I wish this weren't true but there was a piece of jewelry in my caesar salad (sent back) and our lunch special grouper dishes were very oily. I can cook better myself at home. The praise and accolades the chef and restaurant have a great thought. Hopefully it was just an off day. Service was great but I would have hoped my ceasar would have been taken off my bill.
Sean was such a great server. He knew the menu and wine list so well. Our dinner was delicious and we were able to have a productive business dinner without interruption.
The menu is quite heavy for my taste (it's French so it's what I expected of course) so I can't say I'll be back anytime soon but the service is incredible and the food was tasty overall. The mushroom soup was a disappointment (too thin) and our filet mignon was overcooked but the filet still tasted great regardless. Excellent service. Very fancy experience - in a good way :) Great location. Pricey.
Beef in my crepe was well done, bit chewy. Would prefer it to be medium rare. Loved the tomato jelly that was served with cheese board. Cappuccino was more like a latte. Good, but not what I wanted.
We love Chef Vincent! We have been eating here for 11years and the food, service and ambiance are perfect for a date night. Chef Vincent always makes sure he comes by our table for a hello and always ends the night with a toast of his special sambuca. Always a perfect evening!
The service was mediocre. Quality of food poor and scanty for the amount charged. There were only three small lamb chops served for the price of $30.00 and not what was illustrated on the website. The tenderloin was small, tough and with a lot of gristle. The coffee was lukewarm. The crème brulee dessert was OK.
Vary good and tasty french cuisine. Different seating options more formal on the Left side (Chez Vincent) and more modern on the Hannibal Lounge side. Would not recommend the Sofas for dinner if you are less than 6 ft tall (you sit very low there but still comfy). Tables with chairs are good. Nice atmosphere
The $35 pre fixe was unnecessarily low. The portion sizes were too small. A pre-fixe of
$45 or even $55 would not be excessive if it meant more substantial portions.
Initially our service was the worst until another server took over.
I felt the pate was under-seasoned and served refrigerator cold.
The french cuisine is always authentic and perfectly prepared. The service was good, even on a busy holiday for brunch.
Chez Vincent never disappoints!
My guests had never been to Chez Vincent before and their experience was excellent.
Our appetizers, our entree’s and desserts were exceptional.
Recommend trying the daily specials.
The omelet was burned, and blackened chicken sandwich was dry and nothing but sliced chicken and some type of honey mustard sauce on a bun. One of the crepes was dried out. It all looked like leftovers from the previous evening. The waiter and atmosphere were the only thing that kept us there.
Server and food were both wonderful.
I had a discount, so decided to try it. Prices were good so I would go back without a discount for their good food.
The restaurant featured musicians that I have sought out before and enjoyed. If they were not there I might have left without even ordering anything. It took over 20 minutes and a plea to a restaurant employee to get water and more time to have an order taken. Once that was accomplished the service was adequate. The food was well prepared although I was disappointed in the escargot as it was lacking flavor. While I have not written off the restaurant completely I will not be in a hurry to return there to dine.
We had an enjoyable meal. Service and overall experience was fine. My only complaint was that I was freezing cold. Maybe I was seated under a vent or maybe it was the general temperature but I was happy to leave just to warm up.
Food was good. Service wa excellent. Cocktails were Vera he but I think they may be more known for wine then cocktails.
Food and wine was awesome at Chez Vincent- we enjoyed our lunch so much we went back for a dinner- all six people loved it! Will make it a regular stop when we visit Winter Park. Chef Vincent was delightful as was our waiter, Skye.
We began our lunch with champagne and escargot pastries. Delicious. Hen we had tenderloin and chicken crepes; with a nice Cointreau and a Frangelico to close the evening. Exquisite without the price tag. Will be back very soon.
We had been looking forward to an evening of French cuisine at Chez Vincent. I had been eying this restaurant for quite some time and thought it would make a nice place to celebrate a special occasion for us…
We arrived at the restaurant, which is separated into two areas by a bar. Chez Vincent on one side, and Hannibal’s on the other – same food, same restaurant, just two different names. We walked in through the “Chez” side. None of the servers looked up although we attempted to get their attention, “Perhaps the entrance is on the other side.” We walked over to the Hannibal’s side. The place had a handful of patrons dining at their tables, and another handful at the bar. We were not greeted, but were able to flag down a thinly-built man with thinning dark blondish hair – whom I assume was the maître d’. We informed him that we had a reservation and he said, as he pointed, “pick a table – we have two here, and one in the back.” We were surprised that he simply pointed to the tables and left us to choose one – even more so that a restaurant of this caliber, and price-tag, would not walk their customers to a table, pull out the chair, ask if that table is ok… you know, the normal thing that a maître d normally does.
