Chianti Grill - Roseville Ratings and Reviews
My Son and his wife were visiting from out of town and they had been there before and suggested it again. We are always pleasantly pleased with excellent service, friendly wait staff and delicious food. Its a friendly and cheerful atmosphere and we go there often.
We showed up on a Fri evening at 8, and although the parking lot was full we were seated within 5 min. I tried the pomegranate martini and was very pleased. My dinner date ordered the veal & I had the Spicy Chicken Penne. Both were excellent. Service was wonderful as always. Chianti Grill continues to be one of our favorite dining spots. Thank you once again.
While waiting for my dinner partner, a waiter passed around appetizers. A nice touch. Staff were friendly, and their ability to accommodate the flow of patrons looked seamless.
Prices were reasonable, and the house Chardonnay was surprisingly good!
We will return.
My husband and I had a free day to go for a 200 mile drive. We've eaten at Chianti before and enjoyed it, so I made a reservation on our long drive there. We were so disappointed to sit right in front of the kitchen door, especially with a reservation:( There were other open tables nearby, I should have requested a move to a quieter area.
We ordered the new Thai flatbread for the app., it was amazing! I ordered the ahi tuna salad for my entree, it too was amazing! Hubby ordered the chicken parm, amazing as well!
The Chianti Grill is almost as close to Italy as one can get in a Twin Cities suburb--high ceiling, gentle chatter, peals of light shining in, and fine-tasting, affordable food. My friend and I did giggle a bit about our very nice waiter's Minnesota accent, but we enjoyed his good humor and patience with us. We choose the Chianti Grill over any other eatery.
We usually love this place, but this time, we were seated in a noisy spot, which was right by the kitchen. This is not what we requested in the reservation, nor was it what we had in mind for our anniversary. The recipe for what we usually order has been changed (lobster shrimp spaghetti), so it wasn't as flavorful.
You'll need a take-home container! I have eaten here several times over a couple of years and am ALWAYS more than satisfied with my experience. The food is amazing and consistantly delicious and the servings are huge! There's always something to take home and savor again. Although the ambiance is serene, warm and upscale, it is a comfortable and welcoming spot for all dining patrons. The cocktails are creative and special orders are made with artistry and knowledge. The service is normally very good and you can always see the Manager on Duty actively assisting in keeping the service and dining room running smoothly. I don't know why you don't hear more about this (ie: advertised), but that's good for me, as I have no problem getting a table whenever I have wanted one. It is worth the drive, for me, to have an exceptional meal at a fabulous value.
Four of us ate at Chianti Grill on a Saturday night. We had a 6:45 reservation and were seated within 10-15 minutes - no problem. We ended up in the first booth outside the kitchen. Not the best location. Personally, I think the restaurant should have a full high back on that booth so you don't feel like you are almost in the kitchen. The restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy. The booths are a little tight when you have 4 adults plus coats, purses, etc. The food and beverage were fairly good, but nothing spectacular. Thought the liquor prices were outrageous. Had one glass of wine and nearly fell out of the booth when I saw the $13 price afterwards. My husband had one of their maple whiskey (holiday-type) mixed drinks ( just in a regular highball glass) and we expected maybe $7 or $8, but not the $10 price. I guess it's 'buyer beware' when you eat and drink here. Not sure if we would return. My husband says "no way."
Overall everything was great. However, service was slower than usual. Our server gave fair service. We sat for a while before she even approached and greeted us. She spent much time on two tables near us, not even glancing in our direction. We were not in a hurry, but she took quite a while getting to us and was not very engaging. We had just finished our entrees and she approached and placed check on our table without asking if we would like coffee or dessert. This is the first time we have had this mediocre level of service. We have eaten there several times. In spite of this we will return. We were there with good friends in a beautiful setting, with good food.
Having had a couple of favorable dining experiences at Chiant Grill in the past, I recommended the restaurant for this past Saturday evening. Sadly, it was a less than favorable experience. Our drinks, appetizer and salad arrived in a timely manner. However, we waited over an hour after our salad plates were cleared before the entree arrived, only to learn that our order ticket had mistakenly been thrown away. While we received apologies for the delay, that was the only compensation. An offer to comp our beverages would have gone a long way to maintain good will. With so many dining options available, we will not return to Chianti Grill.
Another excellent meal at Chianti. Took my niece for a special gluten-free meal before she left for home in the SF Bay Area. She said it was the best gluten-free restaurant meal she’d ever had. The wine list is comprehensive, with choices in all price ranges. The service is always excellent, and there is something very special about friendly efficient servers with white shirts, bow ties and aprons. Our server could even recite the available tea varieties!
