the orange creme brulee. My friend declared the chocolate mousse the best dessert she's had in her LIFE (unfortunate, since the chocolate mousse was MY dessert) and gave me a head's up that she wants to come back here and order the chocolate mousse for her birthday in a couple months! Tables a little close, but well worth it.
Staff were rude, had to request the same thing three times before they finally remembered to bring it, the shrimp or not demand which was gross, they dumped the wrong sauce on my angel hair before I left and I’m allergic to dairy. It was not the sauce it was made with and it was dumped over my leftovers which made them in edible. Occur to me to look in the box before I left the restaurant. The final insult was being asked to leave the restaurant because they needed the table for a crab that was forming at the front of the restaurant and align developing outside. Certainly not my problem! I made a reservation and this has never ever happened to me no matter the class of restaurant I have been in. I’m clearly not be back
I’ve been to this restaurant three previous times and had a very good experience. Food was good service was pretty good as well. Tonight I was being a friend to introduce her to this restaurant. It became very crowded very quickly but we had a reservation because I knew that would be necessary. We had finished our meal we were sitting and chatting. The manager , I suppose, came over to us and asked us to “do me a favor. I need to use your table because I have people waiting in line.” I was shocked. So many times I’ve had to wait when other people were finished up dining and would sit there and chat and nobody ever has asked them to vacate a table. In all my years of dining both very high-end and fancy to very casual, nobody has ever asked me to move To accommodate other guests. It’s really not my problem if others do not make a reservation decide to be a walk in. To add insult to injury the waiter decided to add sauce to my pasta which I had agreed to, however, he had the added the wrong sauce which I did not notice until I got home. He added a cream sauce and I cannot eat dairy, which he apparently forgot. And it wasn’t even the sauce that came with the original dish. So my pasta was ruined and had to be tossed. The manager said that we would have a free glass of wine for leaving when we came to the restaurant again . What in hell’s name was he thinking? Very unfortunate evening at best.
We had the best time at Chianti! Edgar took great care of us. The food, ambiance, and service were just all exceptional. We moved to the neighborhood last year and have driven by chianti and always wanted to go and we are so glad that we finally did!! We will be back VERY soon
Greeter/server was very friendly and aimed to please. We have eaten there many times, but this time neither of us enjoyed the taste of our meals. The marinara sauce taste had changed. It tasted as if cream had been added, and we did not like the flavor. Eggplant dish was mushy. The calamari and bread were the best part of the meal.