We chose the table furthest to the back of the room… and patiently waited for about 10 minutes… no one came to the table… no one said, “someone will be right with you…”, nothing… A young, blonde waitress tended to the table on the other side of the back of the room… my husband attempted to get the server's for a menu, a glass of water… anything. She didn’t even glance at him (in fact, she looked up towards the ceiling) and continued walking. We waited another two minutes, and still nothing: no water, no menus, no "someone will be right with you"... zippo! We got up and left – right next door to the Italian restaurant across the street, where we had a wonderful meal and dining experience.
Everything was excellent except the service. They were obviously understaffed while running food to their venue next door. Food made it all worthwhile though.
A true gem. Far above the experience you would have at a chain restaurant. Real cuisine prepared by a real chef. This is a special place.
As always, We all had a very good lunch. It's really nice to find somewhere where you do not feel rushed. Good wine also!!
Phenomenal place. Plan to go there again.
Excellent will be back food service everything
This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant - and probably our last.
1.Music from Puerto Rican wedding next door was so loud it destroyed the ambiance of the restaurant; made it difficult to have a conversation. If management knows there will be a wedding, close the restaurant. Why have it open for 10-15 covers when you'll have unhappy patrons.
2. Service first time was average; and average this time. Server is just pleasant enough but doesn't engage; shows no enthusiasm for anything. Does his job, but nothing more.
3. Food is good, but nothing special. Expecting a traditional fabulous French baquette - but don't even get that.
Not worth the drive, or the money. Not authentic French.
Always consistently good. It has been one of my favorites for 20 years.
We asked a friend (French-trained Cordon Bleu chef) for a recommendation for a restaurant in Winter Park (where his wife is from). He recommended Chez Vincent. We have been there twice on business travels to the Orlando area in the last 6 months. Fabulous. Exquisite.
Unfortunately, we chose this restaurant on Valentines Day when there was high volume and a limited prix fixe menu. My crab cake in mango chutney appetizer was excellent. The goat cheese in artichoke salad was OK. The duck a l’orange entree was a bit tepid but tasty and the sea scallop in tarragon sauce was good. After the crab cake, the best part of the dinner was the dessert of chocolate fudge cake with a raspberry ice on top. I would give this restaurant another chance on a “non event” night but this meal for $75 each was disappointing.
We had a phenomenal Valentines Day here. Server was great and made great suggestions.
The Valentine’s menu was great! Food was delicious and the presentation was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. The price seems to be an issue in some reviews I read elsewhere but it’s a great restaurant with amazing food quality that is definitely worth the price. It’s a top notch restaurant expect to pay for what you get.
For the cost the food was poor and service mediocre
Chez Vincent is a repeat for us. We try to visit quiet often. We enjoy the food, ambiance, service & friendliness of the staff. We invited friends to join us this Valentine day & were happy we did. Great night out no many restaurants could possibly match
The rest was cute service was good the food needs a facelift, everything was flat and dated
Good food for the location (I've spent a lot of time in France). Live music was enjoyable. Service was not good. We made a reservation an when we came they did not have a decent table even though there were at least 6 unoccupied tables in the two rooms that I could see. The waitress kept forgetting us. Bought bread twice and forgot the butter twice. Did not keep eye scanning our table to see when we needed something, although she was always near. The chef was positioned at the bar while we were there, so I don't know who was running the kitchen.
The food was good, and the portions perfect. I a diabetic, but had the chocolate raspberry mousse and when I fearfully took my blood sugar that night, it was perfect.
My wife loved the place, except for the seating and server, but everyone else was polite. If she wants to go back on our next regular trip we will go, but I will specify what table I want and be insistent about the level of service I expect at a quality restaurant.
Dishes were very nicely prepared and cooked exactly as requested. I recommend the L'ASSIETTE GOURMANDE, a sampling of 5 of the seafood items. If the daily special includes Ahi Tuna with a Grand Marnier sauce, choose that.
Chez Vincent is my favorite place to celebrate my Birthday. Great food and wine.
Went there for my 60th birthday. Hadn’t been there in years. The place needs an overhaul. Food was pretty bad. Ate there with 7 people. Nobody in our group was happy with the food. Waiter and service was good.
This was the second time dining at Chez Vincent. The first time was not a positive experience so we decided to give it another chance. First the restaurant was very warm and humid - you don't want to be sweating while you are dining at nice restaurant. Second, the service was poor. The waiter was inexperienced and very overwhelmed by a hustling crowd. We went thru 3 wine selections (which they were out of) and 30 mins after we sat down I had my first glass of wine (which was way too long and I ended up not drinking the wine). The food was very good so they get good marks there. I would also say Hannibals, bar next door, was excellent and bartenders were very good.
The Food was excellent .
I was in Hannibal section of restaurant.
Piano music made slightly loud for conversations but wonderful ambiance !
For quieter experience go to the dining room section .
We dine at Chez Vincent annually on our trip down from Jacksonville. 12 straight years. We find the ambiance a wonderful compliment to the food. Vincent roams the room from time to time which gives you a sense of caring on his part. We highly recommend if your in the area.
