Crowded but surprisingly intimate at the table. Staff was well prepared and service was great.
Love this intimate and cozy place. The food is really nice and delicious. Service is wonderful. I want to become a regular.
This is an excellent restaurant. We always enjoy it!
After seeing the great reviews, we were frankly underwhelmed. The restaurant is very crowded and extremely noisy. There were a couple of large groups that could have contributed to the high noise level but I suspect it’s still very noisy with smaller groups. The food was average at best. The best was the antipasto appetizer. My veal Marsala was not seasoned well at all nor was my wife’s cioppino. The service was good but not exceptional.
I had been wanting to try Chianti for quite some time because of all of the great reviews from friends. I was underwhelmed by the food but the service was great. We started with the calamari and it wasn’t seasoned well, just super bland and boring. The breading was light and crispy so it had potential. There weren’t many chewy ones, so i guess that was a plus. Next we had the shrimp scampi and the shrimp had an overwhelming flavor of chlorine. I could not eat them. Otherwise, the buttery caper sauce was good and noodles were perfectly al dente. We also had a sausage ragu with a creamy red sauce. The sauce was good but the noodles were super al dente, just a little too hard. I’ll give the wine suggestion a 5. It was a good Chianti that I would not have chosen.
Food is always great at this small but quaint location and sister of Venice Ristorante!
The food and service was excellent.
The Food and Wine is excellent...enjoyed the Veal Marsala..
Great Italian Restaurant ...we've been here numerous times...
A wonderful restaurant ! Always enjoy going.
The staff is very friendly and recognize you from previous visits. The food is excellent and priced right and the service is the best.
Thank you for always making a dinner extra special!
We’ve eaten here dozens of times, it’s one of our neighborhood faves. Usually it’s a 5-star place with nothing but wonderful on the tips of our tongues. Tonight everything was just off — the special did not look or taste as advertised, the gnocchi was pasty and flavorless, and the service was terrible (our waiter dropped off the food then did not return until he delivered the bill). If we didn’t know the restaurant was capable of excellence, we would never go back. As it is, it may take awhile for us to give it another try.
This is a neighborhood gem. A white cloth Italian restaurant with great food and moderate prices. We took our seven year old granddaughter who loves mussels and they prepared a special dish for her.
In cold weather ask for a table away from the door
The food was delicious! The service was exceptionally good. Our waiter, Edgar, was so friendly and knowledgeable. You have to try their pasta!
I have never been to this restaurant when I have been seated anytime close to my reservation. What is worse is that there is nowhere to wait other than at the door. Nonetheless, the food is EXCELLENT.
Reserved through Opentable but table was not ready at the booked time. Not stood first impression for us.
Very cramped, a few tables should be removed. All tables were constantly occupied during the 6:40 - 8:30pm timeslot
Friends recommended the food at this restaurant, but my partner and I found it ordinary. Not authentic Italian - that is OK, but I’m not sure how I would describe the cuisine.
The head waiter did go out of his way to make sure my partner was happy after she did not at all like her gnocchi. This was not expected, but it was a nice touch.
Cozy environment, service impeccable and food was top notch. Our server did a wonderful job answering questions, making suggestions and keeping glasses full. We were served with a wonderful sense of humor. Dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine was well worth the price. Quality!
The food was good. Tables are tightly placed and noise level is high. As soon as you arrive the goal of the waiter seems to be to get you in and out so he can turn the table. Not a relaxing experience.
Delicious food and wine with great service. The atmosphere is energized with a romantic feeling. We will definitely return for more tasty food and good Chianti, especially the Risotto. You may want to consider sharing a meal as the portions are generous.
Amazing Dinner with impeccable service. All food had by our party was not only delicious but had a beautiful presentation.
As always, excellent! My only critique would be how tight the tables are packed. We love this restaurant but as popular as they are, it would be nice if they expanded their space a bit to accommodate that popularity.
Wonderful service and overall excellent
Food is fantastic. Restaurant is quite small which makes for cozy seating and it is very loud when busy.
Great service ! We’ve been going here for many years
I was there with a date on Saturday night during restaurant week. Big mistake. The place was crowded, noisy, and the waiters were overwhelmed resulting in poor service. The food was good, but the overall experience was poor.
We had a great dinner here although we had to wait half an hour for our reserved table on a Friday night during restaurant week. The calamari were some of the best I’ve ever had. Very croweded, small space. Hope to return and would recommend.
Outstanding local Italian restaurant. I feel like I should keep it a secret -- hmmmm... too late.
The dinner - food, service was outstanding. The restaurant is just small and a little close quarters. It was a little loud but not overwhelming. I love this place!
The food was fantastic, I can't wait to go back again
Get the cauliflower soup-even if you aren't a vegetarian. It is delicious. I'm going back just for the soup! I also had the gnocchi which was good-I think it was a bit overcooked. I ordered a bottle of wine that they were out of. They brought a different bottle that was more expensive, but I liked it. I appreciated that our server brought a wine with the flavor profile I liked, but felt I was up-sold. The atmosphere has that old school feeling.
We dined here for Denver Restaurant week. While I am no critic, I do know good Italian food when I eat it. This certainly fit the bill.
Food and service were great. Seating was PACKED, layout of the entry way and rest of the seating area was crammed, which killed the setting. Takes a lot away from chances of this being a romantic or enjoyable setting for fine dining. They need a bigger place or less tables and some ways to break up the open layout.
This tiny little Italian gem is the real thing. Consistently delivering the taste and charm of exceptional Italian cuisine.
We had a GREAT time! The food and there service was awesome!
We've been to both Chianti and Venice (Chianti's sister restaurant) a few times each and the food is always top notch. Great service as well. The homemade pastas and sauces are excellent and the Chianti sampler appetizer is a great value. Highly recommended.
Admittedly we didn’t eat here. We had a reservation and when we got there, it was obvious they didn’t have a clue how to properly manage reservations and flow. After waiting over 1/2 after our reservation time we left and went elsewhere.
We went to the restaurant on the first day of Restaurant week. The menu was fine with something for everyone in our party of four. The food generally was excellent. The chicken marsala was nothing special. Service was pleasant and well timed. Restaurant week caused the restaurant to pack tables too together with a corresponding noise increase. Overall the experience was fun and the food very good.
It’s my wife’s birthday and this was an amazing desert date with her and my seven year old son.
Delicious food, generous portions, and attentive wait staff. Would definitely go back.
Luis and Spiros are the best. Armando is gracious as well. We love going to this neighborhood gem.
Day after valentines!! VERY COZY!
