Great food and service, as always. I love this place!
will defineately eat here again nice place excellent food
My wife and I ate at Chez Piggy several times many years ago. It is very commendable that the quality of food and service has servived the test of time. My recent dinner was exceptionally good. Keep up the good work.
As always, the food here was interesting, very tasty, and well presented. The staff ( a long-timer) was excellent and attentive, even on a busy night when there were no empty tables. Wine selection was also excellent. Portion sizes, especially the appetizers (Where's Waldorf salad and hummus / pita plate), were very generous . . . could have been sharing plates. This remains our favourite Kingston restaurant!
We went for the Sunday roast. Meat and veg served 'family style'; in our case roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, roast cauliflower and Romanesco on 2 big platters. The meat was very yummy, but so rare and fatty that our knives wouldn't cut it. We'd been told it would be served medium rare to rare, which is perfect. Instead it seemed rare to almost blue. The veg - ostensibly the least expensive part of the meal - was quite scarce, but delicious. Not enough veg for 4 people, although the price per person is not high, so maybe that's it.
The table d'hote comes with soup/salad and dessert. Beef & barley soup was very tasty and the pumpkin pie was a real treat. Very good service and good wines to choose from. Once you add the booze in, the price of the meal was on the high side to our mind.
Had a terrific time at Chez Piggy. The service was tremendous. It was attentive without being bothersome. The front desk was able to respond to a change in our numbers without a fuss and were very gracious in our seating arrangements. The price point was fine. A great place to have brunch.
Graduated from Queens in '82 and Chez Piggy's was our university days place to get parents to take you, special occasion or when you simply needed to pamper yourself and desert your student budget for an evening. Since then we return every fiveyears for Homecoming and our Saturday lunch is a must. This year proved no exception and the food, service and ambience were all perfect. Thank you Piggy and we hope to see you again before our next Homecoming.
Our lunch on Saturday was wonderful from prompt seating to excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to dine at Chez Piggy again.
On the pricey side but worth paying the extra as magnificent food and service
The food was fantastic! The dessert, “pyramid Scheme” was the kind of thing you think about for days afterwards and dream about. Makes you want to come back years later and hope it is still on the menu!
First trip to Kingston
Never disappoints! Beautiful setting, cozy inside fresh air dining too. Food is prepared perfectly every time.
We got a last minute but early reservation on a busy Saturday night. Service was poor/slow but food and atmosphere were good.
Food was good , but servings were much smaller than last year, and it was very noisy.
Better value elsewhere in Kingston.
The food was excellent! Service was great as was the atmosphere. Would recommend this restaurant
Iconic Kingston restaurant not to be missed. Food is always outstanding
My wife and I drove from Massachusetts to dine with two Canadian cousins in Kingston. It was our third trip this year and truly enjoyed Chez Piggy.
We live in the country, 45 minutes North of the City. We were in the City dealing with some reasonably trying issues. The restaurant gave us an intimate environment to recharge. Excellent menu and, very good service. Nice that the weather enabled the patio as well. Thank You!
Chez Piggy is always first to come to mind for a fun lunch!
Well Done!! Location gives a feel of Nashville TN, and does not disappoint on the food experience. Do not miss out on one of the best food experiences you can have... Hats off to the Chef and staff
This was a special day for my boyfriend to get together with his children, one he hasn't seen in a couple of years and meeting with her husband for the first time. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The service was terrific even though the place was packed.
service was very friendly and attentive and loved the patio. Also location in downtown Kingston is excellent. Was difficult to get proper colour/temperature on steak but restaurant did its best to rectify mistake.
Was not crazy about dessert selection but menu was excellent. Wine service could have been slightly more informed and wine specialist said she would return to table to check on our selection but she never did. However, wine that was recommended was very good.
Good food, very nice setting, nice variety of beverages and wine. Had enjoyed our last special event there. However, this time was extremely uncomfortable waiting for all courses. I asked serving staff if there were people absent. The reply was more than one, and outside is given priority with regards to staffing. I not wanted to ruin the evening for my wife did not make a deal of it. Watching two older women trying to serve over 60 ppl at one, I counted was painful to watch, and as a customer waiting, unpleasant. Next special event will be elsewhere.
Was totally pleased with my dining experience at Chez Piggy! Food was wonderful, service with a smile, perfect day, what more could one ask! We even managed a seat in the patio!
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
Great food, great service, great experience. Would definitely go back if ever in Kingston!
Nice looking restaurant. Great service. Food was delicious. Busy restaurant
Waitress was great, good service. Hosts were not so friendly or pleasant.
Always great food and service for larger groups and small gatherings. Good wine, beer and food.
We are three long time friends who thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Chez Piggy. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to others.
We always go to Chez Piggy with our September house guests and hope to sit outside. I ALWAYS have the spring roll salad!
Fantastic food as always. Service was a bit slow on a busy Friday night.
We were fortunate that the skies cleared and we were able to sit on the patio
Food was good. Salads very good. Vietnamese spring roll deep fried, like a Chinese roll, not what we expected. My husband had scallops & I had the Asian grain & tofu bowl. The black rice in my bowl was not completely cooked. My husbands entree was perfect. Service very good.
I've been coming since early years after Chez Piggy first opened as a pioneer in the then undeveloped waterfront of historic Kingston. It has kept it's fantastic atmosphere of limestone heritage and cozy intimacy for guests while not slacking on the consistent high level of service and cuisine. Not too large a menu withsomething for everyone including vegetarian and seasonal/local specials. Knowledgeable service staff, and on our latest dinner visit, a server who obviously new all the details of the specials and conveyed a special genuine cheerful vibe in being part of the team of such a local Kingston landmark. It was too cool for patio to be open, and we were seated in the high ceiling upper level with the huge original limestone wall(s). Most tables were filled as is always the expectation, and although we arrived almost 30 min late for our reservation, we had a choice of two tables still available for us, no waiting, while another couple were asked to wait; in other words they had held our reservation :) Food was superb, just the right portions (leaving room for an excellent, not too sweet, delicious desert charcuterie plate :) Wine choices were perfect spectrum. Plan to keep returning whenever possible.
Went for my husband's birthday and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent, service was great and we loved the cozy atmosphere! A very enjoyable experience! Will definitely be back!
Great food! Fun place! The patio is lovely too. Really good cocktails.
Loved the food and the menu at Chez Piggy! Already looking forward to going back!
I went last fall with a friend and had to go back with my husband and my 10 yr old son because I loved it so much. After my son's second bite he said that this was now his second favorite restaurant. Our reservation was for 2:15 and the patio was packed, I suggest you don't go without a reservation to avoid being disappointed.
Always my favourite place to go when I visit Kingston. Food and service is very good and I love the ambiance. Lovely outdoor terrace as well.
Great food. Great ambience. Loved exposed brick walls.
